About this vendor

I've been away from Wedding Wire for a while, but now I'm back.

I shall be gathering some additional reviews from couples I've married in the recent past. Stay tuned!

* I am a regularly ordained rabbi (five years in seminary) and also an Irish citizen.

* I work with Jewish, interfaith, no-faith, and LGBT+ couples.

* I co-officiate with other members of the clergy.

* I encourage flavoring your ceremony not only with spiritual reflections of yourself, but cultural ones as well. I regularly infuse the service with Irish, French-Canadian, Greek, Romanian, Swedish, Bulgarian, and Persian customs and traditions.

* I often add portions of the ceremony in other languages, such as German, Hebrew, Yiddish, French, Swedish, Irish Gaelic, Romanian, Greek, and other languages. No, I don't speak all of them fluently, but I can "fake" (Read: Pronounce smoothly) blessings, biblical excerpts, poetry, and such quite well!

* I have extensive experience officiating at destination weddings, including Canada, Ireland, the Dominican Republic, and Portugal.

* My "counseling" services refer to the ongoing spiritual guidance I provide. I am not a licensed couples counselor, which is something else entirely. Unless proven otherwise, I assume you are made for one another!

* Once a couple invites me to officiate at their wedding, they have a lifelong welcome to stay in touch with me over the years.

* My website will be up and running in a few weeks - I had to change my URL name and webhost.

* References are always available from couples I've married in the past.

* By the way, I very rarely personally take part in rehearsals. You don't need me for this. Your wedding planner or site manager will know the space better than I. And as a rabbi, I NEVER "rehearse" the actual ceremony! (A discussion for later...)

We could not have asked for a better officiant for our wedding this past November! My husband is Jewish and I was raised Catholic. It was very important to us to incorporate both of our religious upbringings into our ceremony and Rabbi Mark was the answer to our wedding needs! He was so knowledgeable about both religions and traditions stemming from both of our backgrounds. We received multiple compliments on the beautiful and touching ceremony that he officiated. He was able to make a ceremony that reflected both of us perfectly. We cannot recommend him highly enough,

The ideal match

We are so lucky that we were able and to find such an amazing Rabbi in Mark to bless us with his Jewish wedding ceremony. He is extremely personable and went above and beyond to learn our stories and make our wedding day truly special. It was very fitting that, since we got married in Newton, Rabbi Newton would be the one to do so. I couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone considering an interfaith marriage!

Rabbi Newton delivered a beautiful interfaith ceremony and was a pleasure to work with leading up to our wedding. Both my parents, in-laws, and wedding guests raved about his services afterwards and our wedding venue has now added him to their recommended vendor list. We enthusiastically recommend Rabbit Newton to anyone looking for a flexible interfaith officiant.

I am Jewish and my husband is catholic and Rabbi Mark Newton was incredibly easy to work with and helped us put together a ceremony that incorporated traditions from both religions. Rabbi Mark Newton knows an incredible amount about all different religions and helped to create a personal, warm, and unique ceremony that was perfect for us. I had many guests come up and comment to me after my wedding, how wonderful our ceremony was.

We love Rabbi Mark Newton! From the initial meetings to writing the ceremony to the ceremony itself, Rabbi Mark made the process easy and very enjoyable. Even more so, he really took the extra time to make our marriage special and unique to us. He went above and beyond our expectations. Rabbi Mark Newton was really such a pleasure to work with. From our first meeting with him we knew we wanted him to officiate our Jewish wedding. He was open to making the ceremony as religious or secular as we wanted. He is very personable, and always willing to meet up to go over anything. He was really organized throughout the whole process, and made it easy. He really made an effort to personalize our day and was open to making the ceremony truly ours. We highly recommend Mark Newton as an officiate.

Rabbi Newton was fantastic to work with for our recent wedding. He is incredibly thoughtful and inclusive, and was willing (and even excited) to meet with us several times before the wedding to talk with us about options for our ceremony. He was eager to allow us to combine elements from different cultures that were important to us - and even did extra research on best ways to include things we were interested in. He is an engaging speaker, and we received so many compliments on how wonderful our ceremony was or from friends and family who spoke with Rabbi Newton after the ceremony as well! Definitely made our ceremony extra special, and made sure that both Jewish and non-Jewish attendants felt very welcome and included in our day.

Working with Rabbi Mark was an absolute pleasure! He was extremely helpful and kind through the entire process and did a great job at our ceremony. Many people told me later that they thought he was wonderful and I did too.

Rabbi Newton officiated our ceremony in Killington Vermont. He was incredibly easy to work with and great with correspondence. We had an interfaith ceremony and Rabbi Newton presented a number of options that allowed for respect for both sides. When performing the ceremony he speaks clearly, loudly, engaging the audience into the event. Rabbi Newton made sure that we both understood all aspects of the ceremony. Highly recommend!

Rabbi Mark Newton went above and beyond in his service for our wedding. He was responsive, helpful, and available. Rabbi Newton performed beautifully and was very thoughtful and receptive to our requests and suggestions throughout the process. His beautiful singing voice exceeded our expectations and all our guests were highly complimentary after the service. We would highly recommend Rabbi Mark Newton, he was a wonderful addition to our wedding.
