Wedding details
We met in 2001, while they were taking Tae Kwon Do classes at Cindy Powell's Black Belt Karate Association. I was a brown belt and he was a blue belt. After my brother, David, and I recieved our black belts in June of 2006, I went on to pursue other interests. Nathan continued his training. Along with David, Nathan also continued in his participation in the Demo Team, Powerline, where in a demonstration, David broke a couple of Nathan's toes. Luckily, he didn't hold it against him. It wasn't until another four years rolled by before we met again. On the night of my mother's graduation from Vatterott College, June 12, 2010, I went out to a local bar, Rumor Has It, on a date. My date happened to be friends with Nathan, whom came over to say hello to his friend, and recognized me, saying, "I know you from somewhere." Needless to say, my date didn't go anywhere, however it opened up an opportunity to broaden my social group. I started to hang out with a group of people at Hannibal's local coffee shop, Java Jive. Nathan was a part of this group. We became friends quickly. I couldn't get Nathan out of my head. And after talking to my friend, TJ, he helped me to decide to just got for it. So, I asked him out, and he said yes. That very night, in August of 2010, we went on our first date to see The Expendables. Less than a week later, we went on another date to the theater to see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. We continued to see each other for the next month, and on September 9, 2010, we decided to date exclusively. He moved in with me the following March, where we still live and continuously entertain each other with goofy faces and randum questions. On Christmas Eve, 2011, after making it adamantly clear he would never propose on a special occasion, he pulled out a ring and said, "I know I said I'd never do this on a holiday, but will you marry me?" Of course, I said yes, after squeaking and giggling for a good two minutes. Now, we're just living like we always have, just with a wedding in our future.
