Magical, beautiful venue

Stella was everything I could dream of! You get a blank canvas to decorate anyway you can think of and Shelby - the venue coordinator was the best! I would do it all over again!

Everything about Stella is perfect and you should absolutely book it for your wedding or event if you are looking for a outdoor/plantation venue. We had out December 9th, 2017 Sangeet event (wedding event 1 for Indian wedding weekends) at Stella and from start to finish we are so happy with how everything turned out.

Selecting the venue:
We chose stella on our first visit to New Orleans (we are from New York) in April. Our only concerns were the distance from downtown where our guests were going to be staying, and the backup plan for inclement weather. In the end we decided the place and overall value were worth those risks and booked it!

Wedding Planning:
Everything regarding Stella in terms of planning was easy and amazing. From site visits by our vendors, to responsiveness for meetings and calls, to flexibility in last minute changes - Caroline made it very easy for us to plan our big fat indian affair at the plantation. This is particularly amazing \ considering we were out of town and only ever visited the venue twice before the big day!

The Event:
This weekend ended up being one of the coldest on record for New Orleans so we had to make some big changes to our layout and fast. With Caroline's help we booked a tent and outdoor heaters to make the beautiful lawn usable in the near freezing temps. During the event Caroline helped to make sure we could close the tent and get the heater in the tent working to make it as comfortable as possible for the majority of the event when people were inside. While we wish we had better weather the wildly unepxected conditions were dealt with wonderfully by Stella and in the end we have no regrets :)

Thank you so much for making our event so special. Caroline really went above and beyond in every opportunity she could. We only wish we could come back and do it again :)

I fell in love the moment I arrive to Stella! Being from Arizona this place was to die for, the trees, the grass and the buildings! It was such a pleasure working with Caroline Parrone while planning our wedding. She is so kind and made sure every detail was exactly what we wanted! Stella provides a whole list of vendors they work with and everyone was professional and amazing!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Stella Plantation on 9/3/2016, and we cannot say enough about it. The venue was absolutely perfect, multiple guests told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The grounds are stunningly beautiful, and the venue is truly versatile – the staff is able to transform it to become your dream wedding. The manicured grounds and magnificent oak trees made a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony and pictures. We loved the yard games Stella provided for extra entertainment for the guests. Even the bathrooms are beautiful. Stella Plantation is a hidden gem where we had a wedding better than we could have imagined.
Caroline was amazing through the entire planning process and even better on the wedding day. She truly cared about us and made sure this day was perfect and special for us. From the beginning she strove to understand who we are and what we care about (good food, good drinks, beautiful scenery and a good time for all of our guests). She had creative ideas for décor, guest favors, and photo ops to make the day extra special for us and our loved ones. She made Stella Plantation and the wedding day “ours,” and went above and beyond to take care of all the little details on the wedding day so we could enjoy the experience (gathering items to send home with us, paying the vendors, gathering cards, providing bug spray, the list goes on). She also understood how stressed I got from planning the details, and made the process simple and easy to take as much stress from me as possible. I really can’t say enough about what an amazing wedding planner she is – she is simply the best. We couldn’t have done it without her.

We are from out of state and were searching for a venue. We compared Oak Alley, Nottoway and Stella Plantation, and my now husband and I were unanimous about going with Stella as our venue. Not only was it a fraction of the cost.. but we fell in luv with Caroline when we met her. You see, I am very big on customer service-- something I feel is lacking a lot in the industry today, so that was my stipulation when we went to view these venues. I didn't want a venue that was going to "sell" us something we didn't want. I wanted someone who genuinely wanted to host our wedding and make it the best day possible for us. Caroline initially told us that she is from New York (ding ding!), which to me is a flag that means she is a fast-paced worker with a great work ethic (I'm originally from the midwest, so work ethic is very high on my list of musts). She immediately shared with us several ideas for our wedding, ways to save, gave us vendors to vet, and more! We were sold! We could not have made a better decision. She was consistently helpful throughout the entire process. Being out of state and planning a wedding can be difficult. We were beyond appreciative of the help you provided us to make it the best day of our lives, AND stay in our budget.
The grounds were beautiful on the day of the wedding. We go lucky and managed to find the driest day of the weekend in several weekends (someone was watching over us!), and everything was so lush and green. Several of our guests now how their family photos with Stella as the backdrop because everything was so perfect.
The wedding day itself went off without any problems. We hired Caroline as our day-of coordinator, and she was on top of EVERYTHING! She scheduled everything and everyone, moved our guests where they may have been needed, informed our vendors of any changes, and more. We are so grateful we chose Stella as our venue and Caroline as our Coordinator. We could not have been happier!

