Wedding details
It all started back in 2011 when Chris was in the process of recording his band Adrian Aardvark's newest album, "Hidden Magic Revival." On this album, he asked many different musicians in the area to sit in and record parts for the songs. After seeing Shannon play violin live at a local music space, he mustered up the courage to ask her to play for a few tracks on the album. Of course, she said yes and from then on their friendship grew. Chris popped the big question on Sunday, July 20th, 2014 in Chicago while they were attending the three day Pitchfork Music Festival. Unknown to Shannon, he had been carrying the ring around the whole weekend waiting for the right moment. Chris thought that right moment was going to be on Saturday night during the performance of the band Neutral Milk Hotel, but Shannon decided to sprain her ankle in the crowd during the second song. With a little convincing, he helped her hobble over to the first aid tent for some ice and medical attention. On Sunday, the last day of the festival, Shannon spent most of the day on a blanket with ice on her ankle and a good view of the main stage where a band (Deafheaven) they were very excited to see was about to play. She encouraged Chris to get closer to the stage to dance and have a good time while she enjoyed it from her spot on the lawn. He declined and started to tell her how much he loved her. Already being knelt on the ground beside her, he pulled a small box from his pocket and asked, "Shannon, will you marry me?" Of course, she said yes once again. While they were both embracing and crying with tears of joy, strangers enjoying the festival were now enjoying watching this beautiful moment. Many folks went up to Shannon and gave her bundles of daisies, while others took photos of the moment and later sent them to Chris. Now they are on their way to even more adventures and are excited to share their love with close friends and family.
