1. Quick and detailed responses: Mei and her husband, Robert run the company together, with Robert handling the business and scheduling side of things, resulting in email responses that took sometimes less than an hour to receive, while I had to wait a few days or weeks to hear from other companies. Given I am in another state and time zone, this helped me with my own scheduling and planning.

2. A personalized hair and makeup trial: I highly suggest opting for the hair and makeup trial in Mei’s studio beforehand. Her studio is located in Union Square, which was a 5 minute walk away from my hotel, making it super convenient. Her studio is small yet open, airy, and beautiful. She has music playing, making the mood light and comfortable. I showed her pictures of the hairstyle and makeup I wanted and she asked me a few follow-up questions to better understand the colors and setting of my wedding. She immediately understood my vision and quickly replicated and exceeded my expectations.

3. A prompt, speedy yet perfect wedding day: Mei and her additional team member, Anna, showed up early to our hotel on our wedding day to set up. And because I had a hair and makeup trial, my estimated 2-hour time slot only took 1.5 hours- but Mei’s work was flawless! Everyone in my wedding party absolutely loved their makeup and hairstyles. And Mei and Anna were so relaxed yet professional, and getting ready with them around was like having two additional friends to chat with.

4. A natural, enhanced look: Mei specializes and emphasizes that her makeup style is natural, which is exactly what I wanted. Her philosophy is to enhance the natural beauty of all her brides, and as an artist, she really does achieve that. I’m usually apprehensive to get my makeup done because I sometimes don’t recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror. But Mei made me feel the most beautiful, inside and out. She was so lovely to chat with and get to know.

I do not regret hiring Triple Twist- they made my wedding experience stress free and joyful and I can’t thank them enough!

I tried makeup from 3 artists, and Mei at Triple Twist way my favorite by a wide margin. She really listened to my preferences (don't go bold on the eyebrow) and put a lot of effort into perfecting the look, including blending foundations to match my fair and hard to match complexion. She did the makeup for the bridal party and the moms and everyone looked stunning. I was particularly impressed with the work on both moms, it was so tasteful, elegant, stately...we told my mom she looked like Madame President. It also lasted super well, on both the wedding and photoshoot days. The setup she brings to the hotel room is nice and makes for great photos, and it's really easy to work with her and her husband (he runs the business side) by email and their contracts are well organized and straight forward. The SF location is easy to get to for your trial, or if you are a City Hall bride then she would be so convenient. Absolutely recommend!

I did a trial with Mei a few days before our destination wedding. We sat down and I showed her my accessories, told her that I don’t wear makeup so was looking for something that wouldn’t take me too far out of my comfort zone, and showed her some Updo ideas. She did an amazing job putting together a light makeup look and applying lashes to enhance my best features, and I felt absolutely stunning by the time she was done. Not something I even imagined. She did an amazing job with my fine, thin hair. I don’t even know how she made it look like I had so much hair, but my updo was just perfect, had a very clean non-products look, and no flyaways which is a miracle for my hair. She took photos and sent to me so I could review and think on things over the next few days. She did an even better job on my day of and she appreciated and did a great job incorporating my few minor requests for tweaks.

She also went way above and beyond and helped me get ready so I could keep my look a surprise to our guests and my husband.

Mei is the absolute nicest person I can imagine, and honestly that means a lot because feeling beautiful is not something I do regularly and her gentle sweetness helped me open up to feeling the beauty she created and enhanced. Love Mei!!! I am looking for the next excuse to use Mei’s services already.

I went to Triple Twist and scheduled a hair and make up trial after being disappointed with my first trial run with another hair and make up artist. Mei was wonderful to work with and knew exactly how to accentuate my features without making me look too different. I wanted to feel beautiful and still comfortable with the make up (I do not wear heavy make up on a regular basis) and she was able to achieve this flawlessly. On the day of the wedding, she was great to work with ! She was patient and provided ease and calm - when my contact fell out of my eye and my fake eyelashes (that she so carefully placed!) on that eye fell off - she immediately told me that it was no problem and she fixed it with no issue. She continuously took the extra step throughout the day. I absolutely loved every hairstyle and make up that she did that day. My bridal party and family were over the moon with what she was able to deliver. Mei is incredibly talented and I am lucky that I was able to book her for my big day!

We had Mei do hair and makeup for our wedding October 2014. Mei did hair and makeup for myself and two bridesmaids, while Marcela did hair and makeup for two bridesmaids and hair-only for two more, as we wanted an early start on pictures before the ceremony. Even though it was a tight schedule, they did a great job with everyone's hair and makeup and stayed on schedule. I was SO SO happy with my hair and makeup. I didn't want the makeup to look heavy, yet I wanted it to look good in the pictures. I also don't usually wear a lot of makeup so I didn't want to look too made up. Mei listened to what I wanted and she did it perfectly! I LOVED my hair and makeup and all of the bridesmaids looked amazing!!

Communication with Robert was easy and they were really flexible when it came to timing for my trial, as well of the wedding day schedule. I loved that after the trial they sent the pictures in both black and white and color from all different angles. It was definitely worth the extra cost to do the trial. Mei also understood what changes I wanted from the trial hair and executed them perfectly on the day of! Robert and Mei showed up promptly the morning of the wedding with their whole setup and once they were set up in our hotel suite, Mei and Marcela got to work. My hair and makeup lasted ALL day (basically from 10am till past midnight!) and didn't even have to be re-pinned/fixed up after taking some windy pictures at the Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach. Both my hair and makeup lasted through the hours of dancing later in the night! Mei, Robert and Marcela were nothing but professional, knowledgeable and amazing from start to finish! I would highly recommend Triple Twist!!!

Mei was incredible. She (and her husband/manager, Robert) showed up at 7:15 in our hotel room and promptly set up her portable makeup mirror and lights. Way before the day of our wedding, I had an itemized timetable of the day and knew what to expect because we completed a virtual hair/makeup trial. Mei and I worked together to choose a look that was perfect for my semi-vintage wedding, and she executed it perfectly. I looked like myself, but a natural, 1920's pin-up version of myself. She even stayed extra time so that our photographer could get some of those "getting ready" shots. Such a kind and talented woman! I would recommend Mei to any bride. Thank you so much! -Hannah

Mei and Robert are delightful ! The entire process was seamless and they were a great start to a wonderful day !!! My makeup and hair were amazing and more than I could have imagined.

My husband and I decided to elope at SF City Hall, and her husband, Robert, was very responsive and flexible with our last minute decision. Mei was awesome!!! I was aiming for natural and classic, and that's exactly what I got! My make up was flawless and my hair was perfect. She made me feel and my twin sister feel very comfortable throughout the process. Mei is very warm, funny and had great recommendations. I wish her and her family the best and I highly recommend her!!!!

After going through several makeup trials, I was finally lucky enough to find Triple Twist! From the makeup trials, finalization of the contract through the wedding, Robert and Mei set the standard for customer service. And for the makeup? The best makeup job I've ever had done - this is coming from someone who has been in 10+ weddings!
