Nelson was a great fit for us. We were truly pleased with his professionalism, accountability, and attentiveness to our needs. He met us in person and shared samples and clips of his work, walked us through his approach, and made us feel completely comfortable. I was able to view his work both in person and on social media and I could see that he does exactly what we were looking for- a professional MC/host, with a great mix, able to blend and transition songs, and tuned in to get everyone out on the dance floor. He had a detailed questionnaire which helped us to schedule and outline our reception- and frankly, helped us figure out exactly what we wanted. Like many couples, we had a wide age range of guests, from different cultures-and we wanted to get them all dancing. He was able to work out a plan for us that included multiple rooms for cocktail hour and reception. He followed up with us regularly, and was available by phone whenever we needed him (and we did call several times). I know he put several hours of work into carefully planning our reception and meeting our needs.
Perhaps most importantly, he's been right there with us throughout this beast of a wedding season. Our wedding was scheduled for 3/21 and the event had to be cancelled on only a few days notice. He's since been a rock for us, helping us to figure out how to get rescheduled, and brought nothing but positivity and professionalism. As far as I'm concerned, he's held up his end- which is why I'm writing this review. I know he does good work- I've seen his performances. And leading up to every moment and detail of our wedding he performed at a five star level.
So please, as you look to schedule your next event- give Nelson your business, I'm confident you will be pleased. -

Best (Wedding) DJ ever!
Nelson was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He took the time to have multiple calls with us before the wedding to go over every detail of the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. On the wedding day, he arrived early and set up seamlessly in three different locations—for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was professional, transparent, and made the whole process easy.
What really stood out was how well Nelson read the crowd. He knew exactly how to get the energy up, like right before the bridal party entrance, and he kept that momentum going all night long. He followed every request we had—even small details like finger-counting us into the first dances—and executed them perfectly.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about him. Even days later, people are still telling us how incredible Nelson was and how much fun they had on the dance floor.
We can’t thank him enough for being such a huge part of making our day unforgettable. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants not only a smooth-flowing event, but also a celebration that people will be talking about long after it’s over. -

We cannot say enough about how amazing Nelson was! From the very beginning, he was organized and professional, he created a seamless timeline that kept everything on track while allowing us to just enjoy our wedding day.
The music was perfect from start to finish. We are Dominican and had both Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking guests, and he blended everything beautifully. Everyone, family, friends, young, old was on the dance floor all night. He kept the energy high, the transitions smooth, and the crowd engaged every step of the way.
So many of our guests told us it was one of the most fun weddings they’ve ever been to, and that is thanks to him. If you want a DJ who not only plays great music but also manages the flow of the night and makes sure everyone has an incredible time, look no further. Truly unforgettable! -

We had the pleasure to work with DJ Nelson and from our first initial meeting to our special day, he went beyond to give us the best experience. He was professional, knowledgeable and made our music selection process seamless. Our wedding guests were on the dance floor the entire night and he played all our favorite tunes. Nelson Vargas was an amazing and fun MC/DJ for our wedding. He was able to hype the crowd and make sure we stayed on time for our events with announcements and following our cues. I appreciated the effort he put into our playlist - even going so far as to research a mashup of a song that I had invented. Unfortunately, there were no good versions but I appreciate the effort and the honesty that comes with telling me that. He paid attention to detail and worked with me on our timeline so the specific songs I requested for our ceremony, bridal party entrance, and special dances were perfect. He can read a room - even though I didn't specify anything for the reception or cocktail hour he understood what the crowd wanted. My father - a man who NEVER dances - was even dancing! Yes, it could have been because the Aunties were dragging him out to the dance floor but the fact that he kept it up most of the night, tells me the DJ also must have had a little something to do with that. I'm still hearing how much fun everyone had and Nelson Vargas definitely contributed to their enjoyment of the evening. He was funny, charming, professional, and he knows good music - highly recommend! -

WOW! I don't even know where to begin. From the beginning, Nelson was professional, friendly, and so helpful! During our first meeting, my (now) husband and I explained our vision to him, how we wanted our music to be a blend of both of our wildly different music tastes (we're talking top 40, latino music, classic rock). Nelson listened to us and delivered 100 times over. Our wedding was a blast, we received so many compliments for our DJ pick. There's a reason Nelson has been doing this for over 15 years, it's because he's freaking good at it! Please hire him, I promise you won't regret it! -

