Located in a historic former church in Marshall, Michigan, The Franke Center for the Arts is a unique venue for couples to hold their wedding celebrations. The property offers a timeless backdrop for ceremonies and receptions, boasting a classy atmosphere ideal for theatre enthusiasts. This classic location can be found in the inspiring downtown district of the city, in close proximity to museums, fine dining opportunities, and more.
Facilities and Capacity
This unique indoor setting allows soon-to-be-weds to plan their entire milestone event under one convenient roof. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by the mesmerizing exterior of the building, characterized by tall white columns, elegant brickwork, and ornate architectural sculptures. For the ceremony, the venue's main stage area sets a dramatic scene. The spacious stage is fitted with traditional curtains and modern lighting for an unforgettable exchange of vows. Afterwards, the newlyweds and their loved ones are welcome to continue the celebrations in the downstage lounge. The on-site bar brings old-world charm to the venue, featuring hanging lantern-style lights and dark wooden finishes. Events of up to 260 guests can be accommodated inside The Franke Center for the Arts, allowing soon-to-be-weds to hold elaborate soirees.
Services Offered
In addition to the ceremony and reception, a number of other wedding-related events may be held at this one-of-a-kind location. The venue's staff is more than happy to help organize engagement parties, showers, rehearsal dinners, and more. They provide numerous services to help make sure that events at the center run seamlessly, including setup and cleanup, sound and lighting, and rental supply. There are various event items available for the celebrations, such as banquet furniture, chair covers, and audio equipment. Outside vendors are permitted, allowing the happy couple to select the flowers, cake, cuisine, and entertainment that aligns best with their vision.
History
Originally constructed in the early 20th century as the Brooks Memorial Methodist Church, this elegant venue was designed to hold social gatherings from the beginning. In 1971, the church was purchased by the Marshall Civic Foundation and soon became the Marshall Civic Center. In the early 2000s, the community came together to renovate and restore the building to its former glory. Renovations were finished in 2016, providing a place for the locals to celebrate creativity and explore new artistic endeavors.

Excellently situated in the heart of downtown Marshall, this opulent wedding venue is just steps away from many local points of interest. Nearby attractions include the American Museum of Magic, Schuler's Restaurant & Pub, and Honolulu House Museum. Out-of-town guests can spend their time in the city enjoying scenic walks along the North Branch Kalamazoo River, and visiting its many museums.
