Laura and her team are TOP NOTCH. Really one of the best decisions/vendors of our recent wedding. We got married on Tilghman Island and though we wanted a laid back menu, we also wanted really good food that was presented in an elegant way. I went back and forth many times, with a half-baked vision that Laura patiently helped me narrow down until it was just right. They REALLY delivered. Royal Oak catered our rehearsal dinner at our venue with crabs, fried chicken, potato salad, corn salad, and hushpuppies. The way they set up the tables and displayed the food was so, so perfect for the setting. I didn't have to give any direction, they just knew what we wanted and nailed it. Her staff was also so thorough: they kept food covered and constantly fanned the platters to protect it from any flies, cleared tables and crab gunk, etc. They were also incredibly kind and easy to be around. The food and the crabs were incredible. We have some picky eaters (especially when it comes to fried chicken) and foodies, and people were truly raving about the food. I can't explain to you how good that felt. She also recommended ice cream sandwiches for dessert-- which was just such a fun and perfect idea. Fast forward to the wedding itself. We did passed appetizers, a dip station, and an oyster shucker for cocktail hour. It was perfection. Dinner was "elevated barbecue" with brisket, chicken thighs, salads, and macaroni gratin. I overheard people raving about the food, and heard someone say that it was the best brisket they had ever had. Not just at a wedding, but ever. I also had a number of guests with dietary restrictions and my sister overheard one of my guests in the bathroom say that as a vegan she felt so taken care of; the staff checked in with her at the start of the meal to let her know they were aware. Those are the things that make a difference, and as someone who cares deeply about the experience of my guests, it brought me such joy to hear. Laura was so hands on in all the right ways, and really went above and beyond-- she was on site when the tent was being set up to make sure things were just so, she joined us for walk-throughs, came to the venue really early for set-up etc. The wedding would not have been as seamless without her attention to detail and true care. So, thank you Laura, the chefs, and all the wonderful staff. Having a tasty and elegant dinner for our wedding was the goal, and you exceeded every expectation. It is clear you take pride in what you do, and we are so grateful. I hope to upload some photos of the presentation when we get them back from our photographer!
