The Hitching Post at Tetz Family Clydesdale Farm is a rustic wedding venue in Chester, New York. Set at the heart of the Hudson Valley, this versatile event facility is surrounded by leafy trees, hanging petunias and luscious greenery. Here, you and your partner can say, "I do," in a peaceful setting brimming with vintage charm and nature's beauty.
Facilities and Capacity
At Tetz Family Clydesdale Farm, you can look forward to celebrating your wedding across several event spaces. The newly reconstructed barn features old white oak beams dating from the late 19th century and effectively combines antique accents with contemporary interiors. This bright and airy space is ideal for dining and dancing the night away and is sure to be a hit with guests.
Just steps from our Barn, is a newly constructed 7,000 square foot Indoor/Outdoor Pavilion fitted with a full Bridal Suite, Kitchen, Restrooms and DJ Booth.
Outdoors, the farm offers plenty of places to take vibrant photographs and exchange your vows. For an open-air ceremony, you can tie the knot among the trees while your loved ones look on and share your joy.
Services Offered
A variety of services are available at Tetz Family Clydesdale Farm to make your wedding a memorable and magical occasion. We offer Full Service Catering for Food and Beverage Packages, along with recommendations for all other Vendors! When your big day arrives, a dedicated coordinator will be present to oversee the event, ensuring everything runs smoothly and according to plan. Parking is also available on the property for up to 75 vehicles.

Amazing Venue!
The Tetz Family along with the hospitality team at Otterkill Country Club have been nothing short of wonderful during our wedding planning all the way through our wedding day! Our guests had a blast! Many reached out the next morning to let us know that the food was the best they’ve ever had at a wedding! The landscaping is immaculate, the Clydesdales are majestic, and the attention to detail was unmatched! We would relive our wedding day over and over again if we could, thanks to the amazing work of the whole Tetz Family Team! We would highly recommend this venue to any couple getting married or anyone who is looking to host a big event! 100/10!!

West Point Graduation Reception
Tetz Family Clydesdale Farm was the perfect venue for our West Point graduation reception—truly above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care, pride, and love goes into every detail of this stunning property.
The setting is absolutely breathtaking—picturesque views, charming rustic elegance, and of course, the beautiful Clydesdales that add such a special, unforgettable touch. The venue was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully laid out to create a seamless flow for guests.
The staff and hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and went out of their way to make everything run smoothly. They treated us like family and made sure every detail was taken care of, which allowed us to fully enjoy the celebration without any stress. Beautiful and memorable
We had the most incredible wedding thanks to Corey and the teams at Otterkill Golf Club and Tetz Family Clydesdale Farm. From the very beginning, Corey made the planning process seamless. The food was beyond fantastic, and the drinks were flowing all night. Corey even went the extra mile to get our favorite beer from a Brooklyn brewery, which was a special touch. Joe Tetz at the farm was super accommodating and allowed us to stop by on multiple occasions prior to the wedding. He keeps such a beautiful property that made for an incredible backdrop to our wedding. The bridal suite is fantastic and the coffee, tea and mimosa spread in the morning was a great addition. The maitre d, Jamie, was exceptionally attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect and that our guests with food allergies were well taken care of. The team handled all the cleanup and made it easy for us to pick up everything the next day. I truly cannot recommend Corey and Tetz Family Clydesdale Farm enough for a flawless and unforgettable wedding experience!

The property is beautiful and beautifully maintained - the pavilion and the barn are wonderful backdrops to any style of event.
The horses are beautiful and make a great backdrop. The options for the location are more than one might think - think arrival via horse drawn carriage - there are several carriages to choose from!!!
Corey was an absolute pleasure to work with. It’s clear he wants to work with his clients to help them have an amazing event. He is very knowledgeable and yet has an easy going way. He worked with Merritt to get the right menu to fit our budget!
Brayden, our maitre d for the event, was very attentive, always smiling and wonderful to us as hosts, our DJ and all the guests. He and his team made our event one that we could simply enjoy - they took care of every detail even when the wind kicked up and the unexpected rain came. The rain did not disappoint- it even brought us a beautiful rainbow!
The rest of the staff were all very helpful and efficient.

Everything about this place is amazing! Clean and professional! The perfect day.
I got married here in September, and everything was spectacular! Not only was the property spotless and clean, but the staff and owners of the property were so amazing and accommodating. Corey who was my right hand man took care of everything! He had an answer to ever single question and helped me through the entire process. We loved the horses, they would even come up to say hi! Not to mention the food was delicious. I have some food allergies as well as some guests and Corey made sure myself and each guest got the correct dishes. Everything about this place was amazing. I am so thankful we found them and had our special day there! I wouldn’t have changed one thing. The day was perfect!!
