There are not enough superlatives to describe the beautiful wedding weekend the staff of The Thompson Inn hosted for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding celebration on 10/4/25. From start to finish, Erin, Lydia, and the entire staff ensured that every expectation we had for this event was exceeded. The venue is magical -- the ceremony under the gorgeous canopy of trees on the grounds felt sacred, and in the evening, the twinkling lights on the trees and buildings matched the stars to make the fairy-tale feeling complete. Erin and Lydia were amazing, attending to our every question and concern with patience, humor, and expertise. The culinary skills of James and Joe, from the breakfasts at the Inn to each course of the wedding dinner and dessert at the Cyderhouse, were absolute perfection. The guests raved about this venue -- its grounds, the incredibly kind, fun, helpful staff, the food, the feeling in the air. We are beyond grateful to The Thompson Inn for making our daughter and son-in-law's wedding so meaningful and memorable. Our hearts are full of gratitude for you!

I truly cannot recommend the Thompson Inn enough! I had the pleasure of having my wedding their last weekend and it was the most magical weekend of my life. The venue can accommodate so much and truly has the most delicious food. The team there is a well oiled machine and knows exactly what has to be done to execute the dreamiest of weddings. I will forever look back on my weekend at the Thompson Inn with the utmost joy and eternal gratitude.

The Thompson Inn & Cyderhouse is an incredibly special place. We are so grateful to have been married at the venue on January 4, 2025 supported by the fantastic team at the venue. The Cyderhouse is breathtaking and was the absolute perfect space for our ~110 person winter wedding. I could go on and on about the beauty of the place but this venue truly has the trifecta of perfection: the venue is gorgeous, the staff are some of the most kind and helpful people I've ever met, and the food is quite literally some of the best food I've ever had. I couldn't have planned this wedding without the amazing support of Lauren. Lauren always put our minds at ease and everything went seamlessly largely due to her. We cannot say enough wonderful things about The Thompson Inn and Cyderhouse! From the moment we toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The entire property is absolutely stunning, and we were really blown away by how tasteful and beautiful the Cyderhouse and Inn both were. This place has all the charm of a classic New England setting, with updated and thoughtful touches throughout. We couldn’t have imagined a more ideal place for our wedding. All of our guests were blown away by the venue as well, and kept telling us how beautiful it was and how much they loved it.

The staff at the Thompson Inn was incredibly professional, friendly, and beyond attentive to every detail. Lauren - our contact throughout the planning process and day-of coordinator - went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly on our big day. She was always available to answer questions, offer suggestions if we felt stuck, and make sure we were comfortable and confident throughout the planning process. She ensured everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding, and we felt totally at ease in her hands. She is excellent at her job and was such a joy to be around.

One of the highlights was how flexible and accommodating the venue was with what we imagined for our wedding weekend. The space was versatile enough to accommodate our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place without feeling cramped or disjointed. It was also so special to get to stay on the property at the Inn with our closest friends. The rooms at the Inn are gorgeous, and our friends kept commenting how much they loved staying there and how comfortable they felt.

The food is absolutely amazing. I still dream about the short rib, fish, and ravioli! Our guests are still talking about how incredible all of the food was - from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts. The bar staff was fantastic, and the drink selection had something for everyone (the cocktails were so tasty!). They are also extremely accommodating to allergies - as we had one significant one - and they handled that flawlessly.

Overall, our wedding at the Thompson Inn was everything we dreamed of and more. If you're looking for a beautiful, well-managed venue with a team that truly cares about making your day special, we cannot recommend the Thompson Inn enough. Our experience was flawless, and we are so grateful for the memories created here. It is almost difficult to put into words how special they made our entire wedding weekend - it was just perfection.

Lauren and the Thompson Inn completely exceeded all of our expectations! Everything was above and beyond from start to finish. From the ambience, to the food, to the grounds; us, and our guests cannot decide what aspect we loved most! If you’re looking for an all inclusive wedding venue, look no further. From rehearsal dinner, to wedding day, to next day breakfast, everything was perfect. And let’s be honest, catering hall food does not hold a candle to farm a table. This is THE place you want!

What a venue! We discovered the Thompson Inn canoeing the Lamprey River and instantly fell in love with its charms and beauty. It was our obvious first choice when we got engaged. We looked at other venues in the area, but the Thompson Inn won us over with their professionalism and flexibility. We were able to work with the planners to create our perfect timeline which included a short ceremony, a two hour cocktail hour, and extended reception. The planners were very easy to talk to and brainstorm with, any ideas we brought up or unconventional requests we asked for were accommodated with ease. They made the entire process enjoyable and stress-free! The venue, from the Inn, to the grounds, to the Cyderhouse are just stunning and the food was to die for! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the inn with our wedding party and being able to remain on-site for the ceremony and reception made everything comfortable and convenient.

This was the only venue we even considered looking at and it was absolutely perfect. I first drove by the Thompson Inn ~5 years ago and saw a beautiful wedding happening and I immediately knew that I wanted to get married there someday too.

