We truly could not have asked for a better wedding reception experience. From start to finish, everything was phenomenal, and we loved every part of working with this venue. The ballroom was stunning — elegant, spacious, and beautifully set up with gorgeous décor that made the entire room feel warm and elevated. The views were incredible and created the perfect backdrop for both photos and the overall atmosphere of the evening. The food deserves special recognition — it was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and our guests are still talking about how good it was. Every course was served seamlessly and right on time. Our coordinator was phenomenal. She was organized, calm, and attentive, making sure every detail was handled so we could fully relax and enjoy our night. The staff overall was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. From a value standpoint, this venue exceeded every expectation. The level of service, quality, and attention to detail we received made the experience feel incredibly worthwhile. Between the beautiful space, amazing food, and seamless coordination, it truly felt like an investment in a stress-free, unforgettable day—and I would choose this venue again in a heartbeat. This venue played such a huge role in making our wedding day unforgettable. If you’re considering hosting your reception here, I cannot recommend it enough — it was truly perfect in every way!! :)🤍

The Mendakota Country Club is a beautiful venue and we had the vision for how beautiful the course would be in the early fall for our wedding when we toured in the dead of winter!! Our photos throughout the day in multiple locations throughout the venue are stunning with beautiful greenery and waterfronts. MCC checked every box for what we looked for in a venue, including (but not limited to): the opportunity for an outdoor ceremony and flexibility in having both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the event including cocktail hour, onsite getting ready spaces, onsite catering with a variety of dinner options and a cohesive, one-level space (helpful and easy for family members with physical mobility issues) Adena was very responsive and by the end of our year and a half engagement, had responded to 200 emails, discussing details and answering questions for our big day! Jessica and Adena in partnership with our Day of Coordinator were able to manage many moving pieces and make our big day come together beautifully, and the waitstaff and barstaff were wonderful to work with. While we had a good experience overall with MCC, there were two day-of notes that did detract from our Big Day: We were told that the staff will “stop golfers” from teeing off at certain holes during the ceremony, however we had numerous golfers walk right behind our officiant during the ceremony and even one golfer approximately 15 feet from us saying our vows yelling to someone in the parking lot. While we understand it is a country club/golf course first and foremost, MCC charges couples a $1,200 onsite ceremony fee that should come with the expectations of no members on the first few holes of the course during the ceremony. During the reception, the temperature was not well maintained and by the time the dance floor was fully opened, all guests were profusely sweating. While there were industrial fans to help keep the room cool, it was not as effective as we would have liked, especially during an unseasonably warm day in mid-September.

My daughter recently had her wedding at Town and Country Club, and there was only one word to describe the event ..... PERFECT! Their special event and catering director Emma was so wonderful to work with. She was very organized and helped take the stress out of wedding planning. Everyone we worked with at Town and Country Club was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The chef was amazing! When we went to the tasting, he presented such beautiful and tasty plates of food, and he promised every plate served on the wedding day would look just as wonderful. And he was right! The food was amazing!! We chose walleye, boneless short rib, and parmesan chicken as our main entrees. All three meal choices were excellent, and people are still talking about how delicious and generous the food was and how beautifully it was presented. It was definitely not your typically wedding food. The other compliment we have been hearing over and over from our guests was how beautiful the venue and grounds were. We were fortunate to have gorgeous weather so we had a wonderful outdoor social hour. The lush green lawn and colorful flowers made everything look that much more festive and were a perfect backdrop for wedding photos. The indoor area was just as wonderful. The room was spacious, had a generous dance floor and bar area, and lots of beautiful woodwork and large chandeliers. The whole west side of the room had huge windows that overlooked the river and downtown skyline. The only decorations we added were some flowers, candles and greenery on the tables. I am so glad my daughter and son-in-law chose Town and Country Club for their wedding venue. It was so much easier to have a venue that provided everything, rather than having to coordinate separate catering and alcohol providers, rent linens, tables/chairs, lighting, sound systems, etc. I give Town and Country Club my highest recommendation.

Our day was incredible. I wanted to get married on the first hole and the work that Nicole and her team put in to make this a reality was amazing. The wedding day they made sure the breakfast we had for getting ready was set up as we arrived and they accommodated all the way through to the end of the night. I would highly recommend Southview as your place to get married, they have options on locations spots to get married and our day was one we will never forget.

We hosted our wedding here. The staff, venue, and food were amazing! I would absolutely recommend to others, as it was a great value, and a better experience!

