The Greatful Dane Lodge is a NEW venue located in the heart of the Sunapee Region in Newport, NH. The beautiful 1863 Post & Beam Barn sits proudly atop the hill, overlooking the welcoming landscaped grounds, the wildflower pastures, and the abundant wildlife. And while the breath taking views of Mt. Sunapee will amaze, the peaceful sounds of nature will soothe your soul. The Greatful Dane Lodge offers the perfect blend of elegance and nature.
Our Property offers lodging accommodations for up to 18 guests, private use of the property and grounds for you and your guests, and use of all barn amenities, including the newly renovated, glass-enclosed "Blu Bar," which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. You will enjoy peace and seclusion during your stay while being less than 10 minutes to the Sunapee Recreation Area and an abundance of activities.
Additional Lodging is less than 7 minutes away from the property. Our preferred Vendor list will help with planning your destination wedding experience. Our flexibility and stress-free approach will ensure that your wedding is personalized to each couple, giving your guests a unique experience on your wedding day.

October 2025 wedding
They were great at communication, responding to all my texts and scheduling calls and in person meetings with me as needed from when we booked 9 months out.
They have the best local connections and recommendations providing us with great vendors that all fit within our budget.
They worked with us to thoroughly get every detail down, giving us so many great ideas, and implementing our vision so beautifully.
And one of the best parts, we were able to have our dogs with us, and if they could talk they would tell you they absolutely loved running around the property and being able to be part of our day.
We went with the weekend package and also booked the house which gave us plenty of time to set up and decorate as well as have close friends and family there with us. And it was completely worth it.
My husband and I cannot recommend the Greatful Dane enough. For the venue, value, and people… you won’t find better.
