The Barn at Powder Major's Farm is a rustic yet elegant wedding venue in the seacoast region of New Hampshire. This historic farm property is surrounded by 200 acres of forest land, farm fields and pond with beautiful scenic views. The antique timber frame barn has been newly renovated and lovingly restored creating a perfect blend of authenticity, elegance and modern convenience. This picturesque private country estate offers indoor and outdoor flexibility for an unforgettable wedding ceremony and/ or reception. Once the homestead of New Hampshire patriot John DeMerritt, (aka the Powder Major), the property played an important role in the Revolutionary War and has been owned and occupied by just two families since the 1600s. It now provides the perfect setting that allows you to create your own history at the Powder Major’s Farm.
Facilities and Capacity
The Barn at Powder Major's Farm can accommodate 150 guests. The 40 x 80 foot barn was built in 1804. An adjoining timber-frame structure is also available for use and can serve as a ceremony site in the event of inclement weather. The main barn has a circular stone patio that overlooks the farm providing sweeping views of the fields, forest and pond, an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony. In addition, the venue has indoor bathrooms and is air-conditioned and heated.
