About The Maxwell House
A grand mansion built in the 1920s as a private summer residence to the Maxwell family, the Maxwell House serves as a historic site to the area!
The Maxwell family chose noted architects Marston and Maybury to design their home in the elegant Mediterranean Italianate style, with tile roofing, stucco walls, a strong Palladian entrance and elaborate detailing. The soaring entry hall and decoratively painted ceiling panels suggest immediately that other grand spaces will open to you. Event rentals include access to a library meeting room, complete with a dark wood table and fireplace, main ballroom with windows facing a rose garden, a grand staircase and entryway, bold dining room fit for the era and perfect for meetings, and the open-air back patio! Weddings also include dressing suites!
