So once upon a time on the great, great World Wide Web, there was a woman who decided to reinvent her online profile at Okcupid. She (myself) had tried countless.....eh, skip the third person. :) In a nutshell, I had been at the site, as my fiance called Okcupid since it was first created. We'd each tried other dating sites to no luck. For myself, I'd tried: eharmony, match.com, on type of 'geek' specific sites. I really wanted someone to share in my personal as well as professional interests with. I took a break to focus on myself, and literally prayed over the profile I was making. I said, "Lord, do your thing, your will with this!" Suddenly, the inbox poured in as it never had before. I could tell this time around was going to be different. Not just the it's-never-been-this-way, different. But something was around the bend different.. I saw his profile and gave it five stars when it was matched up to mine. I thought he seemed a cute, fun guy! We began to talk, bond over Words with Friends, and ultimately met up for coffee. He told me "I know that you are it." After we had our discussion (which was of course..different!) by way of our wants, needs, thoughts. I told him, "We will see." Yet, also different? Phone calls to say hello. Sweet letters. Real, old school, genuine..courting! He had me as his girlfriend within a week, and we've been like pbj since then. Six months in his company has done what well over double that time in other relationships never has. When he asked me on Valentine's Day, I was just on edge to say yes! So now we do our spelling games weekly or laugh from in person across the table as we plan our wedding.
