Based in Fort Worth, Texas, The Worthy Co. is a home goods, candle, and jewelry-making business specializing in weddings. They exist by providing hands-on job training to survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation in Northern Texas. Women can earn a dignified wage and gain a work history by creating gorgeous candles and jewelry. As a non-profit social enterprise, 100% of wedding purchases go to the survivors as they attempt to rebuild their lives. The on-site retail store offers a wide selection of products such as clothes, home goods, jewelry, and more.

Service Offered

The Candle Studio is a part of The Worthy Co., and it is Fort Worth's first candle-pouring experience. Whether large or small, you and your wedding party can book a fun class and experience something different. The Candle Studio is a uniquely fun experience and a brilliant way to give back to the local community.

Melissa and Co-Founder Sarah launched a social enterprise called The Worthy Co where Melissa serves as Co-Founder and Chief Vision Officer. The Worthy Co employs survivors through job training and development and opened their headquarters and brick and mortar retail store in 2020. The Worthy Co was named Best Women’s Boutique by Fort Worth Magazine in 2021 and 2022. Melissa was named Fort Worth Inc's 400 Most Influential People in 2019, Fort Worth Magazine’s Best Philanthropist in 2018, and Fort Worth Business Press 40 Under 40.

Outside of The Worthy Co, Melisa loves traveling and speaking to inspire others and share about her passions: poverty, adoption, racial injustice and sex trafficking. She and her husband are very involved in their community with various other entrepreneurial ventures and small businesses they’ve started over the years.

Over the last 9 years, Sarah has worn many hats at The Worthy Co. Today she works alongside Melissa in strategic planning and growth of the organization, manages staff, finances, and systems. Sarah is passionate about creating opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized people to be empowered.

If not orchestrating all things Worthy Co., you’ll find Sarah and her husband Ty hosting friends at their house, on walks with their son Shepherd and rescue pup Bear, and eating chips & salsa.

Eva has a heart to see women discover their worth and value and now spends her days as the Communications Director for The Worthy Co.

When she isn’t running email campaigns or strategizing clear communications for The Worthy Co, you can find her reading a good book, enjoying a walk through her neighborhood with Thomas, Micah and their two pups Shiloh and Bella, or spending the night in cooking and watching Survivor.
