Needless to say, I was not impressed with Ulta salon in the least :(
I went in for my 'test run' of hair an makeup. After confirming several times with the lady on the phone that the price was 35 for hair AND makeup...she even put me on hold 2 times to confirm with someone else...I got in and was charged 80. The manager Oscar quicky corrected it, but everyone I encountered there was rude and acted as if I was making the price of 35 up...like I wanted a better deal. You could take 1 look at my hair and refund my money ~ the girl did such a poor job.
I called back and talked to the receptionist about my hair and asked for someone else because I didn't like the ability nor the attitude of Danny (my stylist that day). The receptionist refused and said that she was the best one for updos. She proceeded to act as if I was a troublesome customer when I just wanted my hair to look good. Danny threw pins in and didn't smooth anything out at all ~ made it look like a rat's nest at the 'run through' and the day of the wedding. I ended up going back to her because it was too late to cancel all appts. that I made (6 in all) and no one else was open Sundays.
My girl was Danielle who goes by Danny. I was unhappy with her work ~ she said she was only doing hair for 2 years...it showed. She quickly threw my hair up...didn't pay attention at all to a picture I brought in (very simple to do...I am not exaggerating or anything ~ it was SIMPLE I could even do it myself). She had issues with it ~ and it looked terrible. I finally told her to try something else. She acted as if I was changing my mind too much BUT in reality ~ I realized she couldn't do what I was asking her to do and moved on to something else that might be easier for her. The end result was her belittling me with sarcastic remarks on my wedding day (after she was an hour late to the appointment) and then she went to talk to the beautician about me (as if I couldn't hear them out front) and how terrible I was to work with.
I went to the 'beautician' which is really like a store-front clinique makeup person in the mall or something. She originally tried to cover me in dark makeup, I asked her to try a bronze natural look and she argued with me about how I need something darker. I informed her that my fiance doesn't like a lot of makeup and I want to look natural ~ she argued again and said I needed the darker shade. After about 1/2 hour of me telling her to try another color ~ she finally submitted. WHAT? ridiculous. When I came back on the wedding day (after my hair lady told her about me being a terrible customer) the lady was trying to please me as best as she could. I said I never wore base makeup or powder and also said I didn't want to if it made me look like I had a 'mask' on for my pictures. She assured me I wouldn't...well I did. I had a pure white mask around my face on all my wedding pictures because of the makeup choice she made. It did not allow light through and acted as a mask :( Whatever.
I ended up paying for all of my bridesmaids and my mother so my tab was higher than usual. It was 80 normally.
I am never going to go to this salon again ~ with the exception of a WONDERFUL lady that waxed me named Hailey. She is an asian woman that was so wonderful and does hair great. That is the only good thing this salon has going for them. They are all full of attitude and meanness, it's amazing how they survive, really it is.

The best thing about Ulta the day of my wedding was the fact that they still had time to fit me in even after I was running late to my own wedding. :) That was nice and they got right down the buisness. Maybe not the best, but still got right to it. After we were done. I was dissapointed. This was supposed to be one of the best days of my life. The colors were not what I asked for. It didn't bring out my eyes. There was make up all over one eye and only on half of the other. It was a disaster. The lipstick was cheapish and ugly. I had to rub off what I could and fix some. I never got it back the way I wanted, but I at least fixed her mistakes. Now I look like a clown in most of my pics, but it's not as bad as it was. Do not use Ulta!