PROS: Very friendly, accessible, patient staff. Handicapped-accessible facilities, including bathrooms. Competitive rates. No contracted catering service. Lots of parking. CONS: No food facilities; caterers must bring their own warming equipment and set up in the hallway outside of the reception room. No decorations outside of the building, including the lovely porch area outside of the building (sad!). The Phalen golf course clubhouse provides a spacious room on St. Paul's beautiful Phalen Park golf course. The room has areas for dancing, a wet bar, and ample table/seating space that can accommodate up to 225. Setup, takedown and staff time, as well as tables and chairs, are included in the $750 fee. Tablecloths and cloth napkins are available at a minimal expense. Though the website says that a per person fee is charged for offsite caterers, that stipulation was taken out of our contract; however, food must be prepared by a licensed caterer. Liquor must be provided via a caterer with a state catering license or an on-sale liquor license with the City, and requires an additional $100 for an off-duty uniformed police officer if strong beer (stronger than 3.2) or liquor are served. UPDATE: We had our wedding last weekend, and I can't say enough positive things about this venue. The staff are exceptionally helpful and it is easy to get in and take caterers, etc. for a site visit. I worked with the pro manager (it's a golf course clubhouse, after all), and she was *fantastic.* Responsive, good with questions I know I had asked before, excellent experience all around.

To show just how impressed we were with Prestwick Golf Club, I enjoy pointing out that the weekend we flew from Arizona to MN to attend a food tasting at our first venue choice was also the same weekend I visited Prestwick Golf Club and made the decision to switch venues. I had already paid a deposit on the first venue, not to mention the expenses of the weekend trip we made to MN specifically to taste the food at the first venue - it didn’t matter. Prestwick and the incredible staff blew the other venue out of the water!!! I am convinced it was one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process. Not only did everything about Prestwick completely impress us, but knowing our guests would be comfortable indoors but still have access to the outdoors via the terrace (oh, the terrace!!) took so much stress off of me and allowed me to focus on backup plans for other potential disasters and not worry at all about potential rain, humidity, wind or cold. The venue was perfect for everything we needed - a place to get ready in gorgeous bridal and groom suites with a dedicated server to bring food (and mimosas!), a stunning fireplace backdrop for our ceremony, impeccable grounds and masculine dark woods and leather inside for a vast array of photography options, food that stayed in our budget while tasting amazing and filling up our guests, and the space to host an 8 piece band with a large dance floor - must haves! Having the restaurant and bar on site was amazing as it allowed for our guests to sneak off for drinks and shots that weren’t offered at our reception bar. We did not have one single complaint about the venue - it was absolutely stunning and perfect! To top it all off, Prestwick is deceivingly affordable. You wouldn’t believe it just being a guest at a wedding there. The elegance and unique fusion of rustic English hunting lodge and French decor make this place feel like it’s worth at least twice what I paid for it. While the venue exceeded our expectations, it was really the staff - Molly, Jill and the banquet team that made our experience a 10 out of 10. Molly and Jill are the most amazing women to work with!!! We gelled instantly during our first tour, which wasn’t surprising because both ladies are so genuine and easy to work with. Every question I came up with in regards to ‘can we do this’ or ‘can we do that’, Molly’s answer was always ‘yes’, ‘yep’, or ‘as long as it doesn’t put a hole in the wall’. I felt like I truly had the freedom to design a wedding day the way we wanted it. We changed up the typical order of a wedding day (private ceremony for family first, then photos, followed by cocktail hour with with rest of wedding guests, dinner, and dancing) and Molly’s staff had zero problem accommodating our schedule and timeline. From our first emails all the way until our ‘wrap up’ session towards the end of the wedding night, Molly and Jill were so easy to work with and I could feel that they were genuinely excited for my wedding day! I would have been lost without them. Thank you to Molly, Jill and all of the staff for making our day beyond perfect. Do yourself a favor and check out Prestwick - you won’t be disappointed!! Robyn

Caitlin is such an amazing woman and wonderful to work with! We do not live in Minnesota so planning a wedding several states away was challenging, however, Caitlin made the process so much easier. Every question we had, Caitlin responded almost immediately and helped resolve any issues that came up. We highly recommend Midland Hills Country Club because it is such a beautiful venue, the staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and most of all, Caitlin made the process a breeze. Finally, we used Midland Hills Country Club’s vendor for the draping and the drapes were absolutely beautiful as well.
