Fun and Unique

This was such a unique venue! You have a lot of freedom in terms of decoration, especially for reception area. The museum is highly ornate, so not a ton of extra decor needed, which was one of the things we enjoyed most about it. Who cares about charger plates when there are gorgeous chandeliers and vintage carousel animals everywhere? Overall, very fun! Staff (including Morgan, the event coordinator) were lovely, we would definitely work with them again. They even gave us a file for the scavenger hunt they use during parties, so we could update it to include a few of the animals that had personal significance to us.

One of the benefits of this venue is that you get a lot of time to set up the day before– this in addition to the relatively low rental price made the venue very affordable. My partner, our families, and I were able to take our time the day before to get the reception space ready, and that made it less stressful than if we'd had only the day of.

Thank you so much to everyone at the Carousel Museum for making our wedding such a memorable day! We and our guests enjoyed every moment.

Amazing Wedding Location

Highly recommend The Carousel Museum as a wedding venue. They were great with communication, the venue has so much character, and I like that it is a non-profit. Didn't even have to do much decorating because the venue is already amazing to look at. We had just under 100 people attend and there was so much room for everyone including the huge dance floor in the middle of the room which we definitely utilized. They made the whole process easy.

The most stunning place

From beginning to end, I could not have asked for a better venue. Not only was it unique with the carousel pieces lining the aisle, the two hour carousel rides for my guest, but the most rustic feel upstairs when dancing under the lights. The team was amazing, the price was amazing, and the upstairs was beautiful.

Great Tour for Bride to Be at the The New England Carousel Museum

I was so impressed with the Reservation Coordinator
Hannah Einsiedel. Before viewing this place I came prepared with A LOT questions! She answered all of my questions throughly and honestly! This place is very gorgeous and reasonably priced. It's high on my list of potential options! Thanks Hannah!

Everyone including our guests loved this venue and still are talking about it. The staff Ms. Elaine and Tom were awesome all of the little things we wanted were addressed. Very comfortably priced for the completely amazing venue. Know that you can have an intimate wedding of 40 like we did downstairs or 200 upstairs more formal and being able to access the downstairs and to be able to ride a carousel with beautiful pictures.

Fun and unique wedding venue!

We came in from out of town to tour five CT wedding venues in one weekend, and once we walked into the ballroom at Carousel, we knew we had found our place. The fun, relaxed, and beautiful atmosphere of the décor throughout the museum plus how kind and helpful the staff are made the decision to book the Brass Ring Event Package easy. Throughout the planning process the staff were responsive to emails/calls, and were accommodating when we rescheduled twice due to COVID. The month leading up to our wedding, Sam, the event coordinator, helped us plan out last details to make things fall into place ranging from the setup of cocktail hour on the first floor, when to have the hour of Carousel rides the event package gets you, and more. We were able to set up the day before our event, which made pulling everything off much easier. Everyone attending our wedding had a blast riding the Carousel, exploring exhibits, and partying in the ballroom. If you're looking for a space that's easy to personalize and allows you to bring in your own vendors, the Carousel Museum could be great for your event!

Gorgeous and fun venue

The Carousel Museum is a beautiful, special, and FUN venue! If you are looking for something with character and memorable for your guests, this is a beautiful place. The price is very reasonable, and you have enormous flexibility to decorate and make the event your own -- but the venue is also special enough already that you don't need to go overboard with decor. We loved watching all our guests reactions to getting to ride a carousel, marvel at the exhibits...and still have a full ballroom to dance and dine in! Our coordinator was so responsible and helpful throughout the process, and went above and beyond the day of in making sure all details fell into placce.

We found the site by accident, but the atmosphere and price were perfect for our ceremony. Our friends checked out the site for us, and Elaine was completely great with them, and when we could make it into town we were also very happy with her.
She was a little slow getting back to us, and their contracts are written a little confusing, however luckily the contract included all information regarding both the ceremony and rehearsal times, because there were a few scheduling conflicts that came up that weekend, and because our contract covered so much, we didn't end up with any major issues.
Our guests loved the site, and were very happy to have something to do before and after the ceremony (prior to the start of the reception). All in all, we would definitely use the Museum again for another event.
Should you choose this location, be very specific about your wants and expectations, and ask them to confirm everything with you a month before so you know about any other events surrounding your own.

My husband and I were planning our wedding on a very tight budget, and with a HUGE family that can be very hard to do. We knew that we would have to find a venue to rent hourly but did not want to use a local hall. We wanted something more special. I accidentally found the New England Carousel Museum and knew it was the place for us. The downstairs is old and has an antique feel but the upstairs is a beautiful rustic room with wooden pillars and lovely chandeliers. On the day of our wedding our guests were floored with the venue and kept saying it was so much more beautiful than they had expected. Their contracts are a little weird and the guidelines can be a little stiff o make sure everything you want is clearly laid out in the contract when you sign. overall it was a wonderful day and I am beyond happy with the space!
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
