DJ Jodi went above and beyond to make our entire wedding day smooth and fun. We met with her several times before the wedding on zoom, and she was exceptionally organized. She helped us with mics and music for an off-grid ceremony, flawlessly did music for cocktail hour & dinner, and keep the dance floor going all night long. She was incredible!

DJ Jodi is an absolute pleasure to work with and such a big part of what made our wedding so special. She had the dance floor packed all night and not only kept the vibes going strong but was amazing to work with leading up to the wedding too. After every call we had with her we were talking about how detail-oriented, accommodating, and incredible she was to work with. No matter how out there our requests were (from bands on our must-plays that she had never heard of to using a score from The Parent Trap for the bride's processional) she was 100% on board with every idea and made sure to give us her recommendations and work with us to make our dream day come true. We also had a saxophonist and cellist for the reception and ceremony and DJ Jodi worked with them to ensure that everything went smoothly. All of our guests had an incredible time and I can't stress enough how big of a part she played in making that happen. Not only was Jodi a calming and fun, understated presence on the mike during our wedding keeping things moving, but she was such a resource to us in the lead up to our big day. When you work with Jodi, you get a planner and DJ all wrapped into one package! The form she uses to keep organized about day of plans was a great resource to us in thinking through every last detail. We used the form to guide calls with Jodi in the lead up to our wedding, and they were some of our most fun vendor calls! She asks good questions (not only about music) that help her draw on her deep and varied musical knowledge to make recommendations that fit perfectly. And, when we said we wanted a cocktail hour with Bossa nova, smooth jazz, and a little Jawaiian reggae that feels like you're at an upscale restaurant, she took it in stride, shared in our vision and ran with it. And, when we were indecisive, Jodi knew just how to help us come to decisions and pick which ones were worth the extra attention. The results were perfect - all our guests and catering staff were dancing all night long, as Jodi took us from pre-ceremony, through cocktail to dinner, dancing and the party. My partner and I first met DJ Hennah aka DJ XO at our friends' wedding in 2023 and were immediately impressed by her song selection and mixing. We didn't know many people at that wedding (besides the bride and groom) and the two of us spent the entire night dancing to Hennah's amazing music - her preference for dance remixes of popular songs had us grooving the whole time.
When we decided to have a wedding ourselves the following year, and decided to celebrate at the same venue as that 2023 wedding, it was a no-brainer that we'd try to book Hennah as our DJ. Fortunately she was available, and even more fortunate for us, her boss DJ Jodi turned out to be an incredible help planning the wedding - and not just the music; Jodi's questions about the sequencing of the event forced us to get our plans in order down to specific details - because the musical cues depend on those details!
Jodi and Hennah's flexibility and communication during the planning phase was very appreciated as we took a pretty non-traditional approach to our wedding. They helped us hit those notes we were looking for outside the typical mold. We appreciated being able to dump a long list of our favorite artists and trusting Hennah to sculpt it into a reasonable playlist for the night. And as a bonus, Hennah loved a lot of the same music as us and said she had a blast playing some of her favorite songs! After the wedding, Hennah generously sent us the list of songs she played throughout the event, and we made it into a playlist that we treasure. Listening through the playlist brings us back to each of those moments.

Let me start by saying DJ Jodi is responsible for making our wedding the best I could have ever wished for. Music is all about taste, so I will try to focus on the facts:

I have been in contact with Jodi for almost a year as we were planning for the wedding. Our guests traveled from multiple countries and spoke different languages, which made us very nervous trying to attend to different tastes, etc. Jodi spent hours looking for songs that would fit, searching for ways to purchase songs I had thought about, listening to different artists and playlists I sent her trying to explain the vibe we were looking for... the amount of attention and time she spent before the event was just incredible. She assisted us in finding the right songs for the first dance, mother-son dances, etc., and even worked some editing magic to make changes to their length/style. She gave us ideas on how to create the flow of the event (timelines, etc.) as we were changing some of the traditional stuff and adding things.

She sent me playlists to listen to and created separate ones for different parts of the event, sharing them with me as she did.

The day of the event went better than we could ever hope for. She was always looking for us and making sure we were doing well. She even snuck out to get us drinks after the ceremony as we were being photographed and couldn't really leave to get to the bar, lol.

The playlist and mixing were so spot on with all we had wanted. People didn't stop dancing; every song was the perfect match to the energy on the dance floor!

Jodi understands people and understands music (rather than just playing it). A true professional of the highest levels!

Bottom line: Jodi will be part event coordinator, part producer, full-time dance floor magic maker, and will hold your hand throughout the process.
