Happily married 🎉
July 3, 2010
Wedding details
We met in July of 2008 when Hugh came to visit Sahuarita High School, where he was considering taking a counseling position. Elizabeth was busy painting her classroom with her friends and was covered in paint the first time they met-but that didn't stop her from making a great first impression! After Hugh left, Breonna, Elizabeth's best friend, informed her that Hugh would be the perfect date to Breonna's upcoming wedding. Little did they know that within the next two years they would attend many weddings-one of which would be their own! Being the counselor assigned to work with career and technical education, Hugh spent a lot of time with Elizabeth and her culinary arts students. We spent a lot of time together at school functions that fall, and we started dating on Halloween, 2008, after going Trick or Treating for cans of food with Elizabeth's student organization, FCCLA. Impressed with Hugh's sense of humor and rapport with students, Elizabeth invited Hugh over for dinner later that weekend. The following week we took students to tour the culinary facitlity at the local community college, and as we stood outside the bus talking 25 teenagers opened the windows and serenaded us with the Little Mermaid's "Kiss the Girl" We went on our first date the following Friday, going country dancing at a local western bar. Elizabeth had never laughed so hard in her life, and when she called her sister that night she told her that this was the guy she was going to marry. Elizabeth was excited (and a little nervous) to meet Hugh's parents on their trip to Arizona that spring. It was on their trip to San Deigo that March that we began talking about a possible future together, and began making plans for the summer. We spent our first summer together traveling home to both Pittsburgh and Longmont to spend time with our families. Highlights of the summer include a trip to Ohio to visit Elizabeth's Aunts and Uncles and our tickets to see the Pittsburgh Penguins win the Stanley Cup. Our time in Colorado included the 4th of July fireowrks, a trip up to a cabin in the Rocky Mountains, visiting Laura at summer camp, and a lot of time spent with family and friends. When we returned to Arizona for the start of the school year we had big plans for the upcoming semester. Little did Elizabeth know that those plans included Hugh's proposal. You can read the story of our engagement by reading our blog: http://mrmrsgallagher.blogspot.com/ After we got engaged we were able to spend a week in Pittsburgh and a few days in Colorado, and it was special for us to celebrate with our families and friends. We knew we wanted to get married this summer, and we wasted no time beginning planning our wedding! Our story is just beginning!

Okay, I have most of my bridesmaid gifts pulled together but I want to get your thoughts. I got them personalized tote bags (which I got in the mail about a month ago), and then I'm also getting them...
Okay...I have an odd question. I have another post about inviting people, even though they might not show. It was mainly aimed at my aunt/uncle/cousins who live a few states away. I have decided to...
Is three months too early to send out invitations? We are having the wedding where we live, which is not where we are from, so most of the guest list will be traveling. Some websites say two months,...
