About

Located in Braithwaite, Louisiana, Stella is an event venue suitable for hosting weddings. Couples can hold their ceremony and reception surrounded by 1500 acres of natural landscape. The venue contains a number of covered and uncovered event spaces across the grounds, including the steps of the house.

Facilities and Capacity

Stella can accommodate between 25 and 1,000 guests, with a variety of site options available depending on the scale of your celebrations. The entrance to the main residence can be decorated to reflect your vision for an outdoor gathering. The mansion’s facade features two-story columns, a low-pitched roof, and complete symmetry. Additionally, there are a number of sites on the grounds for receptions, including a covered pavilion which you can embellish to make your own. Side panels can be removed to open the celebrations into the night and the space is climate-controlled to help keep guests cool on hot days. Alternatively, interior barn-style facilities are also available for the reception. A well-appointed guest house with a number of amenities is provided for the wedding party to get ready in.

Services Offered

The professional team at the venue offers an abundance of services to help the occasion run as smoothly as possible. Their on-site event planner works with couples to help create their vision. They can organize a range of unique add-ons, such as a decor package, outdoor games including giant Jenga and Corn Hole, and a photo booth. For a memorable farewell, an additional feature of their service includes an exuberant fireworks display. Furthermore, the venue allows outside vendors so couples can further tailor the experience to meet their requirements. Customizable menu options are available to help ensure that every element of the special day reflects couples’ themes.

Accommodation

The main house on the grounds provides sleeping facilities for the couple of honor and their closest loved ones. The five-bedroom mansion contains lounge areas, a poker table, and a large bar. Additionally, there is a private honeymoon suite available for the newlyweds, featuring a king-sized bed and marble restroom.

Magical, beautiful venue

Stella was everything I could dream of! You get a blank canvas to decorate anyway you can think of and Shelby - the venue coordinator was the best! I would do it all over again!

Everything about Stella is perfect and you should absolutely book it for your wedding or event if you are looking for a outdoor/plantation venue. We had out December 9th, 2017 Sangeet event (wedding event 1 for Indian wedding weekends) at Stella and from start to finish we are so happy with how everything turned out.

Selecting the venue:
We chose stella on our first visit to New Orleans (we are from New York) in April. Our only concerns were the distance from downtown where our guests were going to be staying, and the backup plan for inclement weather. In the end we decided the place and overall value were worth those risks and booked it!

Wedding Planning:
Everything regarding Stella in terms of planning was easy and amazing. From site visits by our vendors, to responsiveness for meetings and calls, to flexibility in last minute changes - Caroline made it very easy for us to plan our big fat indian affair at the plantation. This is particularly amazing \ considering we were out of town and only ever visited the venue twice before the big day!

The Event:
This weekend ended up being one of the coldest on record for New Orleans so we had to make some big changes to our layout and fast. With Caroline's help we booked a tent and outdoor heaters to make the beautiful lawn usable in the near freezing temps. During the event Caroline helped to make sure we could close the tent and get the heater in the tent working to make it as comfortable as possible for the majority of the event when people were inside. While we wish we had better weather the wildly unepxected conditions were dealt with wonderfully by Stella and in the end we have no regrets :)

Thank you so much for making our event so special. Caroline really went above and beyond in every opportunity she could. We only wish we could come back and do it again :)

I fell in love the moment I arrive to Stella! Being from Arizona this place was to die for, the trees, the grass and the buildings! It was such a pleasure working with Caroline Parrone while planning our wedding. She is so kind and made sure every detail was exactly what we wanted! Stella provides a whole list of vendors they work with and everyone was professional and amazing!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Stella Plantation on 9/3/2016, and we cannot say enough about it. The venue was absolutely perfect, multiple guests told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The grounds are stunningly beautiful, and the venue is truly versatile – the staff is able to transform it to become your dream wedding. The manicured grounds and magnificent oak trees made a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony and pictures. We loved the yard games Stella provided for extra entertainment for the guests. Even the bathrooms are beautiful. Stella Plantation is a hidden gem where we had a wedding better than we could have imagined.
Caroline was amazing through the entire planning process and even better on the wedding day. She truly cared about us and made sure this day was perfect and special for us. From the beginning she strove to understand who we are and what we care about (good food, good drinks, beautiful scenery and a good time for all of our guests). She had creative ideas for décor, guest favors, and photo ops to make the day extra special for us and our loved ones. She made Stella Plantation and the wedding day “ours,” and went above and beyond to take care of all the little details on the wedding day so we could enjoy the experience (gathering items to send home with us, paying the vendors, gathering cards, providing bug spray, the list goes on). She also understood how stressed I got from planning the details, and made the process simple and easy to take as much stress from me as possible. I really can’t say enough about what an amazing wedding planner she is – she is simply the best. We couldn’t have done it without her.