He is always willing to help and to take the time to talk things through. As an anxious bride I could not have done it without Nelson. Nelson was perfect for our wedding! From the very first conversation we had to establish what we were looking for our wedding, we immediately knew Nelson was the DJ for us. We were specifically looking for a bilingual DJ, so it was a perfect that he spoke both English and Spanish fluently. He took his time to get to know our style, what we wanted and gave us plenty of ideas. He was very organized, responsive and helpful during the entire process. We requested a mix of spanish and english music and he played the perfect amount of both. For our first dance my husband and I did a spanish/english song combination and Nelson created a beautiful mix of the two songs for us. He was also able to provide up/lighting for our reception which made the atmosphere perfect. Most importantly our wedding was SO FUN and our guests were on the dance floor the ENTIRE time. We received so many compliments from every guest about how great the music was and how fun everything turned out. Highly recommend his services! -

He was easy to work with and took all of our song considerations. We spoke prior to the event to schedule an outline and he made us feel so relaxed about our big day! He added such special touches throughout the night and kept a large group on the dance floor the whole evening. I would recommend him to anyone planning a wedding! You will be in great hands. -

Absolute Perfection
Total professional. Not enough words to describe his ability to truly keep an event rolling. Showed up earlier than projected and everything was set up and ready to go for our ceremony. Had two set ups due to ceremony outside and reception inside. Audio and microphones were crystal clear. Projected our names on the wall over the bar which was top notch and the total flare was the smoke while dancing! The dance floor stayed PACKED the entire evening. Young to old was out on the dance floor. Trust me this is one you MUST book. Not enough words to express our gratitude and appreciation for his work. Our guests are still complimenting him 3 days later. -

We first found Nelson in 2019 when we went to tour our venue and he happened to be setting up for a wedding that same day. From our first meeting and through the postponement of our wedding, Nelson was very helpful and always made himself available. He took away stress leading up to our new wedding day, by laying out exactly what we needed to provide to him. He offered great suggestions, a very thorough outline for the day of and made our vision his top priority. We felt in great hands and had no worries going into our big day. The day of the wedding he arrived to the venue ahead of schedule to ensure he would be set up and ready when our guests arrived. He took care of everything perfectly. We are so happy with his services and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing DJ and MC for any event!! -

When me and my wife first started planning this wedding two years ago, we instantly knew Nelson or DJ Xtreme Sound was going to be the DJ we wanted at our wedding. He was personable, professional, flexible, and Xtremely (sorry couldn't resist) knowledgeable.
I say two years ago, because in between that time and our wedding May 21st of 2021 we were dealt a lot of bad hands. My wife was diagnosed with cancer, and then COVID happened. Nelson was still in contact with us, flexible to our hurdles in life and stayed with us for the entirety of planning and partaking in this ceremony.
Day of he arrived early, knew exactly what needed to be done, help us figure out the best way to setup and walked through the event with us. He made sure to pronounce everyone's names right (and I know that might not sound like a big deal to some people but it is to us). He knew exactly how to hype the crowd up and played exactly what we requested.
I will recommend him to everyone I know, and if you need an MC or DJ for anything, anything at all, then this is the person you should choose. Nelson thank you for sticking with and helping us and going the extra mile. That night will be one we remember forever. -

DJ Nelson did our party and we had the best time ever. He was very organized from the beginning, helped us choosing some of the songs based on the few ones we gave him. He was an excellent MC. He did it in English and Spanish. He interacted with our guests while on the dance floor. Very professional. He also has a great sense of humor. Nelson is SUPER AMAZING! We knew the moment we met him at the Wedding Expo that he was the perfect MC/DJ for us! DJ Xtreme Sound is a true professional. He is very responsive, you never have to wait long for an answer to any question; and he is attentive to all details. He helps come up with ideas to make sure the event is perfect! He is great at working with all electrical and access areas at the venue. He arrives no less than 2 hours in advance to make sure that set up is complete before start time. During the ceremony, he is great at reading the dance floor to keep the party going. He will take requests but will recognize if they will interrupt the flow. He is a true master of ceremony as he interacts with the crowd and is wonderful at making announcements as needed. If you want a great event or a wonderful memory, I would definitely recommend DJ Xtreme Sound. -

