From microweddings to seated dinners, The Delaware Contemporary features versatile 33,000 square feet of space that couples can enjoy with their friends and family. This venue offers seven art galleries that provide a wonderful, engaging backdrop for a small ceremony, cocktail hour, or intimate dinner.

The Delaware Contemporary is a unique wedding venue located in Wilmington, Delaware. Not only is this a beautiful & stylish site to exchange your vows in, but it also features a rich history. In fact, at one point in its past, this venue served as a railroad car factory. Over the years, however, it was renovated and remodeled into an industrial museum. Couples today can experience this modernly styled space on their special day.

Facilities and Capacity
The Delaware Contemporary features 33,000 square feet of space that couples can enjoy with up to 200 of their friends and family. This venue also features a total of seven art galleries that you are welcome to incorporate into your bridal shower, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. On your wedding day, you will truly get to express yourself at this venue because it serves as a “blank canvas” for any style of wedding you are planning. Also, this art museum is situated right on the Riverfront Wilmington. This prime location places you and your guests near many fun local things to do in the area.

This review is long overdue, but for anyone thinking of having their wedding at the Delaware Contemporary - DO IT!

Meagan was a joy to work with, and was incredibly helpful in communicating with our vendors, making recommendations to fit our needs, and completely organizing day-of setup. She completely took all the stress away from us so we could enjoy our day.

The venue is beautiful, the galleries are amazing, and for the price you really can't beat it. This is a great space for the DIY couples out there that want to really personalize the space to be their own. We wouldn't give booking this venue a second thought if we had to do it all over again. Thank you Meagan and DCCA!

Meagan was fabulous! She always answered my emails within 24 hours and was always available for questions. She gave me ideas on how the venue would be set up and then proceeded to set everything up exactly how I dreamed. She followed up with vendors to make sure everything was coordinated properly. She helped me have my dream wedding. The venue itself was really cool! During cocktail hour, there was a scavenger hunt through the exhibits. The dance floor was set up in the middle of the lobby, with the dinner tables around it. We loved this venue!

We LOVED having our wedding at the Delaware Contemporary! Meagan was always on the ball and very helpful. She helped us really nail down what we wanted our ceremony and reception spaces to look like, offered ideas for where to take pictures that best featured the galleries available to us, and was there the day of to make sure everything was just how we had wanted. We had an amazing day, could not have asked for more.

This place is beyond compare. I am the happiest camper ever since we held our dream wedding there!!! Meagan Mika and the staff at the DCCA made all my bridal dreams, wishes, (and demands haha) come true. Everyone there was so gracious and helpful it was truly remarkable. The space is industrial chic, super clean/cool, and full of notable local art works and endless photo ops. I wouldn't have changed a second of it, everything was ON POINT!!! Go to this museum, I trust you'll recognize the greatness inherent there. All my gratitude to the staff for your amazing work on our event!

We used Delaware Contemporary for my daughters wedding, and are completely delighted with our choice! Meagan (from Delaware Contemporary) was extremely helpful, and the 'blank slate' nature of the venue allowed us to add many personal touches which resulted in a very personalized, individual wedding vs. a 'cookie cutter' feel. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful the venue was!

Keeping the entire event down by the waterfront was wonderful - we used the Contemporary's discounted rate for the Westin, the nearby Environmental Center for the couples photographs, waterfront restaurants for the rehearsal dinner, and for the event itself, everything in one place (wedding was in the auditorium, cocktails in the galleries, reception in the lobby) was wonderful! It gave an upbeat urban feel to a very comfortable location, convenient to our local Wilmington guests as well as our out of town guests who ranged from Virginia to New York.

The wedding was everything my daughter and her husband had wanted - and the Delaware Contemporary made it possible!

Our wedding at the DCCA was perfect. Ashlee was amazing from start to finish! I was planning from out of state and she always responded very quickly to emails and always maintained a can-do attitude about my complicated decorating ideas. I really enjoyed working with her and can't say enough nice things about her. Also the venue space itself was a wonderful, elegant, fun, relaxed, unique atmosphere. I received multiple compliments on the venue choice from guests. I would highly recommend this venue!

I recently hosted a fundraiser at the DCCA and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Ashlee McCullough and the staff were terrific to work with. She was very accommodating and responsive to any requests or questions I had. Very professional and made you feel at ease. The venue itself is very cool and unique. It's a great space. Loved that my guests were able to view the art throughout the night too. I got lots of positive feedback from the attendees. I would highly recommend the DCCA!!!

This was a fantastic venue and a great value, especially for creative types like us. Jimmy Duffy's catering accomodated our budget and served delicious appetizers and dinner at a reasonable price. Really good food. This allowed us to concentrate our funds on decorating (although the venue is cool enough without adding much) and live music. DCCA staff worked tirelessly to decorate per our specifications and Ashlee McCullough kept things organized and smoothly running. She is responsive to questions and requests and very graciously stored our stuff until our wedding. She and Duffy's made a great team in terms of orchestrating the timeline of our reception and ceremony. They know what they're doing and it shows. I cannot believe that we had such a unique and memorable wedding and reception for 160 guests within our budget. RAVES all around.
