The Woodwinds is an award-winning wedding and events venue in Branford, Connecticut. With stunning gardens, landscaped patios, a grand staircase, and marble dance floors, the venue has the feel of an elegant European country manor. Offering intimate garden weddings, superior cuisine, and elegant ballrooms, The Woodwinds is the perfect setting for any dream wedding. Acquired in 2007 by Owner and Executive Chef, Antonio Suppa, the venue combines the highest level of family-style service, exquisite Italian cuisine, and amenities.
Facilities and Capacity
WoodWinds features two elegant ballrooms, which can also be combined into one flowing, spectacular room for the ultimate experience, can accommodate up to 600 guests. Each room features a marble dance floor perfect for dancing the night away, and elegant dining rentals create an atmosphere fit for royalty. A pair of luxurious suites offer comfort and privacy to get ready, and both allow food and beverage accommodations. In addition to these spaces, up to 200 guests can be hosted at the restaurant, Café Allegre. There is also a reception area named The Foyer that greets guests with well-appointed facilities and amenities. An alternative to indoor settings, a ceremony may be set up outside on the lawn for an open-air celebration.
Services Offered
The Woodwinds can be the perfect venue for all occasions. Bridal suite use is included in event rentals, and event planning is available through in-house services. Catering can be accommodated by The Woodwinds staff or by an outside vendor of the couple's preference. Event rentals are made available to bring a dream-come-true event to life, as is both lighting and a dance floor. Servers and bartenders complete a well-rounded event, ensuring that guests are both happy and satisfied.
Cuisine
The Woodwinds has various menus that couples can select from for their big day. This includes a range of premium, buffet, and sit-down meals. Also available are hors d'oeuvres, platter enhancements, and late-night snacks. Wedding cakes can be created on request and are sized per the number of guests attending the wedding. Cake tops and fresh flowers can be added on as extra embellishments, making for a stunning centerpiece for any wedding occasion.

The Woodwinds at Gastler Farm staff went above and beyond to make the day perfect. Our wedding attendants — lovingly dubbed “the fairies” — were everywhere we needed them to be, often before we even realized we needed help. From fixing my train to making sure we always had a drink in hand, they thought of everything.
We felt completely taken care of, and it let us relax and truly enjoy every moment. Woodwinds at Gastler Farm delivered a perfect mix of professionalism, warmth, and magic. We can’t recommend them enough!

Sergio is a master at presentation and was our tour guide throughout the day we got to enjoy our day and he handled every detail and kept watch on our timeline for us. That was such a gift to be able to be fully present on your wedding day and not have to think, “Oh the bouquet toss is coming up let me keep an eye on the clock”
The general manager during our rehearsal was so funny and had my entire wedding party laughing and at ease
If you are looking to be fully present on your wedding day and have your guests say, “You had a perfect wedding!” (Which I got multiple texts the next day saying so — the food, open bar, dj setup, everything was on point) then you want to go with The Woodwinds. I toured plenty of venues in Connecticut and it’s truly the best deal you’ll find in the entire state.

Wonderful setting for a beautiful wedding! Every details is handled with care and love. I often think the couple must be related to the WoodWinds team, Then I realize they, like us, put the couple first and will do anything within their power to insure the couple has an amazing wedding day!
