The Greenhouse at Highland Farm is a wedding event venue in Scarborough, Maine. This family-owned farm is adorned with landscaped gardens and flower beds and acres of wild flower fields as a backdrop.
The Greenhouse has nearly 2,200 square feet under a clear-top roof, and features sprawling covered pergolas and 18-foot-high ceilings. It has a capacity of up to 150 people and has retractable walls to accommodate unexpected weather conditions. An exterior area is also available for your caterers or other vendors to prepare for your big day. Couples can say ‘I do’ in the ceremony space, which surrounds you and your guests with colorful, flourishing wildflowers. Hundreds of flower varieties will be an unforgettable backdrop option for your romantic photos. The estate has ample parking for you and your guests, with wheelchair accessibility to ensure all your guests enjoy the fun.
Services Offered
You will have full access to the farm during your wedding weekend for your celebration and photography sessions. The Greenhouse at Highland Farm provides a customizable wedding arbor, which your florists and designers can decorate to match your theme. The team welcomes pets, and your furry companion can play a role during your ceremony if you wish. Outside of the main event, the venue can also host wedding showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and elopements.

My husband and I had our wedding here is September 2024. We truly cannot recommend The Greenhouse and Jessica enough. The space and flowers were stunning in September and we received so many compliments from guests. Jessica was extremely responsive and helpful. This was the first wedding venue we looked at in person and knew it was perfect for our day before we even made it back to our car. We booked that night! The Greenhouse was the perfect space for our dream wedding. Thank you so much!

Rain on My Wedding Day
Such a beautiful location. You'd think renting an outdoor venue like this would be risky due to unpredictable weather, but the Greenhouse gives you the best of both worlds. We felt nice and cozy inside the Greenhouse while listening to the pitter patter of rain outside. They we even able to accomodate our request to set up a complex electronics system and lit tent in the ceremony area. What's more, shopping around with our $500 rental credit the day before the wedding was a highlight of my bridesmaid's and my experience. We had so much fun picking out pumpkins, gourds and flowers to spruce up our homemade decorations. The staff were all so helpful and friendly too. The weekend long rental is also very much worth it. It substantially reduces the day of stress.

A beautiful place to get married!
Both Christine and Jessica made the days leading up to my big day seamless. They were extremely responsive to my many questions, and couldn’t have been more kind. The value of this venue is incredible, from the beautiful setting and the grounds of the property, to the bridal suite and the florals available for use. I could not recommend The Greenhouse more highly! We had the absolute perfect day there.

Dream venue!
The Greenhouse at Highland Farm is such a special venue! My husband and I still can’t believe we were lucky enough to get married there. As soon as we saw the venue and met Christine (the amazing owner), we knew it was the one. In the months leading up to our wedding, Christine and Jessica were extremely responsive over email to answer our endless questions. They also let us visit the venue ahead of time to make decor decisions, and gave us their insight into what would work in the space! They always made us feel like a priority and like no question or concern was too small. We especially appreciated having access to the Greenhouse starting the Friday morning before our wedding to set up, and being able to leave things there the night of the wedding to deal with on Sunday. On our wedding day, Christine and Jessica were there to help and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. And we haven’t even mentioned how beautiful the greenhouse and grounds are! Like insanely pretty, our guests couldn’t stop commenting on it! From the lights in the greenhouse and adjacent lawn, to the fairytale wildflower field, and lush ceremony space, it’s everything I wanted and more. It was an absolute dream to get married at The Greenhouse and we can’t recommend it enough!!

Absolutely Incredible
Upon stepping into the Greenhouse, we knew that this was where we would be married. It is simply magical and so unique. Christine and Jess have taken so many steps to ensure that all of their couples have a wonderful experience and their passion for this really shows. We had full and exclusive access to the greenhouse starting Friday morning, which was helpful in an entirely DIY wedding.
The greenhouse is also very weather-adaptable. We hosted our rehearsal dinner there in the middle of a hurricane and with the retractable windows down, you'd never know (aside from the beautiful sound of rain on the roof). We also rented all of our decorative flowers from the farm at a discount and were so happy to buy the cut flowers for all of our bud vase centerpieces on site!
We are so appreciative to Jess and Christine for taking every possible step to make our wedding weekend perfect. Through the whole planning process they were always just a call/text/email away to answer any question big or small. Everything from the bridal suite in the farmhouse, to walking down the aisle in a field of wildflowers, to the ideal wedding reception location made this the perfect day.

Greenhouse of our dreams
When looking for a wedding venue we knew we loved the idea of a greenhouse, but there were none in our area. On a whim, I came across The Greenhouse at Highland Farm and we are so pleased with our decision. Not only were the owners wonderful to work with, but they made sure we had everything we needed. They contacted vendors directly once we had established them all which was a huge help and gave us one less thing to worry about.
We expected to have to have an indoor ceremony due to rain. We also had an exceptionally rainy morning at the venue, but it cleared up in the knick of time. Last minute, the venue owners moved the arbor, chairs, and florals to the wildflower space so we could have our ceremony outside which is what we had really wanted but didn’t think was possible due to weather.
The little touches were also appreciated. The farmhouse had sweet signs and a basket of goodies for us. Christine knew I was overwhelmed and offered to plant and place beautiful floral rentals around the venue which came out beautifully. They also took care of all Covid specific things/forms/etc that were needed.
We would chose to have our wedding at the greenhouse in a heartbeat. They helped make our wedding vision come to life.