I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about Stella Plantation and Caroline Parrone, the event manager there. My husband and I got married at Stella in March and never once regretted our decision in choosing Stella for our ceremony and reception. For what all you get at this venue, it is a terrific value. First, the grounds are beautiful and provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. Second, the reception tent is very spacious, climate-controlled, and permanent to the property (which is perfect as far as not having to worry about possible rain). Third, they have on-site cottage areas for the bridal party and groomsmen to get ready in day of, which also photograph well. For catering and the bar, we went with Stella's recommended vendor (New Orleans Catering) and it was great. We also went with Stella's recommended fireworks display vendor, which also was great. Beyond just the grounds themselves and recommended vendors, on the day of our ceremony, Caroline went above and beyond to help make sure our day was executed well with as limited stress as possible. She was a great help to my wedding planner and her assistants by helping do whatever needed to be done. I would highly recommend considering Stella as your wedding venue!

We are from out of state and were searching for a venue. We compared Oak Alley, Nottoway and Stella Plantation, and my now husband and I were unanimous about going with Stella as our venue. Not only was it a fraction of the cost.. but we fell in luv with Caroline when we met her. You see, I am very big on customer service-- something I feel is lacking a lot in the industry today, so that was my stipulation when we went to view these venues. I didn't want a venue that was going to "sell" us something we didn't want. I wanted someone who genuinely wanted to host our wedding and make it the best day possible for us. Caroline initially told us that she is from New York (ding ding!), which to me is a flag that means she is a fast-paced worker with a great work ethic (I'm originally from the midwest, so work ethic is very high on my list of musts). She immediately shared with us several ideas for our wedding, ways to save, gave us vendors to vet, and more! We were sold! We could not have made a better decision. She was consistently helpful throughout the entire process. Being out of state and planning a wedding can be difficult. We were beyond appreciative of the help you provided us to make it the best day of our lives, AND stay in our budget.
The grounds were beautiful on the day of the wedding. We go lucky and managed to find the driest day of the weekend in several weekends (someone was watching over us!), and everything was so lush and green. Several of our guests now how their family photos with Stella as the backdrop because everything was so perfect.
The wedding day itself went off without any problems. We hired Caroline as our day-of coordinator, and she was on top of EVERYTHING! She scheduled everything and everyone, moved our guests where they may have been needed, informed our vendors of any changes, and more. We are so grateful we chose Stella as our venue and Caroline as our Coordinator. We could not have been happier!

We had our ceremony and reception at Stella on 3/5/16, my husband and I, along with our 175 guests had the most unforgettable, beautiful, fun, romantic and classy outdoor wedding experience. Every single one of our guests has told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. My husband and I, along with most of our guests, are from Illinois, and Caroline Parrone did the most amazing job referring us to vendors, helping us with decisions and providing her wedding coordination services. Stella is even more majestic and beautiful in person than any photo we could find online. Thank you Stella and Caroline for the most beautiful day of our lives <3

I highly recommend Stella Plantation as top notch venue for a traditional southern wedding. First, the grounds are naturally beautiful, impeccably kept, and provide a myriad of different backdrops for stunning wedding photographs. Whether you pose in front of the historic home, the 200 year-old oak trees, the other rustic but elegant buildings, or simply the open grounds, the opportunities are a photographer’s and bride’s dream for perfect wedding pictures.

Another great thing about Stella Plantation is the fact that it can accommodate a small and intimate wedding as well as one with hundreds of guests. My wedding ceremony had only 40 guests, and was held in an small area under one of the oak trees. Thereafter, more than 350 guests arrived for the reception. We were able to set up the grounds and tent with ease to accommodate the number of guests by opening the sides of the tent so that it could be extended with a “tent” of string lights out into the yard for a half indoor, half outdoor wedding. We also set up an outdoor screen and viewing area made up of hay benches and blankets for guests to watch a slideshow of our family pictures. The wedding coordinator and staff at Stella were wonderful to deal with and accommodated to the best of their ability every special request that we had. The food from the Stella Plantation preferred caterer, New Orleans Catering, was also outstanding. We had passed hors d'oeuvres, including grilled tuna and duck, a separate outdoor area with raw and charbroiled oysters being shucked and cooked to order, and inside the tent we served a variety of other traditional southern fare.

Stella offers the utmost versatility to create a bride’s own vision of her unique southern wedding, rather than so many venues that offer a one-size fits all, replicated wedding factory approach.

We had our daughters wedding at Stella Plantation on 9/26/15. Although this review is late, everything at Stella was right on time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, manicured, and everything, very well kept. Rental of The Guest House and The Cook House allowed us the time and ability to actually take it all in. Although this is all true, the most astounding aspect of this experience was dealing with the staff. Caroline Parrone(On Site Coordinator) is awesome. She would go above and beyond to make sure that everything was right. By the time it was over, she seemed more like family. Don't get me wrong, I never like spending money, but this was truly a great experience and I definitely would do it again.
