Ashley

It was a typically warm summer night in the city of Baltimore and the Orioles had just won a close game against the Indians.  Leif was down visiting Baltimore for the weekend for his college roommate's Bachelor Party.  After the game the party moved to Power Plant Live for the second night in a row, this time at the new PBR country bar. Ironically, Ashley was out on the town at a Bachelorette party of her own, for her best friend.  Leif was wearing a Red Sox shirt and hat that night.  Ashley, being an Orioles fanatic, decided to go tell him how she felt about it.   As the story goes, Ashley approached Leif and said, "so do you really think you can wear a Red Sox shirt in Baltimore?"  Leif, taken back by how beautiful Ashley was decided to kill her with kindness and replied, "well if it offends you that much I will just take it off."  She was shocked that anyone would do that so she began to talk to him a little more and they hit it off right away. Ashley found out that Leif was a baseball player and an all around good guy. She went up to her friend later and ironically said "I think I just met my future husband." They had their first dance together and Leif knew right away that there was something special about this girl.  They continued to dance as Leif would twirl her around and pull her back to him, as they sang the songs being played. Their chemistry was instant from the get-go.   By the end of the night they both were sad to see their time together come to an end.  Leif politely asked for Ashley's number because he wanted another night with her like the one they had just had. They texted back and forth after that night and Ashley realized that Leif was not only from the Boston area but that he was living there as well. She was upset because she thought maybe she'd meet up with him again but with the distance, there was no way. The two kept in contact over the phone through texts and calls.  As their calls got longer and the conversations got deeper, it was clear that they weren't going to let 450 miles keep them apart. Leif took the plunge first and decided to make his way down to Maryland for the long Labor Day weekend. They had a great weekend enjoying crabs, Bohs, and country living so Ashley decided to make the trip up to see him and the city life. They toured Boston and made some great memories so clearly this rendezvous wasn't going to end. They began to utilize cheap Southwest flights so they could spend every other or so weekend together and Skype at night during the week. Finally the distance became too much to handle and in March Leif would leave his family, friends, and everything he had ever known in Massachusetts to come to Maryland so he could spend more time with the girl he had fallen in love with.  Leif decided to take Ashley to Disney World for a surprise getaway for her birthday in June. Little did Ashley know, Leif had a little something burning a hole in his pocket the whole day as they explored Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. Leif proposed that night in front of Cinderella's castle during the fireworks display and she said YES amidst a face full of tears.   And so goes the story of how a boy from the city fell in love with a girl from the country.
