Heather

Heather and I have been going to church together for the past few years.. One day I was at a worship service and I was praying that god would put the right girl in my life :) I saw her up there singing and I felt the spirit come over me! (For those of you that don't know what that feels like.. it's much like the adrenaline feeling with goose pumps) I knew that god wanted me to pursue her.  I went to their father and asked him if I could see Heather. He told me that she was already seeing someone.. but at the time Holly (her sister) was available.. So, very much like my character I thought that maybe god wanted me to go for "the next best thing".. (no offence Holly) She is married now to a great guy named Jonathon, so it is obvious that I was wrong. Anyway, I went over to the Paine's house about 3 years ago to ask Holly out. She was commited to Jonathan and I didn't know about it.. Which also made it awkward around Jonathan at church. So I went on for about 2 more years without talking with Heather (on that level). While on deployment on the coast of Africa Heather facebook'ed me to see how I was doing.. That got me thinking ;) When I got back from deployment I bought a house and got caught up with the "civilian day to day lifestyle". That's when my room mate at the time (Greg) mentioned that Heather and Holly had interior design knowledge. (If you know me well enough you would know that I really don't care about that) I was very interested in calling Heather to come over and "look at the house and give me advice" aka get to know her better. She told me some stuff and left. I began to text her, and eventually talked her into having coffee. The way my brain works is that I am always thinking about business deals and stuff.. so I would actually interview her and ask her personal questions to see if she "qualified"..haha. It was awkward in the beginning. We had a few coffee dinner's and talked for a couple of weeks. Then I got fed up with how awkward it was around her, and told her that I thing we would be better as friends. I told god that if he wanted me to be with her to either have a pastor tell me, or that she would call me. I knew that she wouldn't after how that conversation went down. Well, she texted me about a week later and said "Mr. Conner, I think you may have made a mistake..haha I was so happy and we started talking again. Both of our schedules are high tempo and so it is very rare to see each other in the day time. After church and after work is when we "visit" one another.. I am getting tired of visiting my own fiance. She must live with me :) The rest is history!
