Our story literally begins as I was I was giving up on ever finding a guy who wasn't a jerk. I had been living on my own for about 2 years in Downtown Mechanicsburg,PA when I received a message on Myspace (when that was the cool thing) from a guy who had been on my friends list but really never checked him out before. It began as simply as him asking how far Tyrone, PA was from Mechanicsburg, PA was. I told him not sure since I had never been there before but I guessed about 2 hours. He later responded by saying that as soon as he became state side he would drive 2 hours to take me out for dinner. I know I know, cheesy pick up line but it worked...lol. Ron and I began talking via Myspace in October 2008, then exchanged e-mail and eventually phone calls. We maintained a internet/phone connection until January 29, 2009 when he had finally come back state side from Afganistain. He had a 4 day weekend and flew in to Harrisburg, PA and I picked him at 10pm. He wasn't wearing his ACU's but I knew exactly who is was when he walked off the plane. He walked right over to me and knew who exactly I was too. He picked me up gave me a huge kiss and hug and spun me around the room. I was so surprised but very happy. Now, never having met him in person proved to be a little bit awakward at first, but within the first 24 hours it was like we had known each other for years. After our 4 days of getting to know each other, I had to say goodbye once more and return him back to the airport for him to finish out his time in the military. He finally got out in April, 2009 and we continued the long distance dating thing. Me in Mechanicsburg, PA and him in Tyrone, PA, we would take turns as to who drove which weekend. Finally in February 2010, I was laid off my job in Mechanicsburg,PA but I had been looking for a job in the Tyrone/Altoona,PA area for a while and decided that this was the time to move. So, on Valentine's Day, I said goodbye to my hometown and make the 2 hours move north to Tyrone/Altoona,PA. I have been here since 2010 and we are even stronger then ever and getting married very soon!
