Paying tribute to a Kansas City legend

When creating this business, we wanted to come up with a name that meant something to us and the history of Kansas City. We kept coming back to the name Tom Pendergast. If you have never heard of this man, let us give you a quick rundown! Boss Tom Pendergast was an influential character surrounding the history of the prohibition in Missouri. Missouri essentially, never enforced any arrests for distributing, drinking, and possession of alcohol during the time it was outlawed (thanks to Tom!). With bars remaining open throughout the night, the Kansas city night-scene began to grow. It is thought because of this growth, jazz music in Kansas City was able to flourish. Tom also was a big supporter of charity and was always giving back to his Kansas City community. Although we won't be partying until daylight with you, we would love to jazz up your night with a big cheers to Tom Pendergast!
