Absolutely stunning photos! Wonderful to work with! Highly recommend!

Dan and Connie Swain along with their assistant photographed our wedding in June 2012 and we could not have been happier with the results! They were a pleasure to work with, very reasonably priced, open to going to multiple locations to shoot between the wedding and reception and really captured the feelings of the entire day/night! They have also been great to work with in creating our wedding album and very patient with all of the changes I have made. I would highly recommend the Swain's and since our wedding, two of our friends/ family have booked them for their upcoming weddings!

Dan Swain was very professional and patient. He really listened to my husband and I's wants and needs and made our wedding photos and album more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. His wedding photography packages are very reasonable and worth every penny. Dan is very reliable. He was always on time and always emailed or called when he said he was going to. I can't say enough good things about Visions Photography by Swain.

Words do not describe how amazing Visions Photography by Swain were with out engagment pictures and especially our wedding day. They captured every moment and the pictures are breath taking. They are wonderful, nice people to work with and work around and do everything that you ask. I could not have asked for a better photographer for our day. I highly recomend them. They are amazing!!

I choose Visions Photography by Swain after meeting with Dan personally. He is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and has been a full-time wedding photographer for many years. He has a truly unique talent, which is apparent in the beautiful photograpahs that he takes. My husband and I were very happy with both our engagement and wedding photographs, as were our families. On our wedding day, Dan and Connie were timely and very professional. They were friendly towards our guests and were flexible when it came to suggestions on wedding poses. My husband and I were delighted that Dan and Connie were able to photograph our wedding and make one of our most cherished days of our lives so memorable.

I have to leave this review. To start, I do want to say that Dan is a very nice person. He made everyone very comfortable and was very professional. However, he did a terrible job capturing my wedding and I am left heartbroken over our pictures.
I booked Dan through Elm Ridge Event Center through their all-inclusive package, so we didn't technically choose him. For the 10 months leading up to my wedding from booking, I did not hear a single thing from Dan. Eventually, he did reach out to have me fill out a form about names and such. There was nothing in this form and no communication about what we wanted when it came to our photos. He didn't request a shot list, Pinterest boards, or anything that a photographer usually does. No problem, I sent it all to him in an email about a week before the wedding, with some questions that I had. I made it very easy for him to see exactly who and what we wanted pictures of.
The day of the wedding comes, and I could tell immediately that we would be missing a lot of photos. Throughout the day, Dan would take a couple pictures and then ask what else we wanted (I do have to give him credit for that). But I was the bride and was not in the headspace to think about what pictures I wanted and what was missing. That is his job, and why I sent him a shot list. This made me very, very worried.
It took 8 weeks for us to get our pictures back, and he sent about 450. I'm not a photographer, but we had him with us for 8 hours. I feel like that is a very small number of photos for the amount of time. But I could be wrong on that. My biggest complaint is all of the pictures that are missing. All of the moments that are missing. For example, there is one single picture of me walking with my dad, from a certain angle, before we reach the aisle. And my eyes are closed. There are no more from that moment. The pictures from the ceremony are terrible. There are heads in the way in every single one of them (this is a trend in a lot of our pictures). Not a single picture of just the two of us. There are only about three pictures of us with our bridal party, even though I had sent a whole Pinterest board of what I wanted. I think the worst part, though, is the complete lack of photos of just my husband and I. We got a single posed portrait, and then like three poses of us afterwards. No candids. No veil photos. No pictures from my Pinterest board. I am so, so crushed that our pictures came out the way they did.
I want to reiterate that Dan is a very nice person, and he is very professional. I think he just has a very, very old-fashioned style and is not willing to modernize. If you just want the basics, and care more about professional portraits than candids and moments, then Dan will be good for you. I just feel that he isn't what a lot of couples are going to be looking for for their weddings.
I hate leaving this review. I wasn't going to because I'm sure he worked hard and is a great person. But I realized that I wish there was a review like this one out there for me because I had no idea that it was going to go this way.

Very disappointed in this photographer. Let's start with how they acted at my wedding. They were rude to my family, rolled their eyes when I requested formal photos with extended family, and were rushing me the entire day. I can appreciate them trying to keep me on schedule that day as it is very easy to get behind, but if I want a picture with my pastor, please don't give me attitude about it!
And you can forget about emailing as a form of communication- they are TERRIBLE at responding. Several times (both before and after the wedding) I had to call them because I hadn't heard back via email. I'm actually still waiting on a response about our photo book.
Having family come and complain to me on my wedding day was irritating. they did not make my day at all less stressful, and we got average pictures out of it. I would not recommend this photographer.
