Rafael of the Sweet Shop & event planning is the absolute best. I am from Minnesota and had a small destination wedding in Puerto Rico. He helped me pick out flowers and I went with tropical flowers, which I am so glad I did because they were beautiful. Rafael worked within my budget and did not skimp on anything. They were transparent about pricing for the beginning, which was helpful. They were punctual and professional throughout the entire process. They set everything up before the wedding and were there for any take downs and clean up that was needed after the wedding. They answered all my questions, and I even added a cake at the last minute that turned out to be so delicious and beautiful. My guests could not stop raving about how delicious the cake was and how beautiful the flowers were. It was exactly what I wanted. I am so glad we hired Rafael and would 110% recommend him.

Rafael and his team did an INCREDIBLE job with our flowers/decor and wedding cake. I told him I wanted colorful and tropical, and let him take it from there. They honestly were the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen and way exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. Other local vendors, quoted us thousands of dollars more. We are still getting compliments on how beautiful it was! Our cake was delicious and so cute. You will not regret hiring Rafael; it was one of the best decisions of my wedding!!

This review is unique - I am a wedding planner of 18 years - I specialize in high end weddings in Austin, TX and sold my previous high end company in Scottsdale, TX - I average planning weddings around $250k-up to a Million. I am preferred at all major resort properties like Four Seasons and have done several NFL players/coaches and even Rock Legend Alice Cooper's Son's wedding. I was planning my vow renewal, I needed a hand on the ground as I am not local... I came across Rafael by accident. And if I could bring him to Austin to help me on my team here I would. He went over and beyond what I would expect anyone to do. Here are just a couple things:

1. He was incredibly responsive during our communication. This is very important to me as wedding planner. There was NEVER a time I couldn't reach him for anything. He jumped on calls with me, responded by Whatsapp, and connected me to everyone I needed.

2. He was solutions minded to the Nth degree. We realized last minute (2 weeks before) that my venue was not going to work... he notified me before I was aware of this... BUT he had ALREADY went out to scout another venue, contacting also my photographer to meet him at the option, and one day I had a email in my inbox with the most perfect location - in the email were photos, video and the person to contact to book - she was waiting for my call. I was blown away.

3. I changed my design a couple of times - go figure :) I was trying to be mindful of cost - since my first wedding was not. We ended up bringing faux floral in in a separate suitcase - stay with me here... reason being I wanted those bright pink Bougainvillea and we couldn't get them locally - being in the industry - we both know that faux floral are actually used a lot - you would be surprised - it just needs to be for the right floral - bougainvillea are that floral. He told me he would assemble onsite for me. Not only did he assemble onsite - he actually brought some of his own filler to add a little texture at no additional cost. Normally I wouldn't be comfortable with filling out design without my knowledge - in this case - I fully trusted where we were going. He did a stunning job. It was everything I envisioned plus more.

4. He was readily available when I arrived to Puerto Rico. He came to my hotel and picked up all the things I purchased for my setup. We were doing a small cutting cake, champagne, charcuterie. He even filled my ice bucket the day-of.

5. He provided EVERYTHING I didn't have - I wanted a table that was wood and pretty - done, I wanted a chic cake and white cake stand - done, I wanted a guitarist for an hour - done, wood altar - done, referred me to hair and makeup for my daughter - which was phenomenal also.

6. His team was GOLD. They came as a trio - they brought everything for me, set everything up before we arrived, music was playing, champagne was on ice, 2 of my champagne glasses broke on travel - so he provided 2 additional. They took video for us, they serviced us with champagne, they cleaned it all up and packed it away beautifully. They laughed with us too - and we loved that.

I usually am not this generous how I speak of vendors bc it's not easy to find GREAT ones - but I can tell you in my entire career - this crew is in my top 5 - and that means a lot. I have worked all over the country with many different high end vendors - they are worth every penny... actually more than what they will charge you - their pricing is unbelievably low for what they do - that's my only rec for Rafael - you need to charge more, but knowing him, the heart he puts into what he does - I don't see that happening.

Last thing - I have to say - he also made the cake - we ate it for several days - it was incredibly delicious. He put a lot of effort into the vision of it.

I just couldn't be more grateful for this entire crew. Thank you again - HIRE THEM :) you too will give them 5 stars!

Rafael of the Sweet Shop & event planning was awesome. We had a destination wedding and I wanted to make sure the ceremony and venue decorated. He was available by phone, text & email. I was able to share with him my vision & he made sure it was implemented. From the ceremony decor (arch, fresh flowers, boutonnieres ) reception decor (sweetheart table, lights, cake table) to the desserts table (tres leches cake, arroz con coco, cheese de parcha and wedding cake). The desserts were fantastic. We received many compliments on how delicious they were. This vender was Caring & provided great costumer service! ¡Muchisimas Gracias!

Everything came out better than expected, flowers were gorgeous and exactly what i asked for!! Took time setting up to get things right, I was impressed and so happy with the service! This could be one vendor for all

Rafael and Joshua were simply incredible in every way possible. Their floral (centerpieces, boutonniere, and bouquet), decor (candles, chargers, runners), and cake baking/design were exceptional. They were quickly responsive and flexible up until the last minute - they were extremely organized, professional, and lovely. I am so grateful to have had them on this journey with me and I appreciate so much their support and open communication.
