We selected the Historic Penn Wells Hotel as the venue for our wedding reception and we couldn’t have been happier for how it all turned put. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere completely unique, the staff courteous and professional, plus, what better place to have a reception with alcohol than a hotel? Jackie, our primary contact walked us through everything start to finish and was exceptionally prompt and professional in all her dealings with us. As a previous reviewer also noted, we, too, were long distance planning our wedding, and Jackie was very flexible in working with our schedules so we could meet with her. She had great suggestions for local professionals to help with all the wedding details, DJ’s, florists, etc. Although we opted for our own DJ and cake baker, the Hotel was more than happy to work with them to make everything run smoothly. The Hotel itself was very affordable given that we had them do all the food (full dinner buffet), appetizers, and open bar; the staff also did all the setup and tear down. We had a good size dance floor as well. We ordered flowers from Sam’s Club for centerpieces, dropped them along with what we wanted for décor at the Hotel on Friday afternoon and the staff used it all to decorate the room to perfection. Along with the rental, you get a complimentary room for your wedding night which was fabulous. You also get your names on the local movie theatre’s marquee, which we were able to use to get some great wedding pictures with. We had a lot of family and friends travel in from out of state and they all loved the Hotel and the town of Wellsboro itself, which has a little to offer everyone and all of it is within walking distance of the Hotel. We had 130 guests in total and there was plenty of space without seeming cavernous. The compliments to the hotel, staff, service, and town have been non-stop since the wedding! Moreover, we owe that to the Penn Wells for helping us mark the start of our lives together with such a beautiful day from start to finish.
