Nelson was a great fit for us. We were truly pleased with his professionalism, accountability, and attentiveness to our needs. He met us in person and shared samples and clips of his work, walked us through his approach, and made us feel completely comfortable. I was able to view his work both in person and on social media and I could see that he does exactly what we were looking for- a professional MC/host, with a great mix, able to blend and transition songs, and tuned in to get everyone out on the dance floor. He had a detailed questionnaire which helped us to schedule and outline our reception- and frankly, helped us figure out exactly what we wanted. Like many couples, we had a wide age range of guests, from different cultures-and we wanted to get them all dancing. He was able to work out a plan for us that included multiple rooms for cocktail hour and reception. He followed up with us regularly, and was available by phone whenever we needed him (and we did call several times). I know he put several hours of work into carefully planning our reception and meeting our needs.

Perhaps most importantly, he's been right there with us throughout this beast of a wedding season. Our wedding was scheduled for 3/21 and the event had to be cancelled on only a few days notice. He's since been a rock for us, helping us to figure out how to get rescheduled, and brought nothing but positivity and professionalism. As far as I'm concerned, he's held up his end- which is why I'm writing this review. I know he does good work- I've seen his performances. And leading up to every moment and detail of our wedding he performed at a five star level.

So please, as you look to schedule your next event- give Nelson your business, I'm confident you will be pleased.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Nelson. He was INCREDIBLE and honestly such a huge part of what made our wedding so much fun.

From the beginning, Nelson was personal, professional, and really took the time to listen to what we wanted. We had a somewhat difficult task for him—my family is from the country in Maryland, and my husband’s family is from Colombia, so we had two very different crowds, cultures, and styles of music to bring together. Somehow, Nelson did it absolutely seamlessly.

The dance floor was PACKED. He read the room perfectly, moved between American and Colombian music effortlessly, and kept the energy up all night. It genuinely felt like one big party rather than two different groups of people, which was exactly what we hoped for.

He was also an amazing MC—fun, natural, confident, and so good at keeping everything moving without ever making it feel forced or overly “wedding DJ.” He knew when to hype everyone up and when to just let the party happen.

We had an insanely fun wedding, and Nelson deserves so much credit for that. So many of our guests told us afterward how much fun they had and how great the music was. The task was not easy, and he absolutely nailed it.

Truly, if you want someone who listens to you, understands the crowd, keeps the vibes high, and can throw an incredible party, HIRE NELSON. We could not have asked for a better DJ. 10000/10!!!

Nelson perfectly played a very important role in our wedding. He was very flexible, kind, accommodating, and did an excellent job at gauging the vibe of the guests and played music according to the energy of the dance floor.

Nelson took the time to have multiple phone calls with us to make sure we were comfortable. He also sent us multiple draft outlines of the whole day and made custom mixes where we needed them for the reception. He was super open to hearing our ideas for our day and it was helpful to hear his expertise on topics as well to make sure we were balancing everything well. Would definitely recommend Nelson to keep your day running smoothly and keep the energy going! Thank you Nelson!

Nelson was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He took the time to have multiple calls with us before the wedding to go over every detail of the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. On the wedding day, he arrived early and set up seamlessly in three different locations—for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was professional, transparent, and made the whole process easy.

What really stood out was how well Nelson read the crowd. He knew exactly how to get the energy up, like right before the bridal party entrance, and he kept that momentum going all night long. He followed every request we had—even small details like finger-counting us into the first dances—and executed them perfectly.

Our guests couldn’t stop raving about him. Even days later, people are still telling us how incredible Nelson was and how much fun they had on the dance floor.

We can’t thank him enough for being such a huge part of making our day unforgettable. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants not only a smooth-flowing event, but also a celebration that people will be talking about long after it’s over.

We cannot say enough about how amazing Nelson was! From the very beginning, he was organized and professional, he created a seamless timeline that kept everything on track while allowing us to just enjoy our wedding day.

The music was perfect from start to finish. We are Dominican and had both Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking guests, and he blended everything beautifully. Everyone, family, friends, young, old was on the dance floor all night. He kept the energy high, the transitions smooth, and the crowd engaged every step of the way.

So many of our guests told us it was one of the most fun weddings they’ve ever been to, and that is thanks to him. If you want a DJ who not only plays great music but also manages the flow of the night and makes sure everyone has an incredible time, look no further. Truly unforgettable!

We had the pleasure to work with DJ Nelson and from our first initial meeting to our special day, he went beyond to give us the best experience. He was professional, knowledgeable and made our music selection process seamless. Our wedding guests were on the dance floor the entire night and he played all our favorite tunes. It was really special to have all the couples join us and dance to slow jams. We had a blast! I would highly recommend DJ Nelson for your wedding or any special event. Thank you, Nelson for everything.

If you are looking for a DJ who will make sure your wedding ceremony and reception are guided, organized, and popping, look no further! Nelson is very professional, very patient, very simple and very knowledgeable in his trade. He helped us with every aspect that we overlooked, and he was the heart of the reception. Highly recommended. Outstanding service. Your bridal budget will love the price as well! Larisa & Tony Calderon - Sep 2, 2023 Wedding in Leesburg, VA.

As the title says, DJ Nelson Vargas is probably the best vendor I've ever worked with. My search on WeddingWire was for someone who would focus on Latin music and, at least for my half of the family, someone who can speak Spanish. In Nelson I would find a great MC and coordinator. Nelson helped me and my now wife build up a timeline for the ceremony and reception, and also keep things tidy during the event itself. Nelson worked with me via email for almost 10 months, paying extra attention to detail on what I wanted and didn't want in both the planning and in the music selection. Also, he was very flexible with my changes, but do keep in mind this man is a professional. Lastly, what I can say after the event itself is that I know a lot of people who were asking about his contact info, that's just how good he is in his music selection and in reading the room (really, the dancefloor). I cannot recommend him enough.

Dj Xtreme is very professional and understanding of his customers needs. He is very thorough and organized when it comes to events. Also very trustworthy and dependable.