Nelson is professional and wonderful to work with! I wanted to let other brides know he is fantastic. We were looking to have some elements of a bi-lingual reception and he had some great ideas. He was also very flexible with our set-up and made excellent suggestions. He was also excellent with communication, he kept us on track every step of the way.
Sadly, we weren't able to have Nelson as our DJ for our final wedding date, as he has booked for another wedding (no surprise- he is awesome!). We've had a few set-backs with our wedding to include, the groom was in a bicycle accident two weeks before our original date in 9/2019. Nelson was so kind and understanding during the postponement process. He was able to reschedule for our next date, which has now been postponed because of COVID-19. We are just so thankful for the compassion and kindness Nelson showed during this ordeal. However, we had such an amazing experience working with him, it was important for use to leave a review and let other couples know he is marvelous. -

Awesome Xtreme went above and beyond what I expected
Nelson “DJ Xtreme Sound” is an incredible DJ!! My wife and I could not have asked for a better experience. Nelson was attentive to all the detail, was extremely helpful from the beginning to the end making sure that our vision was exactly what we wanted. He provided Ceremony, Cocktail and Reception sound, Dancing on the cloud effect and Up-Lighting to present an amazing display for us and our guests. He provided a professional outline to help coordinate the day and the flow of the event was amazing. Nelson truly promised and delivered the perfect wedding reception!
My wife and I are forever grateful that Nelson was a part of our wedding. I highly recommend him and Xtreme Solutions! -

Our wedding reception on Oct 5th 2019 was the best day of my life and I believe it is in large part due to the vendors we utilized for the reception.
DJ Nelson with Xtreme Solutions was extremely professional when we contacted him regarding DJ services. We had a first hand experience at my cousin’s wedding a year or two prior so we knew he had the talent. He sent us a contract soon after speaking to us. He followed up a few times prior to the reception to help us fill out a “wedding questionnaire" that my husband and I filled out to indicate songs and announcements we wanted at the event. When he sent the worksheet, Nelson was a text or phone call away to answer any questions or give recommendations.
We actually met Nelson in person for the first time the night of the reception. As often happens, we began to fall behind regarding timing of certain aspects of the ceremony/reception but Nelson was able to adapt and adjust on the fly. He played ALL of the music we requested, from latin hits for my family and even the Persian music my husband and his Iranian family suggested. Where Nelson really shines through is in his class and energy—he was in tux our reception night, shined in announcing in our bridal party and toasts, and picked the perfect hits for our HORA LOCA! Which he single handedly helped us plan within a week of the wedding, everyone loved it!
Nelson is a phenomenal DJ/MC and I would use him again in the future. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a DJ/MC for your reception. -

Even thought this comes late, we want to thank and show our appreciation for how great Nelson Vargas (DJ Xtreme Sound) made our wedding on June 21, 2019 at the Holiday Inn. Words simply cannot describe how DJ Xtreme Sound made our wedding day such an incredible success. To make the story short, three months before our wedding, I found out I was 6 months and two weeks pregnant and I had absolutely no idea!! Our baby was due one month before our big day. We don’t even know how DJ Xtreme Sound did such an amazing job because all the planning, reviewing details, timelines, playlists, and more was done thru phone calls and emails. He was always so responsive and really helped us figure out what would work best any time we were indecisive. He took the time to understand our music preferences and did a great job with introductions and announcements. DJ Xtreme Sound went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having fun on the dance floor and kept us on track with our timeline during the whole night. DJ Xtreme Sound was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! Thank you DJ Xtreme Sound!! -

We met Nelson/DJ Xtreme Sound at a wedding expo and immediately clicked with him! From the get-go, Nelson was very professional and, after making us a 10-minute custom mix, made it an easy choice to pick him for our wedding.
We are convinced that we couldn't have picked a better DJ! Nelson was extremely professional and was seriously the best wedding DJ we've ever heard. We continue to have friends and family tell us how much fun they had and that they've never danced that hard at a wedding before! Having a fun dance party was one of our top wedding priorities and DJ Nelson did not disappoint. Thanks for helping make our wedding such an amazing event!