I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about Stella Plantation and Caroline Parrone, the event manager there. My husband and I got married at Stella in March and never once regretted our decision in choosing Stella for our ceremony and reception. For what all you get at this venue, it is a terrific value. First, the grounds are beautiful and provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. Second, the reception tent is very spacious, climate-controlled, and permanent to the property (which is perfect as far as not having to worry about possible rain). Third, they have on-site cottage areas for the bridal party and groomsmen to get ready in day of, which also photograph well. For catering and the bar, we went with Stella's recommended vendor (New Orleans Catering) and it was great. We also went with Stella's recommended fireworks display vendor, which also was great. Beyond just the grounds themselves and recommended vendors, on the day of our ceremony, Caroline went above and beyond to help make sure our day was executed well with as limited stress as possible. She was a great help to my wedding planner and her assistants by helping do whatever needed to be done. I would highly recommend considering Stella as your wedding venue!

We had our ceremony and reception at Stella on 3/5/16, my husband and I, along with our 175 guests had the most unforgettable, beautiful, fun, romantic and classy outdoor wedding experience. Every single one of our guests has told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. My husband and I, along with most of our guests, are from Illinois, and Caroline Parrone did the most amazing job referring us to vendors, helping us with decisions and providing her wedding coordination services. Stella is even more majestic and beautiful in person than any photo we could find online. Thank you Stella and Caroline for the most beautiful day of our lives <3

We had our ceremony here and everything was beautiful. I had so many guests tell me during and after the wedding how beautiful everything was at Stella. Caroline helped me out so much and was able to work with me on having my dream ceremony there. We picked to have our ceremony underneath the beautiful oak trees during sunset time and the scenery was beautiful. Thank you Stella Plantation and Caroline!

Stella Plantation, or what I like to refer to it as, the perfect little hidden gem!
The grounds are very magical, you will walk through some of the oldest oak trees surrounded by beauty, so many options
Outside or inside, bridal suite, cook house your options are endless.
We picked Stella for our big day and we are happy we did, with the help of Caroline (Stella's wedding
Coordinator) everything went smoothly- she is so kind and she takes the extra mile to go above and beyond.
My husband and I will never forget the magic here on our wedding night, our family and friends were blown away!

My mom and I went to 11 different venues before checking out Stella Plantation. I knew I wanted an outdoor wedding with that southern charm, without all the noise from the busy streets. Going to Stella I always had in the back of my mind that it was a little too far out but once I arrived, I knew I had to get married under their oak trees! It wasn't until August that I was introduced to Caroline, Stella's event manager. She was amazing! She is always on top of things, always got back to me quick!
Fast forward to my wedding day, it was an 80% chance of rain. I knew I wouldn't get my ceremony under the oak trees. Caroline suggested the Carriage house, instead of the tent, which I loved! It had never been done before. Even through the horrible down pour, Caroline took care of it all. I got many compliments on her and how hard she worked to make the day special for us even with the rain pouring down!
Stella did not disappoint and I would HIGHLY recommend them! If you're looking for an outdoor, southern wedding, this is the place for you!

My expectations of the wedding day were far exceeded! Not only is this such a beautiful and unique venue, but Caroline is seriously the BEST coordinator.

She went above and beyond to accommodate us throughout the entire planning process and although I was incredibly indecisive she was still exceptionally patient. She was a tremendous help during the days leading up to the wedding by coordinating with outside vendors, but also the day of the wedding where she was actually out there setting up decor with us. She was easily accessible and always there to answer my questions which made the process so much less stressful than it otherwise could've been. She made sure everything went smoothly and as planned and honestly I didn't have a single worry...the day turned out absolutely perfect!

