Located in Callicoon, New York, The Barn on Hubbard is a rustic and charming wedding venue. This fully restored 19th-century barn is ideal for couples who want a vintage wedding with all the modern amenities required for remarkable celebrations. The barn was originally built in the 1800s by the Gabel family from Germany. Dairy farmers by trade, this barn was the family's home and livelihood for many generations. Surrounded by picturesque meadows and the Catskill Mountains, the barn is now a desirable wedding site for those dreaming of a naturalistic festivity.

Facilities and Capacity

The Barn on Hubbard has over 4,000 square feet of indoor space for memorable ceremonies, banquets, and receptions that run into the night. Complete with original wooden beams, intimate lighting, and large barns doors, this space can be configured however you desire. The round Silo area attached to the barn acts as your beverage area where guests can collect their drinks. For further convenience, there are two private bathrooms and a catering preparation room attached to the side of the barn. For those seeking to exchange vows in the great outdoors, The Barn on Hubbard is encompassed by over 28 acres of luscious land. Couples are spoilt for choice when choosing their designated ceremonial area. All indoor and outdoor event spaces can be used simultaneously so couples and their guests can explore the area. Additional outdoor event spaces include the patio. Couples and their guests can converse in this tranquil area as the sun sets over the Catskill Mountains.

Services Offered

This venue’s wedding package includes full private access to the property for up to three days. During this time you and your guests can explore the acres of land surrounding this venue, making memories that will last a lifetime. The staff at the property will also help with the set up of all decor. An array of event items such as tables, chairs, lighting, tents, and a dance floor can be provided. Private on-site parking is also permitted.

From the moment we first inquired, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, guiding us through every step of the planning process. On the day of, the venue looked absolutely beautiful - the rustic charm of the barn complemented by the elegant decor we had chosen. Magical rustic barn venue

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting several artisan markets at The Barn on Hubbard. This historic barn sits on a stunning property with sweeping views of rolling green trees, dairy farms, and unforgettable sunsets. Sara is a joy to work with, and we always recommend this venue to others.

Family Reunion

Just spent the weekend at The Barn on Hubbard for a family reunion. The feel is relaxing and the perfect spot for multi generations with plenty of opportunity for outside games. Although this was not a wedding, I can picture the long wood tables with flowers and candles creating a romantic atmosphere. The view through the barn doors would be a perfect backdrop for the ceremony. For us, it was perfect and we will certainly do this again

The Perfect Rustic Wedding Canvas

The Barn on Hubbard was host to our wedding this past October, and there aren't enough words to praise this spectacular venue! It is a gorgeously rustic blank canvas that lets you build every detail of your perfect wedding day from the ground up. It's affordable, amazingly well-maintained, and Sara, the owner, is truly the best; the way she accommodated our requests and answered our questions made her feel more like a partner in planning than the owner of our venue. The bar built into the old barn silo and the open lawn nestled in the center of the cornfield are just two of the details that make this place one of a kind. 10/10 would recommend, the barn will be in our hearts forever!!

The Barn on Hubbard - perfect in every way!

The Barn on Hubbard was absolutely perfect in every way. We were married there in October 2018 and could not have asked for a better experience. The Barn's scenery in the Fall, set on a back road on a sprawling hill is to die for and made for wonderful photo opportunities. The Barn has beautiful natural lighting, a very cool bar built into an old silo, a great outdoor patio and a large lawn space perfect for games and activities. The best part about the Barn on Hubbard was that we were free to bring in all of our own vendors and decorate however we wanted, which helped us tremendously with cost savings. This wasn't your typical cookie-cutter venue where it is overpriced, one-stop shopping. We are from the city, so we thought it would be challenging to plan a wedding about 2 hours way, but Sara went above and beyond the call of duty. She provided excellent recommendations, was readily available to answer all questions, accommodated our rental company with drop off the day before, allowed us to decorate the day before, and helped to prepare a number of other things leading up to the wedding - not to mention everything she did the day of the event, from assisting with parking, to making sure everything was running smoothly. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding, or any event, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Barn, the people who run it, and the time we had planning/celebrating our wedding! Book now!

The place was really just perfect for our wedding, and pretty affordable compared to everything else we looked at. Sara was incredibly wonderful to work with, especially given how frazzled I was towards the end of planning haha -- answering all of my questions and being so so helpful. Everyone loved how beautiful the venue was, there's tons of space to work with and lots of options for where to have the actual ceremony. Also, if you need a day-of coordinator, I HIGHLY recommend Sara's (the barn owner) sister-in-law amanda. She was simply the best. Helped make everything flow smoothly and was unbelievably nice. Plus she already knows the barn so well, so when we ran into any minor glitches (like when one of the outlets stopped working temporarily), she got it working again so quickly. Can't say enough good things about the people who operate this venue. Pleaseeee book your wedding here :)

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding reception!! The barn is beautiful in so many ways. The building itself was renovated with so many amazing details including a bar silo, gorgeous wood work, high ceilings, and on and on. The property surrounding the barn is a huge field with great views and a killer sunset for amazing photos and just enjoying the evening. Our guests utilized the whole space so a couple hours into the party we had people inside finishing up dinner, drinking and talking as well as outside sitting on the grassy hill watching the band and playing field games. People were really able to enjoy themselves specifically thanks to the design of the venue. And Sara and John went above and beyond in helping us organize the whole event. They were there in the months leading up to it and the day of to answer any concerns. We cannot recommend this venue enough!! It made one of the most important days of our lives the best it could be.

The perfect venue for our wedding! I loved every thing about the barn- the natural lighting is beautiful, the uniquely awesome bar built into the silo, the out door patio, the custom concrete and wood work throughout the space, the natural setting on a back road- and the view at sunset was priceless! Photo opportunities are endless. The barn is spacious- plenty of room for guests through the evening- ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. Located near to the Villa Roma and many bed & breakfasts for out of town accommodations, and easily off of the main road making it perfect for both local and out of town guests! I highly recommend this venue for a wedding (or any event really)!! Thank you to The Barn on Hubbard!

The Perfect Catskills Wedding Venue!!

We got married at The Barn on Hubbard in the Catskills, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking—an old rustic barn that has been thoughtfully renovated, keeping all of its original charm while adding just the right modern touches. It made for the most beautiful backdrop to our day.

From the very beginning, Sarah was wonderful to work with. She was responsive, helpful, and always a great communicator, which made planning so much easier. I had always dreamed of getting married at home in the Catskills, and after visiting a number of venues in the area, The Barn on Hubbard was by far the one that felt right. It struck the perfect balance of cozy, elegant, and natural.

Our wedding day was everything we envisioned—warm, joyful, and stunning from start to finish. I truly wouldn’t have changed a thing, and I can’t recommend this venue enough to any couple looking for a Catskills wedding!
