Jerry proposed on August 23, 2011 in Boca Grande with the help of Joel. I was very happy and somewhat surprised. I knew that the engagement was coming soon, however I did not know where, how or exactly when. It was perfect in my eyes! We had dinner at a small restaurant where we were extremely over dressed, but that only made things better, we then took a walk on the beach despite the huge gusts of wind and oncoming storm. After the nice stroll we drove down to the historic light house where we have visited many times before, both for fun and for fishing. As we walked out onto the beach I noticed something red in the sand. When I got closer I could read MARRY ME in red streamers wrapped around candles. I immediately said YES! But Jerry reminded me that he hadn’t said anything yet, so he very romantically asked me to marry him as he was down on one knee. I said yes, again, and he placed the most beautiful ring on my finger! Afterwards Joel brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was that Joel had been taking pictures of the whole thing! It was so nice to have the pictures to remember this amazing moment by and to be able to share it with the rest of the family!
