My wife and I live in Atlanta and had looked at several local venues before widening our search. When we walked into the Turnbull Building, we instantly knew it was the perfect fit! The natural lighting, wooden beams and overall aesthetic was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue! Several of our guests commented about how beautiful it was to watch the sunset over the mountains as they ate their dinner. The staff overall was incredibly helpful, insightful and responsive. With the Turnbull Building being a short drive from Atlanta, Chattanooga was a wonderful destination for a weekend getaway for our guests or just a day trip!

We could not be happier with our experience at the Turnbull Building! We traveled from Nashville to have our wedding in Chattanooga because we loved this venue so much. For the price, you won't find a better modern, industrial venue! The tables and chairs included in the rental price is enough to host a large wedding, and their recommended vendors are awesome! They also offer some in-house rentals that made decorating a breeze. Our guests raved about the stunning building and beautiful lighting, and you couldn't ask for a better downtown location walking distance from many hotels. On top of that, Elan and Ahni were amazing to work with - great with communicating and accommodating us from out of town. Ahni was a fun and lighthearted presence at the wedding and their bartending staff also did a fantastic job. Highly, highly recommend using the Turnbull Building for your wedding or event!

The Turnbull building is absolutely stunning! Was perfect for my wedding reception. The venue managers are professional and honest. I enjoyed working with them.

Long review head, but the short side of it is - I am so glad that we went with the Turnbull. The building and the staff were perfect. We actually came to The Turnbull after having originally booked a multi-award winning venue and Turnbull was hands down the better choice. I believe The Turnbull is at its root a family run business. We worked the most with Elan Webster, but everyone over the course of 2.5 years were fantastic. They worked with us during the postponement. They are very well connected with all of the Chattanooga vendors. Super accommodating and all around awesome.


The Nuts and Bolts:
The Turnbull was perfect. My husband even liked it more than the original venue! Neither of us are super into industrial décor, and yet this venue spoke to us. The high windows on the 4th floor, use of the 3rd floor, the incredibly kind team, an elevator, spiral staircase, just everything. It was incredible.

We used the 4th floor for both our ceremony and reception, so the 3rd floor acted as the perfect space for a cocktail hour while upstairs was flipped. The bridal suite is on the 3rd floor which ended up working out really well. If I needed to get away, it was easier to move down there and not be interrupted than if it were on the 4th floor. I will say - there is no official space for the guys to hang out. We had a relatively small bridal party so it wasn't a big deal, but if it is important to you to have a dedicated space for the guys then talk to the staff as I'm sure they'll have some awesome ideas for you.

From a decoration perspective, we opted to enhance the beauty of the building rather than cover it. Which worked really well for our budget. We did some warm amber up lighting on the brick walls, but no additional lighting was necessary because the venue itself is beautiful. Our florist utilized the beams, but in a way to enhance the space rather than cover it. So if you are a budget-conscious bride, then still consider The Turnbull because you might not have to do a lot of dressing it up which is money in your pocket.

The biggest "challenge" was parking. But remember, this is a downtown venue so no matter what, parking is going to be a challenge. Majority of the close parking is street, but there are ParkMobile sites everywhere. What I recommend is putting a screenshot of a map on your wedding website so that your guests can factor in parking when choosing their arrival time. And not everything is street, either, as Finley Stadium parking is about a block or so away. So if you communicate the parking to your guests early, then don't let that be what stops you from booking The Turnbull. Because they are fantastic.

(Also, in case you still have to deal with pandemic stuff for your big event - they test their staff before every event!)

There are not enough words to convey how thankful my family is for The Turnbull. My husband and I knew we wanted to get married downtown Chattanooga because that is where we met and developed our relationship and when we discovered The Turnbull, we were overwhelmed by the simplistic beauty. We began to plan our wedding for July 2020 after we were engaged in October 2019. We were planning for 300 people and knew this would be pushing the Turnbull's size limits but after many conversations, we all felt confident in making the event happened.

A tale as old as time, COVID happened. Our 300 person wedding turned to an immediate family and wedding party ceremony and dinner. We were a little nervous to have this large, gorgeous building with 2 floors to host a little under 50 people in but The Turnbull (along with some amazing vendors) made us feel so at peace!!! I cannot even tell you how many times I emailed them with random questions and they responded immediately, gave great advice in what works well in the space, and helped transform our massive party to the most intimate and memorable moment that my husband and I could have ever dreamt of. My whole family felt cared for by the staff of the Turnbull, they know what they are doing and I advise anyone to book this venue and listen to any direction or advice they have because they are truly the best in the business.

Our reception at the Turnbull was a dream! From start to finish everything was perfect and exactly as we planned. Elan was an amazing venue point of contact and she made sure any changes or requests were taken care of promptly. The venue is timeless and beautiful and whether you dress it way up or have simple decor the space is breathtaking. It made for beautiful pictures and a great time by all. We couldn’t have loved it more!

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding! The space is beautiful naturally and you can make it into anything you want depending on the decor and style you choose. I loved that it had that flexibility because we really needed a wedding on a tight budget and the Turnbull allowed us to achieve that because we weren't forced into certain vendors. Our communication was timely and thorough both during the planning and the day of!

The Turnbull Building was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue! The space is so flexible; you can add the desired extras to dress it up, but at it's bare-bones it is still beautiful! We loved the staff, the accommodations, and being able to utilize both floors for a laid back wedding day! It was perfect for our vision, budget, and needs. I would highly recommend this space for any event you have! The Turnbull will be a coveted wedding spot for years to come in the greater Chattanooga area!

The Turnbull venue was a DREAM. Their people were also incredible to work with and easy to get in contact with when necessary. A few of my engaged friends who came to the wedding are now having their receptions there as well. It's a naturally beautiful space with great lighting. Incredible for pictures, and minimal decoration goes a long way because of the beautiful interior! 10/10 recommend to future brides.
