Brenda and Pete were attentive, supportive, and made sure our day was perfect. Brenda served as our day of coordinator and Pete was our officiant. The property was beautiful and there were numerous locations to take our photos. All of our vendors raved about the property. Set up and tear down was a breeze thanks to Brenda’s guidance. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended and were in awe of the venue and how smoothly everything went.

Terrapin Hill Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. The communication with the owners was prompt, laid-back, and flexible - they were always available to answer our questions and accommodate our needs. The quality of their work and overall value was exceptional. The space is absolutely perfect and full of options for whatever your needs may be. The owners were there to help with anything we needed on the day of the wedding - my mom and I even got to ride to the aisle in a vintage Cadillac! This venue was absolutely perfect for the wedding we wanted, as the ceremony spot was so beautiful on its own that no additional decoration was needed. Everyone onsite was kind and easygoing, which made for an stress-free wedding day. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We had our wedding and reception at Terrapin Hill Farm and had a great and unforgettable experience there. We love nature and the outdoors and wanted to have an event that reflected those values – Terrapin Hill Farm was a great fit for us and Brenda and Pete made sure our event went smoothly from the planning stage through cleanup. The farm’s setting is rustic and serene while its handmade facilities, many from local wood, reveal skill and a unique personal touch.

The front house, a renovated and updated farm house, was a perfect get away space for the bride and groom and a number of close friends and family. It was within easy walking distance of the main event, but far enough way to serve as a private staging ground. The house has a back deck and views of horses in the field. It makes for an excellent small gathering space for family dinner the night before or just a place to sleep and/or relax.

The rain held off, so we had our ceremony outdoors at The Chapel stage, which is a large A-frame structure surrounded by trees on all sides. Pete drove us up to the end of the aisle in his old Cadillac, which made for quite an entrance! We planned in advance that if there was rain, we would hold the ceremony in the Pavilion.

The Pavilion has a concrete and tile floor with a closed roof. It also has plastic curtains if needed in case of rain. Our 120 guests, serving and event tables, and the stage for the band fit comfortably in this space. Brenda and Pete helped us plan our decorations and we chose tables covered in white cloth (although there are some nice tie-dyed tablecloths available as well!), serving tables, string lights, and a disco ball. It was a terrific setting after the ceremony. They have a collection of vases at the farm that made it easy for our florist to set up on site.

We used a nearby wooden cabin/shed for the bar. The event tent next to the bar provided space for snacks before the event and shade and cover from any rain. Brenda recommended a bar tender that our guests loved!

Our guests had plenty of space to wander and camp. The rustic cottages were popular with people who wanted to stay on site without lugging in camping gear. The ponds and trees were great backdrops for photos. Some of our guests enjoyed checking out the frogs, while others played frisbee or enjoyed Pete’s amazing bonfire. We talked with him about it, and he salvages unique large pieces of wood for impressive (but safe!) fires. S’mores are an option.

The facilities are lovely, but even more impressive was the assistance we got from Brenda and Pete, which was invaluable. They met us twice before the event, once for initial showing of the space and then again two weeks before the reception. They walked us through their amenities and answered all our questions (even ones we didn’t know to ask!), both in person and via email or text. Further, they were there for us during the event, bringing a sense of calm and professionalism. Their experience was evident – they were unflappable and easily solved our small issues on the day of the event. They made things really amazing for us.

It is hard to count all the good things we could say about Terrapin Hill Farm and Pete and Brenda. In sum, though, we loved our experience and think you will too.

An incredible weekend at the most gorgeous venue!! The ceremony spot was beautiful, with panoramic views of the Kentucky landscape. The reception area in the pavilion was perfect and big enough for all the tables, dance floor, and stage for live entertainment! We absolutely LOVED being able to stay on site in the farm house and cottages the day before and night of- relieved so much stress of not having to drive around the day of.
Brenda and Pete were great hosts, and offered just about anything we could need! There’s so much more I could say. 1000/10 would recommend working with them, and having your special day at this special spot!

Terrapin Hill Farm was an absolute delight to work with for our 4-day camping wedding and music festival. Their communication style was prompt and succinct, and the quality of their work was unsurpassed. The team was attentive to upkeep, and we never saw any trash on the property. They were also diligent about cleaning and making sure amenities remained stocked and trash receptacles not full. They were clearly proud of their magical property. Brenda, Pete, and Jonah were always in the right place at the right time, anticipating our needs and being helpful and courteous to all of our guests without being prompted or asked to.

In the planning process, the Terrapin Hill Farm team was solution-oriented, expert communicators, and proactive in calling attention to best practices from their prior experience. They were always willing to work with us, even on the crazy things we asked of them, and when something wasn't possible, they offered alternative suggestions.

Brenda and Pete (the owners) are the consummate of hosts. They seamlessly and gracefully allow all guests to feel welcome on their little slice of magic of land. They were professional and helpful throughout the whole process. Going above and beyond to be hospitable and showcase their beautiful property for others to enjoy.

I hope to be able to host more events there in the coming years.

We recently had our wedding here - we did a multi-day event and everything turned out perfect!! The venue was gorgeous and Pete & Brenda were lovely to work with. I especially loved the bonfire.

The grooms live in Washington DC, the respective families live in Norfolk VA and Omaha Nebraska, so the 1/2 way point for both families to get to by driving was Lexington KY. Collin and Nate visited Terrapin Hill Farm in the fall of 2022 to check it out as a wedding venue. They loved the feel and beauty of the farm and soon booked the venue for their June 2024 wedding. The owners, Brenda and Pete, were so welcoming to the boys & both families. The rehearsal dinner, as well as the wedding, was hosted at the farm and Brenda was so attentive to my many long distance emails & texts with a million questions and my quick visit to May to finalize rehearsal plans. She met the caterer and I at the farm to make sure the rehearsal celebration would be as comfortable and relaxed as the wedding. They were so helpful in setting up the tables around the farmhouse area and made sure the grounds were mowed and manicured, bonfires ready to light, for the wedding and rehearsal dinner events. This venue is a perfect venue for a rustic, outdoor event and Pete and Brenda truly love sharing their farm for events like ours. If you are looking for a unique and magical place for a joyful event, Terrapin Hill Farm is the place!
