About

The UCLA Faculty Club is a wedding venue located on the grounds of UCLA, in Los Angeles, California. Originally established as a meeting point for faculty and staff, it is no surprise that this ranch-like space lends itself to social gatherings. The one-story building embodies a mid-century modern aesthetic, and the wooden exterior exudes a homely and welcoming ambiance. Surrounding the main building are picturesque parklands and majestic trees. The environs are ideal for taking wedding photographs under the uplifting glow of the Californian sunlight.

Facilities and Capacity

The Morrisson Room (formerly California Room) is the principal reception area at the UCLA Faculty Club. It features a cathedral style roof complete with wooden beams. The classic carpets lend an air of traditional elegance, as do the chandeliers that provide romantic lighting. This ballroom can host up to 200 guests. Couples can exchange vows on the patio under a floral arch, surrounded by serene parklands. Rust-red wooden beams frame the exterior space, affording guests the chance to absorb the natural light and scenic views. Couples can avail of the preparation suite for the duration of their event.

Services Offered

A member of the hospitality team assists couples in every stage of the planning process. This event coordinator collaborates with individuals and strives to realize their dream day. These experienced professionals will consult with you in advance, and endeavor to customize details of the occasion to suit your tastes and preferences. You can customize aspects of your day and add personal touches to the decor and layout of the Club. Couples can select from a range of wedding packages, each featuring an array of services designed to reflect your needs. In terms of cuisine, there is no shortage of options. Couples can choose a buffet service or a plated banquet dinner for their guests. Afterward, guests can peruse the dessert stations and enjoy a selection of teas, coffees, and sweet treats. Bar service is available, with a range of wines and champagne beverages on offer.

The Faculty Center was the perfect place for my son's wedding, at an excellent value. The staff could not have been more helpful, the food was absolutely delicious, and the venue provided tons of space and flexibility.

Wedding reception began in the Rose Garden with hors d'oeuvres (lamb chops, goat cheese pizza, eggplant tapenade, stuffed mushrooms) which I recommend highly. Dinner was served in the California room followed by dancing to a live band. The event was exceptional -- the Rose Garden setting was beautiful and admired by guests and the dinner of medallions of filet mignon and grilled salmon were beautifully presented and delicious. Guests were very impressed with the Faculty Center as a venue and with the wonderful service the staff provided throughout. My family could not have been more pleased

Everything about the experience was amazing. Ali was my handler/coordinator and he was so gracious and helpful and patient. We were on a budget so hotel wedding prices (in LA) were totally out. And I didn't want to worry about trying to do something outside with my own caterers etc. The Faculty Center was the best of all worlds. The ceremony was outside on a beautiful patio and the reception was inside in a room that no longer looked like a conference room! We used a different patio for passed hors deouvres and cocktail hour and it was just beautiful. And we had a separate room for the bridal party to get ready and relax etc. I seriously can't complain about any of it. People are still telling me how good the food was and how nice the staff were. And the dessert table was INCREDIBLE! Also, prices for everything were incredibly reasonable. Open bar for 100 was under $2000. Nuff said!!! Everyone who worked there was amazing: Ali, Wali, Ramon! Everyone throughout the entire process (not just that day). If you are looking for an alternative wedding location to the standard hotel ballroom, this is the place. It is just as beautiful and nowhere near the inflated prices! And the personalized service is so much more than you'd get from a ritzy hotel.

Ali Tabrizi was very accommodating as the director for our daughter's wedding reception at the U.C.L.A. Faculty Center. He was very helpful also with the vendors that we brought (the florist and the D.J.) We had so many comments from people on how delicious the food was and each plate was served hot even with 200 guests. The staff was professional, friendly, and efficient. They worked hard to make the big event very special. We would highly recommend the faculty center for any major event.

We had our reception at the Faculty Center, and everything was outstanding. Ali (the director) worked with me personally on every element of planning our menu, the timeline for the evening, linen choices, and coordinating with the other vendors. The packages UCLA provides are fantastic - a much easier and more cost-effective solution than any other venue we reviewed. We were taken care of from the moment we arrived from our ceremony until the end of the evening. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and most importantly, we had a wonderful night!

I highly recommend the UCLA faculty center for both your ceremony and reception. The food and service were amazing! We also held our rehearsal dinner there. All of our guest were especially impressed with the cocktail hour and the level of service. Ali helped to make my day better than I could have ever imagined.

I was the DJ at a wedding here and I was SO impressed by the helpfulness and accommodation of the staff. I needed to ask for several changes and additional equipment and they did it all without any objection and at no extra charge. At one point my wireless mic failed and they brought theirs in right away to replace it, no problem. Eileen and her staff were constantly checking in with me and other vendors to make sure we had what we needed. The catering staff also made suggestions for timing of various aspects of the reception, and were totally flexible and accommodating with everything we did.
The venue is lovely. Not spectacular, but elegant, clean and well-lit. The cocktail reception time after the ceremony on the patio was particularly nice. The food was tasty and ample. Not unbelievable, but very good.
My rating for the value should be ignored, since I don't know how much the bride paid. But if it was anything in the normal range for a venue like this, it was well worth it!

Great venue, highly recommend. Ali and his team are great to work with and very flexible. While the main room at the faculty center feels a little outdated once you add the dance floor, some lighting and flowers the room is transformed. You really have a blank canvas to do whatever you would like, including lots of candles! The faculty center is by far the most reasonably priced venue in west la. Our guests loved the food and open bar all night was also very budget friendly. The Patio at the faculty center is beautiful in the evening, all we did was add a few candles. If you are looking for a venue on the Westside this is a central location, great prices and you will walk away delighted.

The Faculty Center was the sight of our July wedding, with a ceremony in Dickson Plaza. The location of this venue cannot be beat-it is right in the middle of UCLA, with a beautiful patio for cocktail hour. Ali and his team provide exceptional service to guests of the event. Ali was very responsive to my requests throughout the planning process. The value is incredible, particularly when you consider the location and the quality of the food. Thank you, UCLA Faculty Center!

If recommending the venue to a friend, I would recommend considering what is most important to you. For me, it was an excellent location, excellent service, large space, indoors with windows, high quality food, and reasonable alcohol prices. The UCLA Faculty Center delivered on all of these areas. However, if your priority is a stunning reception venue-this venue needs some updating to meet those standards. The wood beams, windows, and patio are lovely. However, it needs updating. Simple upgrades to the lighting and floors would go a long way in making the place desirable to many more couples. The foundation is great, it just needs a bit of a face lift :)

One more thought-a wedding at UCLA is incredibly special. I'm very grateful we were able to get married on campus and have our reception at the Faculty Center. It was truly amazing. Should UCLA decide to do more weddings, I would recommend improved coordination among the different entities. The Guest House (hotel for guests), UCLA Parking (parking services), UCLA Events (ceremony sight) and UCLA Faculty Center (reception sight) are all separate, Thankfully, our incredible day-of coordinator managed everything seamlessly that day. However, coordinating the different entities can make planning a bit more stressful.

It was a very special day-hope these thoughts help in future planning and decisions!