The grounds are perfect for an outdoor ceremony with southern charm, so we knew right away that we wanted our ceremony to take place under the gorgeous oak trees in front of the plantation. Being that my husband and I both grew up in Plaquemines Parish having our wedding at Stella made the day even more special.

The facilities at Stella are SO convenient. All of the girls were able to get ready in the Guest House before the wedding, while all of the guys were getting ready in the Cook House right next door. Being able to do this made it so much easier! We were able to bring our own food to heat up on the stove and chill our mimosas in the fridge. They have a full table for you to eat, two bathrooms (one with a shower), and a hairdressing/makeup bar as well.

The tent used for the reception is a big open floor, which was great for us since we have a huge family that LOVES to dance! All of our guests were calling us afterwards to tell us how great of a time they had. My husband and I had soooo much fun and wish we could go back and do it all over again!

I highly highly recommend Stella...you won't be disappointed!

Stella is a such a gem! We are from out of town and did a lot of research on the perfect location for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful with all the oak trees and manicured lawns, and all of the indoor facilities are well-maintained and modern (which was hard to find in all the other 'charming' locations we looked at!). Though it was about 45 minutes outside the city, all of our guests found it well worth the ride when they walked through the oak trees to our ceremony! True southern beauty.

Krystle and Caroline and the entire staff made the planning, contracts and setup very easy and pleasant and their caterer was a hit too. I was confident in their ability to handle any situation the day-of and not involve me unless it was absolutely necessary - a trustworthy planning team is a must! Caroline even helped fix my bustle in a moment of need! All hands on deck :)

I can't say enough good things about this place! I highly recommend Stella for any of your events; the grounds are a beautiful blank canvas for whatever style you want!

We had our daughters wedding at Stella Plantation on 9/26/15. Although this review is late, everything at Stella was right on time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, manicured, and everything, very well kept. Rental of The Guest House and The Cook House allowed us the time and ability to actually take it all in. Although this is all true, the most astounding aspect of this experience was dealing with the staff. Caroline Parrone(On Site Coordinator) is awesome. She would go above and beyond to make sure that everything was right. By the time it was over, she seemed more like family. Don't get me wrong, I never like spending money, but this was truly a great experience and I definitely would do it again.

I would absolutely recommend Stella Plantation to anyone!! I was recently married there, and I could not have been more happy with how everything turned out!! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the venue's event planner, Krystle, made all the difference in the world for me. I was a student writing a thesis while planning my wedding, and if it weren't for all of Krystle's help during the entire process, there's no way I could have had the wedding I will cherish for the rest of my life. It even rained for several days leading up to my wedding, and sprinkled during it, and Stella handled it so well that the rain had no negative effect on the wedding. If anything, it added to the overall ambiance of the day. I'm so grateful I was able to get married at Stella Plantation and have the help of their wonderful staff during that special time in my life!

If you are looking for the perfect venue in the New Orleans area to have your wedding ceremony and reception at, then Stella Plantation is a must visit! You will love the plantation setting. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew that this was the location. The staff at Stella Plantation are friendly and make you feel like one of the family. Our wedding was a "destination" wedding for us as we currently live in Florida. After looking at many other venues in the New Orleans area, we immediately decided on Stella. The price for holding our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception was the best around. The other venues made us feel like our "checkbook" wasn't large enough to have an event at their property. Our ceremony was outside under the 250 years old canopy of Oak Trees. Then we had a cocktail hour around the pool area with hor d'uerves served by the caterers. Then the festivities moved to the climate controled semi-permament tent on the Stella grounds. The tent was a wonderful blank canvas that allowed us to create the look and feel of our reception that we wanted. The caterers for Stella Plantation were great. All of the food offered/served was top notch. All of the food was cooked fresh on the property and was delicious. Even weeks after our wedding, we are still getting emails and phone calls about what a wonderful wedding it was. Stella Planation was so beautiful and perfect that we wish we could do it again and again!

