We first met when we became neighbors back before entering high school together. Throughout our high school years we became closer and closer. We were even voted best friends co-ed in our senior superlatives. Tom asked me out two times and both times I told him I couldn't because I didn't want to ruin our friendship. I would even tell my sister that someday I had hoped to marry a man like Tom. Then finally one day I realized I had fallen for him because I had started to become jealous when I heard other girls talk about him. This is when I knew I was ready to take it to the next step. I told him through a text message that I liked him and wanted to try dating. At first he didn't believe me, he thought I was with our other friends playing a joke on him, but I was serious. We started dating and after our very awkward first kiss we soon realized we couldn't live without each other. We moved in with one another after only dating for four months. We dated for seven years before Tom decided to propose but it was worth it. He proposed on our weekend trip to Niagara Falls Canada for our seven year anniversary! I found out later that he had asked my Mom and my Step Father about six months prior and was storing the ring at their house the entire time. My Mom and his Mom were so excited waiting to hear the news that they called one another to express their overwhelming joy while we driving to what would be one of the best days of our lives
