Wedding details
We met back in 2006, in Sparks, Nevada. It was Barbara's brother's birthday, and the family was hanging out at the Sparks Marina. Barbara's stepfather worked with Kayla's brother at a tow company based in Sparks, and the two had become close; as such, Kayla's brother and his family was invited to the birthday precedings - and, at that time, that "family" included Kayla, who had recently moved to the area for a fresh start. It wasn't quite love at first sight, but there was a friendship that started to build instantly. At the time, Kayla had a girlfriend, and Barbara hadn't come out of the closet yet, but that didn't stop us from spending more and more time together. It took a long time, and there were definitely quite a few obstacles, but in January of 2009, we finally admitted our feelings for one another. It was still a long process before we finally started dating in August of 2009, and when we officially got together in September it felt like we had known each other for a lifetime. Being the best of friends, the greatest of lovers, and - let's face it - absolutely adorable together, it became the obvious choice to take the relationship to the next level. In December of 2009, just three short months after our relationship had begun, Barbara popped the question with a cheap ring from a casino gift shop and a promise to trade up when money allowed. Together we picked out a gorgeous three-ring set that has symbolized our love ever since. However, the trials and tribulations were not over yet - there was still a long journey ahead of us, and a great many obstacles we still had to face. However, in 2012 we decided that we were still willing to make the journey despite everything standing in our way. Although our relationship has been far from perfect, the love continues to grow every day. Now as money is finally starting to sort itself out, we are finally ready to begin working on taking the next step and having a commitment ceremony. While we still will most likely have a private, strictly legal wedding followed by a larger ceremony down the line, we want to be sure that our friends and family feel welcome and are kept updated on our plans. We hope to see you at the ceremony!
