Southern Oaks is a wedding and event venue in Gilbert, SC, on Highway 378, minutes from Lexington and Lake Murray. At Southern Oaks, we strive to make your day as relaxing as possible. We can do as much or as little as you want. Southern Oaks offers decoration packages, including CUSTOMIZED DECORATIONS AND FRESH FLORAL ARRANGMENTS, including ALL setups and decorations breakdowns. These optional packages are added to the regular venue rental.
Facilities
The house, which is now the face of Southern Oaks, was built in 1820. Still with its original shiplap and design, this historic farmhouse is the perfect setting for a Southern wedding. It includes a Bridal Suite, a Groom's Room, a Den Area for parents and grandparents to relax, and an additional Bridal Loft for large wedding parties. The home is filled with large, elegant chandeliers and stunning furniture. The property has 2 historic barns, a chapel, a large outdoor patio with tables, a fire pit, and a bar. Southern Oaks has one of the largest reception buildings in Lexington County and one of the few with a designated building for a chapel or separate cocktail hour space. There are 2 arbors onsite and beautiful spaces shaded for outdoor ceremonies. The land is full of large pecan and oak trees, multiple arbors, and a breathtaking landscape. Evergreens surround this property, and its well-manicured lawn makes it a beautiful space every month of the year.

The absolute best!
I opted to do the package with them which included catering, bar tending staff, chairs for both ceremony and reception, so much beautiful decor, and so so so much more. For this reason, and so many other reasons, my wedding planning process and wedding day were so stress free and relaxing. Being a very hands on person, it was AMAZING to sit back and relax and trust that every detail was being tended to.
