I could truly write for hours about how much I loved working with Son Cubano for our wedding. From start to finish, the experience exceeded every expectation and brought our entire vision to life in a way that felt effortless, joyful, and unforgettable.

We planned a fun, tropical deco–inspired celebration with nods to 1940s Miami glamour, hosted at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC — a venue that already carries so much old-world elegance. Son Cubano was the perfect complement to that backdrop, elevating the evening with a sound and presence that felt transportive, stylish, and full of soul.

Josh, the band leader, was an absolute dream to work with. From our very first conversation, he was open, thoughtful, and genuinely excited to help bring my (very specific!) vision to life. We collaborated closely on everything from the playlist to the band’s attire, and his flexibility and attention to detail made the entire process seamless. During the most hectic stretch of wedding planning, knowing the music was in such capable hands was an enormous relief.

The night of the wedding was nothing short of magical. One of the guitarists played during cocktail hour, setting the tone beautifully, and the reveal of the ballroom — with the full band playing — was a true “pinch me” moment. In a time when so many wedding bands feel interchangeable, Son Cubano stood out immediately. Their old-school Latin jazz vibe was nostalgic, energetic, and incredibly cool.

My biggest goal was simple: I wanted people dancing. And dancing they did. The dance floor was packed all night long — no lulls, no hesitation, just pure joy. Guests are still talking about how much fun they had and how unique the music felt.

Son Cubano didn’t just play our wedding — they made it. They created an atmosphere that was warm, celebratory, and unforgettable, and I am so grateful we found them. Fantastic value, wonderful people, and truly exceptional music.
