Melanie is such a gem and such a special person and SO talented. Not only does she take beautiful photos (I mean, have you seen her portfolio/website? STUNNING), but our whole experience with her was so fun that it felt like we were just hanging out with a friend with amazing photography skills as a bonus. Our guests also told us numerous times how professional and yet also down to earth Melanie is. Plus, she has a fun way of getting any of your kiddos to smile :) She also somehow has a sneaky way of getting all the great shots without being smack dab right in front of you when you're mingling with the guests/dancing, allowing you to enjoy the moment and make you not feel like you're always posing for the camera. We can't thank her enough on how much she played such an important part leading up to our special day and day of. Highly Highly recommend Under the Redwoods Photography!!

We couldn't have had a better experience with Melanie as our wedding photographer. I interviewed several photographers before chatting with Melanie, and I knew as soon as we chatted that she was the one for us. My husband hates taking pictures, but I knew that Melanie's approach in getting know us through our engagement session and lighthearted nature would out us at ease. Melanie captured absolutely stunning pictures of our big day and we couldn't be more grateful to have them too look back on to remember all of the big and small moments.

I love Melanie she got me in touch with our officiant Meredith. Melanie helped us plan our elopement with finding my officiant, deciding in the location and took beautiful photos. She was willing to hike to our location. 3hrs of photography and we got almost 400 photos. We would highly recommend her.

Aaron and Melonie were absolutly AMAZING! So worth it to have them photograph our special day and our engagements. Photos to be cherished forever. Their photos capture more than just the moment, the capture the feeling in the moment!

I knew I wanted to book her as my wedding photographer! From the very start she was so accommodating to anything we needed! Not only are her photography skills amazing and so unique, but she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. My husband and I eloped so he and I were going to drive to the ceremony together, but Melanie insisted that she come pick me up (even though it was very out of the way) so that my husband and I could be in separate cars and have a real "first look" before our ceremony. Then she drove us all over lake Tahoe to make sure we found the spots with the prettiest backgrounds for our photos. She even packed me extra gloves and a beautiful coat because it was so cold! Even though the cold didn't phase her. She handled the 9 degree weather like a champ! Melanie had everything together to make sure our day went so smoothly. I seriously felt as if she was a full service wedding planner, in addition to a photographer. Her work is truly amazing and I could not be happier with our wedding photos! They look magazine worthy <3 Thank you Melanie SO SO much! You are one of a kind! xoxo

Melanie and Aaron are amazing. They make you feel so comfortable and are very easy to work with. Every aspect that I said was important to me was addressed. I used them for my wedding and engagement photos. Your wedding day goes by so fast, and they provided me with moments and memories that will last a lifetime! I cannot even begin to explain how much we loved working with Aaron & Melanie on our wedding day! They were so much fun to be around all day! We realized that every time throughout the day that we thought, we should probably get a picture of this, we would look up and they were already there. And now looking at the pictures we get to relive all the moments of our wedding day, and even those that we missed. Their ideas for poses, locations and the crazy props were just awesome! Eric and I had the pleasure to work with Aaron and Melanie for our wedding in May 2014 at Lake Tahoe. I was looking for a photographer that was creative and willing to try new ideas, and provide professional guidance. We could not be happier with our choice. After meeting with Aaron to discuss ideas I knew we had the right people. Both Aaron and Melanie made everyone feel at ease, captured the perfect moments, and you didn’t really know they were there. They were professional, timely, and stuck with plan, coordinating with our other vendors/planners. I also strongly encourage people to take advantage of the photo booth, always a good time and some of my favorite photos. It was also nice to give the guests a chance to take a photo with them from the photo booth as they printed them right there. Looking through our beautiful album Aaron and Melanie created for us, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. All the photos were gorgeous, in the perfect rustic style.

We love Aaron! After coming highly recommended by our planners we decided to go with Underwood Photography for our wedding in Lake Tahoe and it was a choice we will never regret.

They are not your "mothers photographers" and totally blew us away. They stayed out of the way and didn't take over the day like other photographers can (we've all seen it happen). Totally professional, a pure joy to deal with and delivered us photos that we will never forget.