When I saw the ad for Stella Plantation in the N.O.W. magazine I just knew that this was the place! My husband and I wanted a classy but rustic venue and we fell in love with Stella Plantation. The staff is great and very easy to work with. Krystle was very helpful, organized, and easy to get in touch with. She made the whole wedding planning experience pleasant. Our ceremony was offsite at a church and we had our reception at Stella. Everyone raved about the food! We ate leftovers for a couple of days afterwards! Everything we chose from the cater, New Orleans Catering Company, was delicious! We used Your Event Delivered to light up the tent and they did an amazing job. Everyone complimented the venue and said everything seemed to flow effortlessly during our reception. I loved having my wedding here and I highly recommend them!

I highly recommend Stella Plantation as top notch venue for a traditional southern wedding. First, the grounds are naturally beautiful, impeccably kept, and provide a myriad of different backdrops for stunning wedding photographs. Whether you pose in front of the historic home, the 200 year-old oak trees, the other rustic but elegant buildings, or simply the open grounds, the opportunities are a photographer’s and bride’s dream for perfect wedding pictures.

Another great thing about Stella Plantation is the fact that it can accommodate a small and intimate wedding as well as one with hundreds of guests. My wedding ceremony had only 40 guests, and was held in an small area under one of the oak trees. Thereafter, more than 350 guests arrived for the reception. We were able to set up the grounds and tent with ease to accommodate the number of guests by opening the sides of the tent so that it could be extended with a “tent” of string lights out into the yard for a half indoor, half outdoor wedding. We also set up an outdoor screen and viewing area made up of hay benches and blankets for guests to watch a slideshow of our family pictures. The wedding coordinator and staff at Stella were wonderful to deal with and accommodated to the best of their ability every special request that we had. The food from the Stella Plantation preferred caterer, New Orleans Catering, was also outstanding. We had passed hors d'oeuvres, including grilled tuna and duck, a separate outdoor area with raw and charbroiled oysters being shucked and cooked to order, and inside the tent we served a variety of other traditional southern fare.

Stella offers the utmost versatility to create a bride’s own vision of her unique southern wedding, rather than so many venues that offer a one-size fits all, replicated wedding factory approach.

Our experience with Stella Plantation was spectacular! My husband and I were looking for a beautiful plantation with oak trees in the New Orleans area for our wedding ceremony. This place more than fit the bill! Stella has an oak alley, beautiful green grass, and lots of old brick to give it the old plantation feel. Despite suffering massive damage from Isaac, Stella has truly maintained its beauty, and luckily didn't lose any of its historic trees! We were planning from a few hours away, so we were also looking for a "one-stop shop" of sorts to help make the planning process a little easier. Not only does Stella have a few (amazing) pre-selected vendors, Krystle will also assist you in finding local vendors that will give you what you're looking for for your special day! As I mentioned, the pre-selected vendors were incredible -- the caterer makes amazing food on-site, the DJ was great, and the photo booth was a great added touch to our reception. Our reception took place in a tent on-site, and was very convenient since our guests had all flown in for the wedding and didn't have cars to move to another location for the reception. Our wedding at Stella was perfect, more than words can describe. Our guests raved about the beauty of the grounds, the quality of the food, and the ambiance of the amazing day. We were so lucky to find them!

Wow! Where to even begin. Stella Plantation is absolutely beautiful!! It was so nice to find a setting like this just 45 min from the city, which allowed us to show our guests a completely different side of New Orleans. The event space is amazing and so is the space for the wedding party to get ready beforehand. Caroline, the events manager / planner, is incredible. She is reliable, extremely responsive, and so pleasant! We had so many questions and wanted to do incorporate many unique and nuanced components into our reception and she helped us through each with a smile and a can-do attitude. She has great relationships with several top-notch vendors, so even though you get to have a completely DIY and personalized experience if you wish, you also have so much support and assistance from Caroline and her entire network. One of our vendors backed out at the last minute and Caroline found us a new one (at an even better price) within hours! This was a destination wedding for my husband and me so her attentiveness and willingness to help us with anything and everything was even more appreciated. I highly recommend Stella Plantation as a venue both because of the natural beauty and how well maintained it is, and because Caroline and the staff are absolutely fantastic. As a bride, I felt so comfortable throughout the planning process and was thrilled to see our fairytale vision become a reality.
