About

The Barn at Howard Creek Farm is a rustic wedding barn venue in Howard, Colorado. Here, you and your guests can partake in a beautiful experience when you say 'I do'. With scenic views of the Arkansas River and the 13,000-foot Twin Sister peaks of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, you will have a gorgeous mountain backdrop for your special day.

Facilities and Capacity

The Barn at Howard Creek Farm is open for weddings in the months of May through September. This 1890s 11-acre property is a working farm, complete with hay pastures, honey bee hives, growing hops, and more. The venue can host receptions for up to 150 guests, with the barn offering 3,200 square feet of space for indoor events, as well as elegant string lighting throughout. The barn loft acts as a get-ready room for the wedding party. An attached and covered porch is perfect for enjoying the outdoors with some protection from the elements. Large double barn doors open to unify the indoor and outdoor areas, allowing you and your guests an immersive view of the mountains and forests. These views are even clearer at the outdoor ceremony site, which offers bench seating for up to 150 guests to witness your vows. They can even arrange that you arrive or leave the ceremony via a boat on the river.

Services Offered

Your wedding ceremony and reception can both be held at this venue, with customized packages available. These packages include wedding planning services, event rentals, transportation from your lodgings, and more. The location also offers an hour on a day prior to your wedding for rehearsals. The on-site planner has over 12 years of event organizing experience and can readily assist you with wedding preparations. Event rentals available include an arch, unique decor pieces, centerpiece options, and lighting arrangements. For food and drink, outside vendors can be called upon to create delicious menus. A list of preferred vendors is also available for couples to use to plan the rest of their celebration.

Location

Located in Howard, Colorado, and just a 15-minute drive from Salida, Colorado, this venue is just off US-50. Only a short drive from several mountains and national forests, guests can bask in the scenic, natural surroundings. It is also around three hours from the bustling city of Denver, offering plenty more to explore.

Unforgettable wedding memories!

We had an incredible experience at Howard Creek Farm. The team was kind, attentive, and communicative throughout the entire process, making everything feel effortless. Their beautiful spaces and gracious support truly made our day unforgettable.

Beautiful Venue!

When my husband and I first got engaged, we booked multiple venues to tour to see which one we wanted for our wedding. The Barn was the first one on our list to tour, and I was ready to cancel the other tours we had scheduled. This place is beautiful; the views, the barn, everything! We have family all over the world, so we wanted to show our family where WE live (Chaffee County), and it was just perfect. Aly and her husband are wonderful as well. We hired Aly as our Wedding Planner as well, and she is so easy to talk to and was great at giving us recommendations when we weren't sure what to do. I 10/10 recommend everything about this location. :)

Mountain/River views by day, Milky Way views by night - 10/10 Book this venue

We had the absolute best time getting hitched at this venue. Aly helped execute on everything, including coordinating day of vendors, and it was perfect. Guests arrived via shuttles (ours stayed in Salida, no issues with 120ish folks finding places to stay - look at Blue Coyote Ranch for tons of capacity for entire wedding party/family), and it was a blast for them from start to finish. Get off shuttle, grab a drink, attend beautiful ceremony in the field with the sound of the river coming from behind and iconic mountain views in the front, cocktail hour outside enjoy the views, and then the most fun time inside the beautiful barn for dinner and dancing. Literally no negative notes.

We were worried that our guests who travelled from out of town would be annoyed by the distance haha, but seemingly 50%+ of the guests have photos from the venue as their social media pics / holiday card photos, and dang near everyone commented that the wedding venue was one of the most beautiful/fun they've ever been to. And you can see the literal Milky Way when standing in the field at night. If people weren't on the dance floor (book DJ Cyn from Denver, absolute banger after banger), they were standing in the field with a drink gazing up at the skies.

Anyway, highly recommend you book this place and work with Aly. Wouldn't change a thing about our day!

