Nelson was a great fit for us. We were truly pleased with his professionalism, accountability, and attentiveness to our needs. He met us in person and shared samples and clips of his work, walked us through his approach, and made us feel completely comfortable. I was able to view his work both in person and on social media and I could see that he does exactly what we were looking for- a professional MC/host, with a great mix, able to blend and transition songs, and tuned in to get everyone out on the dance floor. He had a detailed questionnaire which helped us to schedule and outline our reception- and frankly, helped us figure out exactly what we wanted. Like many couples, we had a wide age range of guests, from different cultures-and we wanted to get them all dancing. He was able to work out a plan for us that included multiple rooms for cocktail hour and reception. He followed up with us regularly, and was available by phone whenever we needed him (and we did call several times). I know he put several hours of work into carefully planning our reception and meeting our needs.

Perhaps most importantly, he's been right there with us throughout this beast of a wedding season. Our wedding was scheduled for 3/21 and the event had to be cancelled on only a few days notice. He's since been a rock for us, helping us to figure out how to get rescheduled, and brought nothing but positivity and professionalism. As far as I'm concerned, he's held up his end- which is why I'm writing this review. I know he does good work- I've seen his performances. And leading up to every moment and detail of our wedding he performed at a five star level.

Nelson was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He took the time to have multiple calls with us before the wedding to go over every detail of the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. On the wedding day, he arrived early and set up seamlessly in three different locations—for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was professional, transparent, and made the whole process easy.

What really stood out was how well Nelson read the crowd. He knew exactly how to get the energy up, like right before the bridal party entrance, and he kept that momentum going all night long. He followed every request we had—even small details like finger-counting us into the first dances—and executed them perfectly.

As the title says, DJ Nelson Vargas is probably the best vendor I've ever worked with. My search on WeddingWire was for someone who would focus on Latin music and, at least for my half of the family, someone who can speak Spanish. In Nelson I would find a great MC and coordinator. Nelson helped me and my now wife build up a timeline for the ceremony and reception, and also keep things tidy during the event itself. Nelson worked with me via email for almost 10 months, paying extra attention to detail on what I wanted and didn't want in both the planning and in the music selection. Also, he was very flexible with my changes, but do keep in mind this man is a professional. Lastly, what I can say after the event itself is that I know a lot of people who were asking about his contact info, that's just how good he is in his music selection and in reading the room (really, the dancefloor). I cannot recommend him enough.

Nelson Vargas was an amazing and fun MC/DJ for our wedding. He was able to hype the crowd and make sure we stayed on time for our events with announcements and following our cues. I appreciated the effort he put into our playlist - even going so far as to research a mashup of a song that I had invented. Unfortunately, there were no good versions but I appreciate the effort and the honesty that comes with telling me that. He paid attention to detail and worked with me on our timeline so the specific songs I requested for our ceremony, bridal party entrance, and special dances were perfect. He can read a room - even though I didn't specify anything for the reception or cocktail hour he understood what the crowd wanted. My father - a man who NEVER dances - was even dancing! Yes, it could have been because the Aunties were dragging him out to the dance floor but the fact that he kept it up most of the night, tells me the DJ also must have had a little something to do with that. I'm still hearing how much fun everyone had and Nelson Vargas definitely contributed to their enjoyment of the evening. He was funny, charming, professional, and he knows good music - highly recommend!

WOW! I don't even know where to begin. From the beginning, Nelson was professional, friendly, and so helpful! During our first meeting, my (now) husband and I explained our vision to him, how we wanted our music to be a blend of both of our wildly different music tastes (we're talking top 40, latino music, classic rock). Nelson listened to us and delivered 100 times over. Our wedding was a blast, we received so many compliments for our DJ pick. There's a reason Nelson has been doing this for over 15 years, it's because he's freaking good at it! Please hire him, I promise you won't regret it!
