Mike asked me to marry him on a ski trip to Mt. Snow in Vermont. We had planned the trip months before, but finally booked it in January just a few short weeks before we were going to head there. We left our home in Massachusetts and arrived at the Grand Summit Hotel right at the base of the mountain about three hours later. After checking in and settling down for a few minutes we decided to research some places for a late lunch by perusing the local newspaper. As I was browsing the paper, Mike askd me to come sit down with him on the bed. Next thing I knew, he pulled the ring out from behind his back. Before he could even pop the question, I asked, "Are you serious?!?" When he did ask me a second later I said, "Yes, of couse I'll marry you!" and proceeded to cry my eyes out. I was completely surprised. We had been talking about getting married and even discussed the basic details of our future wedding along with perused rings on various jewelry websites. I just never expected him to ask when he did. For so long, he had been telling me it wasn't going to happen anytime soon that I believed him. Needless to say the rest of our vacation was wonderful. Neither of us could stop looking at the ring in amazement at how beautiful it is. A few weeks later, we're still glancing down at it every so often, but I think now we're over the initial excitement about the ring and much more excited about what it means for us and our future together.