Perfect venue near a great little mountain town

Our September wedding at the Barn at Howard Creek Farm was everything we hoped for and more. First, the Barn is absolutely gorgeous, and the mountain views are unbelievable. Second, Salida (which is only about 15 minutes from the venue) is such a cute mountain town for the bridal party, family, and guests to explore in the days before and after the wedding. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Aly and Orlin (the owners of the venue) are so wonderful. They have thought of just about everything to make weddings at the Barn run smoothly and to make your wedding day great--picturesque ceremony site, amazing farm tables, cute string lighting, two bars, a lovely bridal suite, and nice bathrooms are all included at this venue. Aly and Orlin were communicative, flexible, accommodating, and also just fun people to be around. Also, we are a gay couple, and we can confidently say that this venue and the owners are LGBT friendly--inviting and welcoming to all types of couples. We could not have found a better venue, and we are so happy we got married at the Barn at Howard Creek Farm!

We hosted our wedding at The Barn at Howard Creek.

We LOVED getting married at The Barn at Howard Creek Farm! During our very first visit almost two years ago we immediately felt so comfortable there and like we had found the perfect place for our big day. Aly and her family are truly such amazing people and the barn/its surroundings are breathtaking. We also hired Aly as our day of coordinator and she was so terrific and made the whole experience so easy and wonderful. Above anything else at our wedding, our guests complimented the venue the most. Everyone really loved it.

Gorgeous views and amazing team!

Aly and Orlin are amazing! From visiting the barn to signing a contract, it was a seamless process. Aly answered all of my questions quickly and was incredibly patient with me. She is a gem and we couldn't have done this without her! The barn and surrounding views are stunning! I loved everything about it. The mismatched tables and chairs matched my vision for modern vintage perfectly. Even though we were forced to pivot due to a thunderstorm, Aly and Orlin made sure it was still a beautiful and thoughtful experience. We will cherish our time at the barn for years to come!

Our dream wedding

The best thing that could have happened to us was our previous venue cancelling on us just weeks before our wedding. Amazingly, Ali and her team at the Barn at Howard Creek Farm just happened to have our exact date open up the day we lost that venue, and the rest was is history!

The Barn at Howard Creek Farm was the rustic, elegant and romantic setting that I had dreamed of and the perfect place to bring my vision to life. Between the ceremony site, the bridal suite, the surrounding landscape, and the barn itself, everything came together and our guests couldn’t stop raving about they’re experience. Rustic Chic/Boho Wedding Venue

My husband and I loved the idea of getting married near Salida, Colorado. We had always enjoyed the town and the views of the mountains. We came across The Barn at Howard Creek Farm and after the tour we fell instantly in love with the venue. The views of the mountains from the ceremony site are to die for, and the mis-matched antique chairs in the barn give it a classy and rustic/boho vibe. Aly, the venue owner, has also been a wedding planner for over 14 years and offers her services as a wedding coordinator. She was extremely responsive, usually responding to my emails within the hour! This venue was the absolute perfect place for our wedding and we would not have changed a single thing!

Amazing Venue for our Pandemic Wedding!!!

We decided to do a much smaller than planned celebration on our original date (7/31/20) and are so glad we did! We plan to return for a one year anniversary celebration, hopefully with more family and friends next year. Aly and Orlin were wonderful owners to work with. In such an unprescedented year, they were calm and organized. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the property! We really chose to let the property shine by only adding some colorful details, but not going crazy with decorations...there's no need to disguise the amazing property! We had to relocate from the main ceremony site 15 minutes in due to a typical Colorado afternoon rain storm and Aly magically appeared with umbrellas for our guests. We relocated to the Barn porch and it ended up being a memorable and perfect ceremony. Communication with Aly was so quick and easy. She answered all my crazy questions and helped us find some wonderful local vendors to work with! We highly recommend The Barn at Howard Creek Farm. We also highly recommend using Aly as your planner! I am a non planner and NEEDED someone with her expertise, calm attitude, and flexible nature to help make our day perfect!

We LOVED the Barn at Howard Creek Farm!

Absolutely GORGEOUS wedding venue, and the owners, are incredibly kind, flexible, and professional! The ceremony site is placed perfectly in front of a jaw-dropping view of the mountains, the barn is ridiculously beautiful and great for mountain modern weddings, and the bridal suite and groomsmen hideaway are so unique and comfortable. Highly recommend this venue to any couple getting married!