The best thing I can say about Nelson was that he got the whole crowd excited and into the wedding. My husband and I come from different backgrounds- he is Dominican, I am Caucasian - but Nelson played music that fit everyone's taste. In the end, one vendor came up to me and said "where did you find your DJ? I have been to a lot of weddings and he is the best DJ I've seen!" -

Nelson (DJ Xtreme Sound) did a GREAT job of DJ-Ing my event! He made my event go extremely smooth and he actually went above and beyond to make sure that I didn’t have any worries while my event was going on! He got to my venue super early to make sure that he had everything ready and set for the party to begin. Nelson was very easy to work with, very attentive to the littlest detail and and flexible to needs. He set up has a very neat and clean look to it. His uplighting did wonders for my event and really to it up a notch. Overall I would highly recommend DJ Xtreme Sound to DJ not only a regular event, but I would higher his services for any type of event that I or my family and friends would have. -

Best DJ for any event!
I have been lucky enough to know Nelson (DJ Xtreme) now for several years. Have seen him perform at multiple Night Clubs around town and always loved his music. I referred him to multiple friends that had amazing experiences with him. Ultimately, being able to hire him for my own. The experience was outstanding from his initial consultation where he explained the entire wedding ceremony and process. To recommending locations and other services. It's obvious from the get go that he has lots of experience and takes pride in what he does. From providing us a form to fill out with what we expected and hoped for at our event to recommending music and a timeline to setting up rehearsals he was in-charge. Almost like an event planner. The day of he showed up early to setup and make sure everything looked amazing. His lighting is what really made the room come alive and made the venue that much nicer. His sound equipment is top notch with clear sound. He was also able to do sound in multiple rooms which we didn't think would be possible. He truly made the event a night to remember with his excellent selection of music and his MCing. Everyone danced all night, he knows how to read the crowd and play to what they want. It was so good we paid him for an extra hour because no one wanted to leave. I highly recommend him, he is worth every penny! Thank you Nelson! -

Beyond Expectations
When you have 90+ teenagers attending a Sweet 16th birthday party. There is no one better than Nelson. It starts out with a meeting with parents and the child regarding types of music, genre, etc. Nelson provides some suggestions which we didn't think about based on his experience and then the fun begins. When the evening arrives, Nelsons set up is unbelievable, there are lights, uplighting, strobes, and my daughter's name projected on the wall. Absolutely amazing. When the party starts, he is non stop. My daughter and her friends all 90+ were dancing to current hits and he even found youtube music some kids requested. These kids had an amazing time and my daughter's friends were talking about the party the next school day. He even suggested us having a program that each kid can post their own fun picture via cell phone on the many monitors Nelson provided. Very cool. Nelson created memories for my daughter and her friends and for that my wife and I are grateful. Nelson was dressed neatly and always had a smile and interacted with the kids. They absolutely loved him. The parents of the kids that attended have all asked me the contact information of Nelson because they heard how much fun it was. In my family, we will always hire and recommend DJ Xtreme Solutions. In fact, my son turns 16 soon. So Nelson will be getting a call to schedule. Thank you again, Nelson! -

Xtreme Solutions was the best decision we made. I knew from day 1 that we would be using the same DJ that my friend used when she got married, Nelson. He is undeniably the best DJ in the DMV area. He reads the crowd, and ensures that the party keeps moving. Nelson has an amazing set of skills, that ensures that your day will go by without a glitch. Before the party, Nelson asked all the questions you never would have thought of on your own to have the perfect party. If you are considering Xtreme Solutions, I would absolutely recommend it. We didn't book our event until we knew Nelson was available! -

I met the owner of Xtreme Solutions while he was DJing another wedding. I was immediately impressed with his ability to cater to the crowd and his ability to appeal musically to all ages. Therefore, I recommended him for my friend’s wedding.
We hired him and he far exceeded our expectations. He has amazing DJ equipment, arrived extremely early to ensure set up went smoothly, followed along with the bride’s requests for music throughout the event, was so professional to work with before, during, and after, and kept the dance floor packed! He wore a smile throughout, positive attitude, and catered to any of our musical requests.
I was simply overjoyed with Xtreme Solutions and would highly recommend him for any wedding or event. Two thumbs up! -

Packed the dance floor!
Nelson came highly recommended from a friend. We were initially skeptical planning a bilingual wedding with very different dance abilities/preferences across our 2 families. Nelson knocked it out of the park! The dance floor was packed the entire night, with many guests commenting that it felt like a big dance party and was the most fun wedding they had ever attended.
Nelson was very organized and had us fill out a form with our song requests for all the major moments in the ceremony/reception. We did send a lengthy song request list for the reception, but provided only a few requests for cocktail hour, and were very pleased with the range of music all night.
The purple uplighting was also a nice touch. Very reasonably priced for 5+ hours.
Highly recommend Nelson! And especially if you’re planning a bilingual (Spanish/English) wedding. -
