I spoke to a few florists before I got in touch with Flowers by Joan and I felt like I had wasted months futzing around when this gem of a florist was available to work with. When I connected with Jeannine, she probably thought I was somewhere between bridezilla and totally nuts, but it was because a few weeks earlier I’d spoken to a different florist who told me they thought my vision for flowers at my venue, Le Chateau, wouldn’t look good and I was hurt, embarrassed, and quite defensive. So when I got to chatting with Jeannine I launched into some rambling novella about flowers and what I wanted to achieve…and after listening without interrupting, Jeannine calmly summarized what I’d described and said “I think that sounds beautiful for a March wedding.” Jeannine & the amazing team at Flowers by Joan were so, so easy to work with the entire process of our wedding planning. I had last minute additions and subtractions to my order and there was no hesitation or questions about the possibility of it being completed. They built us a beautiful arch for our ceremony that stayed behind our table during our reception. Our center pieces were just gorgeous and exactly what I described in my bridezilla way, which was having arrangements low enough for guests to be able to see each other across the table but still elegant enough to feel like flowers were there. They installed pillars of flaring candles in between each arrangement and when the lights were low and all the candles were lit, it was gorgeous. My bouquet was so beautiful I’m having it preserved. I couldn’t even imagine leaving it behind. And finally, Jeannine learned how to make jaimala for us, which are ceremonial flower garlands. They were threaded with the same blooms from my bouquet and the centerpieces so it was all a cohesive look and design. Flowers were a really important part of our day. Our table names were all different flowers types (Dahlia, Daisy, Lily) and so we wanted our flowers to be beautiful. Jeannine understood and delivered when I asked her for arrangements that would meet my list of asks but minimize on waste. I cannot imagine our wedding day with any other florist. Thank you all so much.
