Tonnie's Minis

My husband and I opted for a dessert bar for our guests and ordered a small cake just for us to cut into (and secretly devour later after the reception). We ordered a lemon cake with plain vanilla buttercream as we wanted something simple and clean. Tonnies offered to take some of our extra wedding flowers and incorporate them into the decoration of the cake, which came our beautifully. They also surprised us by adding just a hint of gold glitter to the rose petals. The cake looked beautiful. But even more important, it was the most delicious cake of all time. We gave a small slice to our officiant (a family friend) who then spent the rest of the reception begging us for more. We have a slice saved in our freezer and can't wait to eat it again on our one year anniversary!

This is the place to get delicious Red Velvet. My family is from the South. So the New York trendy tasteless version that the higher priced cake makers have tried to sell to unsuspecting New Yorkers would not do. The red velvet was made just like my relative's cakes. Now as long as the fondant design is simple you are alright. I was fortunate that my wedding planner was a cake maker and made sure the cake was done right. As a result, the cake was not only delicious but beautiful.

We cut a small cake and ordered cupcakes for all the guests. There were a lot of flavor/icing options. All were delectable and quite affordable. However, we asked for carrot cake to be prepared without nuts. Of course, we received carrot cake with nuts. The groom and many guests have nut allergies, so this was not good. However, because Tonnie's is flexible, we had ordered several flavors, so other options were available. Just take care in communicating with Tonnie's staff. There may be a few who work on the orders, and sometimes your information/notes may get lost.
