For our wedding this past Saturday, 10/27/2018 we rented a 30-person party bus to bring our bridal party and immediate families to our church and then from the church to the venue; and a large 50-passenger coach bus to bring guests from our hotel to the venue and then back to the hotel at the end of the night. Both vehicles were pristine (only saw pics and heard reviews from passengers on coach bus) and the party bus was even stocked with champagne and water for us. The driver of our party bus went above and beyond and was a true gentleman- unfortunately I’m forgetting his name! We had pretty heavy wind and rain the day of the wedding and he was so helpful in helping the women to and from the bus and helping to bring our many bags and umbrellas into the venue when we arrived. The party bus was timely and we were all very satisfied. The coach bus arrived to our hotel a full hour late. Thankfully, I scheduled for it to come very early, in the event the driver ran late. The company is based out of Island Park in LI and our hotel was in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, so I understand it’s a bit of a commute- and we had terrible weather which caused several accidents on the Belt Parkway. I’m just thankful I set the arrival time super early because if I hadn’t, our guests staying at the hotel would have missed the entire cocktail hour. They missed the first 20 minutes and thankfully our venue extended the cocktail hour by a half hour for us. The only other hiccup was that at the end of the night we scheduled for a suburban SUV to pick up my husband and me. The vehicle was on time, but they sent a stretch limo instead. Obviously we were fine with that because it was an upgrade, but as soon as the driver opened the door to let us in, he told my husband and I that we had a $100 balance. I asked if it was because of the vehicle upgrade, which we did not request, and he said no- that it was just because we hadn’t paid in full. In reality, we paid in full several months earlier. When we made this clear, he argued with us a bit and then dropped it. When we arrived at our house, he still insisted we owed another $100, so we had to show him our receipt, which clearly stated we paid in full. He still insisted that we owed money but had no documentation to prove this and my husband had to sternly tell him to leave. We haven’t heard from the company since, so I suspect the driver may have been trying to pocket the money.
