Our daughter was married in September 2021 at The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge.
All activities were done at The Ridges, including the rehearsal dinner (in High Cove Ridge), ceremony (event pier) and reception (Red Banks Ridge room.)
From the beginning the staff at the Ridges was incredible to work with. They were always accessible if we had any questions and guided us through the whole process.
Andrea (Andy) Allen, senior sales manager, was incredible to work with. (We also hired her as day-of coordinator.) Steven Jarrard, banquet manager, was fabulous and his attitude infectious. We were very happy with the food for the reception. And breakfast in The Oaks onsite was fabulous daily!
The front desk staff was so cheerful and helpful, the wait staff and bartenders for events, etc. were all top notch. We’d be remiss if we did not mention Zachary Koss.
It seems Zachary was there the whole weekend; working breakfasts, the wedding reception, etc. Everyone was so impressed with his hustle, great attitude and friendliness. My 85-year-old Mother loved him!
This was the perfect wedding weekend and The Ridges is definitely a huge reason why. Heartily recommend The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge for your nuptials!

I had a small wedding but planned and executed it in 4 days! It wasn't a shotgun wedding! I loved my experience with The Ridges Resort and everything came together perfectly! My ceremony was on the pier and made for the best wedding pictures! Christa Subia who works on property officiated and did a wonderful job! Everyone was amazing! The front desk agent even helped me surprise my now husband. My husband did not know his Dad was going to be able to make it. She sent him in the right direction without giving it away. Resulting in such a meaningful moment between father and son. They will absolutely go above and beyond for their clients and guests.

We had our wedding nearby and wanted for our guests to have multiple lodging options. We had a supplemental room block at The Ridges Resort and were so pleased with the service and flexibility. The location and views are fantastic and really gave our guests a sense of being away and on vacation, which is just what we were going for. There are firepits along the lake and the lobby has strong mountain lodge-vibes, which is just what we were hoping for. Thanks again!!

The venue was beautiful and the staff were exceptional! We are so glad we booked with the Ridges. Our guests travelled from all over to come and loved the experience. Highly recommend making a long weekend of your wedding if you book this venue.

A 2020 engagement was the best part of a hard year. Planning for a 2021 wedding felt a bit intimidating based on the uncertainty of our times. Thus, Andrea and Steven and their fabulous hospitality team were a much needed boost of reassurance as we planned the May rehearsal dinner. They all far exceeded our expectations for quality, design and service. We highly recommend The Ridges Resort at Lake Chatuge.

We looked around extensively for a wedding venue that fit our needs. The Ridges Resort is absolutely breathtaking! Our coordinator Andy, was very friendly and easy to work with. She (along with the entire Ridges Staff) was professional, responsive, organized, detailed and worked with us to make our day absolutely perfect. We can't wait to visit the resort again!

Selecting The Ridges was a last minute option for us. We had a destination wedding planned in the Caribbean but due to COVID it was changed 2 different times then eventually cancelled so with only just over two months before our date we found The Ridges online during a search of areas we loved. We knew moving it to the mountains was the best idea during the pandemic to avoid a possible third time changing our wedding. Andy was our first contact with The Ridges, she provided us with the details needed to make the decision to secure the location and start planning. We opted for an inclusive package they offered which made things really easy. Because we originally were doing a destination wedding though none of the additional "traditional" things you think about were needed until now such as flowers, dj, cake, etc. so we started to panic once we realized we were going to have to essentially plan a full out wedding in such a short time... Oh and by the way this was all done remotely and without seeing the venue at all so we had to place all of our trust in Andy to lead us through this process. She made herself available during all hours of the day on the phone or through facetime she walked us through various venues on location. We immediately felt a comfort level with Andy, she gave us her opinions, honest feedback, and told us what we needed to focus on to pull off this wedding for us and 50 guests, taking the burden of the planning from us. Fast forward to when we arrived the week of our wedding, by then we had already felt like Andy was family. She greeted us with a giant hug and we started to walk the facilities. Up until the last minute possible she allowed us to make final decisions and changes without question. Immediately we felt at ease that everything was together exactly as she had stated and how we wanted it, I cant tell you how stressed we were until that moment. We finally were able to start enjoying the week and knowing that Andy had everything under control. We also hired Andy as our Day Of coordinator, which was worth 100x the value. She handled every little detail with the vendors, the venue, our family, and anything else thrown at us which there was. A hurricane decided to form and find its way through the mountains the day of our wedding, in late October in the mountains, of course it was 2020 why not?! Andy had already been monitoring and anticipated secondary locations and fully set them up in preparation our beautiful lakeside ceremony would have to be moved indoors. Instead of calling it and moving on which would have been easy for them to do, she allowed for us to wait up until the very last minute possible to try and keep our wedding outdoors. We had to monitor the grass and rain but luckily it all subsided 1 hour before the ceremony began and the staff started setting everything up. Andy saw us through the ceremony, reception, and even stayed for a while ensuring everything went out without us having to worry about a thing. After all we went through to get to that day it was better than we ever could have imagined.
Now here is the down and dirty:
The Ridges located directly on Lake Chatuge with a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains. The resort is older but recently renovated. The rooms were spacious and nice. The grounds were well kept and we were able to enjoy the amenities and outdoor spaces throughout the week. They have their own restaurant which is the ONLY restaurant on the lake with the most amazing views. They were going through management changes of the restaurant so there were some closures throughout the week which is a bummer, they lost a lot of money with it not open during this time and we had to eat at alternative places throughout the week. Staff - This is a small mountain town so we didn't expect the Ritz but everyone was super friendly. Some of the front desk associates could use some additional training but again nothing that was of issue. They do promote nightly fires but each night we went outside there was no firewood to be found. Megan, the new GM at the restaurant was also serving for us at the wedding. She is another GEM and so grateful they gave her the role to help get the restaurant back on track. Andy as we stated before was beyond anything we could have imagined and I can tell we will be in touch through the years.. Location - convenient to many trails and waterfalls, and Helen this was the perfect location for us. All 50 of us took over many restaurants and venues throughout the week and everyone was outgoing and friendly to us.
All said I would highly recommend this venue and specifically ANDY if you have any desire for a beautiful mountain wedding.

The Ridges was the absolute perfect place to have my fairy tail wedding! The staff was wonderful that helped everything flow. I want to really emphasize how AMAZING Andy was with the whole process of keeping us in the loop, making sure that everything is going to flow today, and an unbelievable day of coordinator. Our wedding wouldn’t of been the perfect day it was without the Ridges, but most importantly, Andy! Thank you guys so much for our fairy tail wedding.

Getting engaged right before COVID-19, we were excited to have our wedding at the Ridges. When we saw venue nightmare stories, weddings cancelled, we started to panic. Andy from The Ridges put all our minds and hearts at ease with making our big day a realty.
This is the perfect venue if you want a more intimate weekend with friends and family while being in a beautiful place, with incredible food and activities.
Wedding day was a BREEZE, we got a ton of compliments on the food, and walking into our reception and seeing the magic the Ridges created brought me to tears.
I'm so glad we have a place we can go back and relive the best day of our life. Our memories at The Ridges are just starting thanks to wonderful and outstanding hospitality!!
