I lived in Ct and Dan lived in Fl. We met after 9 years of talking on line through Yahoo Chat/Checkers. (I was 12 when we first started talking and he was 14...I lied to him about my age but eventually told him the truth). The story is lengthy so I will do my best to skip the small stuff. We talked almost everyday for YEARS until we got more into the dating seen. Then we talked a couple of times a month if that. We got more into emailing than phone calls. Then we talked about once a year when I was in a long term (4 year) relationship. The first 3 years he'd call me once a year to make sure I was happy. By the 4th year, I never heard from him. I HATED the ex and finally after 4 years broke up with him. And wouldn't yah know, that same week Dan contacts me. I told him I refused to talk to him unless we actually met. It had been 9 years of talking, it was time to meet. So, I decided I would take a vacation and go meet this guy. Well, we met and it was nothing less than perfect. He didn't want to be away from me and I didn't want to be away from him. He talked about moving up North but I told him no cause I hated Connecticut. So, after meeting him I decided he was worth moving for. Not even 3 months later, I was all packed and heading down to live with the man I always dreamed of being with. To this day, I don't regret up and leaving Connecticut. After 3 years of living together, he proposed to me while home for the Holidays. We were on a hike to the top of a Waterfall and we were both COMPLETELY winded. (Florida is a very flat state unlike Connecticut) Once we got to the top, he proposed. I instantly grabbed him and was hugging him and was shocked that it had just happened. I sit down and he sits next to me. I am looking at the ring and then up at him and he had this terrified look on his face. I was so excited I never actually said "yes", but I thought my reaction said it all. haha
