Thornewood Castle is a historic mansion venue located in Lakewood, Washington. This century-old Gothic Tudor castle offers a one-of-a-kind setting for romantic weddings. Featuring sophisticated function rooms and neatly manicured gardens, the castle is sure to leave a lasting impression on all in attendance. Nestled on American Lake, this beautiful, secluded property is located just 20 minutes from Tacoma and 45 minutes from Seattle.
Facilities and Capacity
Thornewood Castle boasts a number of elegant indoor and outdoor event spaces where you can tie the knot. Hold your ceremony in the English gardens and celebrate with dining and dancing in the ballroom or avail of the indoor-outdoor loggia. The gardens feature stone sculptures surrounding a bubbling fountain and the castle as your backdrop. For a waterfront wedding, you can marry on the lawn which offers sweeping views of American Lake. This space can also be transformed to accommodate your outdoor reception. You and your guests can enjoy al fresco dining and a beautiful sunset over the lake. Alternatively, the interior of the castle features ballrooms and halls fit for royalty. The Great Hall is decorated in a Victorian style, with a sandstone hearth, hardwood flooring, and warm paneled walls. The Ballroom, which can accommodate weddings of up to 125 attendees, reflects classic European elegance and style. Also featuring hardwood flooring, this function room is adorned with a crystal chandelier and beautiful pieces of art. This venue is suitable for events of up to 200 guests.