In the fall of 2021, we booked the Thompson Inn without touring any other venue. Lori and Stephen were so welcoming and kind on our initial tour of the inn & cyderhouse. After we booked, Lauren, our coordinator, was so communicative and responsive to all our questions throughout the 2 year planning process (we got married in September 2023). She always got back to us so quickly with an answer and was so helpful at every step of the way!

At our final venue walkthrough, we met with Lauren and Arielle to go over our options in case of rain. I really wanted to hold the ceremony outside and we determined that with our guest count, we’d be able to hold our ceremony under the back patio awning if it rained and wasn’t too windy. This was the perfect solution and I felt much more at ease with our backup plan!

We held our rehearsal dinner at the Inn too! We were able to pick and choose dishes we wanted from our tasting and from the menus provided to create a truly customized experience. The Inn & Chef Alex were so flexible and accommodating to our vision.

The morning of our wedding, we had a delicious breakfast at the inn of fruits, pastries, coffee, eggs, etc. all prepared by the inn staff. The breakfast was a delicious and perfect way to start the day. The bridal party opted to get ready in the cyderhouse and the groomsmen got ready in the main suite of the inn. The bridal party had plenty of room to spread out while getting ready at the cyderhouse & we opted for the mimosa bar to kick off the morning which was an excellent choice. Throughout the day, Arielle was so helpful with everything! From helping me with my veil, to making sure my bustle was in place, she helped with it all!

We were lucky enough that the rain held off and we were able to have the ceremony outside under the oak trees. Everything was absolutely perfect. Our vendors kept commenting about how smoothly everything went throughout the entire day!

For our reception, we created a custom floor plan because we really wanted to have a large dance floor. The setup of the reception was just what we’d envisioned too! The DJ even commented on how packed the dance floor had been at the end of the night. The food was amazing and we had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they’d ever eaten (two relatives even told me it was better than the meal they’d had at the Black Trumpet the night before)!

Overall, the day was an absolute dream and was so stress free! The inn staff did an amazing job coordinating with all our vendors and making sure everything ran on time and without any hiccups. I’d highly recommend this venue in a heartbeat!

My husband and I got married at the Thompson Inn in October 2023 and cannot say enough about the venue. From the wedding planning to the chef to all the staff, everything was perfect!! We stayed at the Inn with our family during the wedding weekend and it was clean and felt like we were at home. It was the perfect space to host our welcome drinks and gather with all our family and friends before the wedding day. The breakfast they served in the morning was our favorite part! They provided so many options and the food was just delicious. The wedding planner Lauren was amazing to work with. Leading up to the wedding she answered every single question we had and was very quick with responses. Lauren made our weekend and wedding day go so smoothly, we were so grateful to have her there. Every single staff member at the Thompson Inn truly made you feel a part of their family and were right there when you needed them. The other best part of this venue is the food. The food was truly the best food we have ever had at any wedding we have been too. They are also AMAZING with food allergies. We had guests who had pretty severe allergies (one being gluten soy and dairy) and they were able to eat so much, some of which they haven’t been able to eat in a while (get the chicken tender bar!!!) Chef Alex you are such an incredible chef! Our family and friends won’t stop gushing over how delicious the food was and how amazing the venue was! We are so glad we picked Thompson Inn to have our wedding! We cannot wait to go visit the venue for any events they host!

Booking the Thompson Inn was hands-down the best decision we could have made for our wedding weekend. From the minute we stepped on the property to tour The Thompson Inn and Cyderhouse, we knew this was the perfect fit. The grounds, cyderhouse, and inn are each as stunning as the next. We wanted a “destination” wedding feel, having all of our family and friends in one place for the whole weekend, without having to travel far. The Thompson Inn let us do just that. It wasn’t just a venue, it truly felt like our home for the weekend. Every single member of the team was an absolute pleasure to encounter at every point in our planning process and throughout our weekend. Lori and Steve welcomed us with pure kindness and open arms from Day 1 of our planning. Lauren, the day of coordinator, made sure the entire weekend went off without a hitch. From the start she made us feel so at ease, being our go-to for any and everything, and was such an incredible person to have by our side every step of the way. The kindness exhibited by ALL of the Cyderhouse and Inn staff, was such a blessing. Haley (the front of house manager), Stephanie (the innkeeper), and Kyle (the groundskeeper) were all ready to jump in and lend a hand with anything at a moment’s notice. The chef was over the top accommodating to my food sensitivity, and just did an INCREDIBLE job on every meal (our guests have still not stopped raving about the food and the portions)! And the waitstaff even joined us for a song on the dancefloor…it was THE BEST. The whole weekend the Thompson Inn team was all hands on deck, and everyone was always willing to lend a hand wherever possible! I cannot emphasize enough the importance of this DREAM TEAM on our wedding weekend…because of them, our wedding vision was brought to life. As our weekend came to a close we realized how bittersweet it was…not only was our wedding weekend over, but we truly felt like we were leaving such wonderful friends we had made in such a short time here. So thank you, Lori, Steve, and all of the Thompson Inn staff, for truly making this wedding weekend better than we could have ever imagined.
